This is not a retailer release date...
GTplanet is not the only website to have official information (their's more information here but it's not the only source)

I think Kinetic is referring to yeti post and not yours.

Now if you can show us where this gaming news site got their information we might find it to be legitimate, otherwise it appears to be just another news site generating clicks and ad revenue by reporting rumors.

Play3-live is a reliable site, i believe them when they say "it comes from official source" as i believe GTplanet when they said their information are reliable.

If it is true I would have to wait and see what all comes with the bundle if it's going to be $90 more than a PS3 & GT5 separately.

yeah Justin. I agree, what's the point of a bundle if it costs more? Unleeeeeessss... The standard version of GT5 costs the average ~$50, and the full, premium version costs much much more. /theory :P

Official bundle listing --> GT5 / PS3 slim bundle : december 4 (339€)

http://www.play3-live.com/news-ps3-exclu-tous-les-packs-ps3-dici-la-fin-2009-16586.html

PS3 slim + gt5 339€: release date 4 dec

I think 339€ will be 339$ if these bundle are released in us.
For video game industry (and many other), 1€ = 1$ ... instead of 1€ = 1,5$ and sometime european prices are even higher:tdown: "l'europe est la vache à lait"

In europe, PS3 slim cost 299 euro, with bundle GT5 is only 40 euro

It is great news frerot 👍! But still unofficial. I think everybody is holding their breath for the official announcement at the TGS.
But I agree it has been really quiet on the thread lately…

👎 "l'europe est la vache à lait"

 C'est vrai!

Even for my Fanatec wheel (german product), I paid 299€ and our American friends have to pay the same amount in $. Fanatec explained that It's because of the VAT and the whole shebang.

My take on the translation:

"If you are considering buying a PS3 Slim, maybe you are waiting for the bundle packs that Sony will surely offer by the end of the year?

Thanks to one of our contacts, we are able to show you the preview of the official listing of deals that Sony will have for sale by the end of the year:

PS3 Slim + Need for Speed Shift: € 339 - Release Date: 01 October 2009 - 25,000 units

PS3 Slim + 2 Blu-Ray movies: 339 € - Release Date: October 2009

PS3 Slim + Uncharted 2: € 339 - Release Date: 14 October 2009 - 50,000 units

PS3 Slim + PES 2010: € 339 - Release Date: 24 October 2009 - 50,000 units

PS3 Slim + Tekken 6: 339 € - Release Date: 04 November 2009 - 25,000 units

PS3 Slim + Assassin's Creed 2: € 339 - Release Date: 19 November 2009 - 25,000 units

PS3 Slim + Gran Turismo 5: € 339 - Release Date: 04 December 2009 - 75,000 units.

All of these are very attractive packages and Gran Turismo 5 will undoubtedly be the hit of the season. Of course, this schedule is subject to change.

A great big thank you to Epsilon for the info!"

It's old news that EA weren't continuing their NASCAR series. It probably was the reason why PD decided to put NASCAR in to the series, as it opens a hole for the North American racing market. To include it with the myriad of other options within GT5, expands it's selling potential in North America.

One of the most likely reasons they didn't renew their license with NASCAR is the financial strife of EA. They've had some farcical results of late and are on the demise with other series as well. Their cricket series for instance.

Oh and Peter Moore is an AUP breaking swear ;)

Could GT5 be the reason ?

I believe iracing is the biggest factor here, with iracing being an official NASCAR series.
I hear they use the Papyrus engine from previous NASCAR games for iracing.
I never liked those games.

Story

NASCAR in GT5 gets a 👍 from me.

Just picked up the latest Play magazine.

In the previous issue they stated that next month they will have a preview of GT5. So all excited I picked up this months issue with the front cover saying "new info on GT". What a complete an utter rip off because it was only half a page long!!

However according to this independant magazine GT5 will have real time weather changes meaning you will have to change your tyres mid race (should be fun online!). Also ALL cars will have damage which I find rather confusing considering what has already been said. Lastly a release date according to this magazine is in Nov!

I don't usually buy magazines but my desire for new GT5 info mean't I had to purchase it. The trouble is these magazines know it, which is why I feel tricked by them. Certainly won't be buying another magazine again!

Is this magazine reliable? because that is all i want from GT5 really.. not sure if scans are allowed here, but it would be nice.

Also, it really adds to this older tidbit:

Im thinking TGS will finally show us weather effects.. fingers crossed.

They seem to be a fairly mainstream magazine. The link below is there website.

Certainly hoping the real time weather changes is correct. Just imagine racing online and its lap 5 of 10 and it starts pouring with rain. Do you pit or risk staying out in the hope its a brief shower? Certainly adds a twist to the online race not to mention the strategy and realisim.

Just a thought, if the GT series has in the past set the benchmark that other developers have tried to improve on....would it not be unreasonable to think (hope) that GT5 will do the same? Will GT5 raise the bar even higher?

I will enjoy GT5 even if it didn't have weather changes, but really I love the idea of driving the nordschleife in the rain!

But I think Play magazine can't know if it actually in the game.
Or they must have a guy from the inside, like a spy.....
Amar seems to know stuff, so maybe Play magazine knows too?

Would love some scans, or maybe retype the article?

That would be cool, but maybe just a little too much to ask...
Project gotham racing 4 had the track in snow conditions, and visually it looked awsome!

Gnah, i want scans, hope someone over at NeoGAF can get his hands on the mag.
I think scans are not allowed here. 8(
You don't need scans because i've told you whats worth knowing.

The rest of the article was very short and the tiny amount of information was what we already know. The only new information was the weather changes and that all cars had damage plus the Nov release date.

Like I said it was an absolute rip off and im that annoyed I shall be sending an email to the magazine.

If im allowed I shall literally type word for word what the article says but I want someone from GT planet to confirm that I can do this. I don't want to break any copyright laws.

I want scans so i can believe you. lol
Dont take it personal, but i need a prove, its actually quite a megaton if true.

Sounds like they just went to print with the best rumours they could find. I can find articles in the GTP News blog that says every one of those things as well.

Just tried to take photos but they aren't coming out very clear. Certainly not readable anyway. I shall see if my neighbours have a scanner tomorrow.

If not im sure some GT members from the UK might be able to scan a copy.

Thanks!

It would be quite a megaton indeed, if this is true.. i find it hard to believe magazines just make stuff up or just confirm rumours themselves and print it.. am i right?

god i hope so.. dynamic weather effects is sooo great when done right.

I would get your hopes too high (for the legit confirmation, not the feature itself) since "paper can bear anything". Those aren't the times when printed word was sacred and true, even though it's not the time to make stuff up about GT5 when it's (supposedly) so close to the release.
