I was just wondering, the next generation of video game console are most probably going to carry a standard resolution of 1080p (like the majority of the games in this generation are 720p); what I'm pondering about is whether polyphony would be able to directly port the cars to the next gen GT (obviously the lighting and shader engine is going to be new) or will the detail on the cars prove to be insufficient?
If they're able to directly port the cars then one can only imagine what a master piece PD would come up with in 2013-14, its going to be the best racing game ever.
As for GT5, sure it looks gorgeous but the kind of work PD puts in its games, its obsession with using every bit of processing power available makes me get that feeling you get when you game on a PC, "It would have looked so cool if I had a more powerful machine". You only get that feeling when you know that the problem that you are having can be fixed very easily just by adding more power. (AA, AF, FPS, shadow quality etc. related issues)
Looking at the shadows just makes me sick, its spoils the look of the game, the way they are broken in the hood of the Ford GT or the license plate areas of the cars (most obvious areas IMO). I hope they are able to fix the problem by the time GT5 is released.
Another random thought, I love that Citta de Aria (Assisi) track in GT4, I will be immensely disappointed if it isn't included. So I was just wondering, what do you guys think about that track, just give me an idea about the popularity of that track.
