Most adults i know don't use terms WTF & GTP FAIL about something they know so little about.

You have no idea what I know about.

It should be obvious to anyone that when using such internet speak I am not trying to make a serious point. I was simply expressing idle frustration that with crowds of paid reporters and a person sent specifically to gather information on GT5 the most basic of questions still remain open.

I have not missed any information. I knew the day night video was posted here first. First, by a few hours. It is still information we would have got if he were not there.

Eventually. Yet the video we got was one recorded by him (on an iPhone 3GS, of all things) and it hit here first.

By the argument that we'd still get information eventually, there's no point in any gaming news site sending anyone - besides the first one to attend. We'll all get their news. Eventually.

What we have got is everything from the Sony presentation and day/night transition before anyone else. Gamersyde got reverse lights before anyone else. All the other sites have produced garbled nonsense about "premium cars" and "interiors/cockpits" on just 200 of the 1,000 cars - which is both wrong and unhelpful.

I just don't think that because someone is 'taking some time out of your life to travel several hundred miles' that nobody is allowed to question whether it was worth it.

What would make it worth it to you?

Why is what would make it worth it to you objective and not subjective? There's only two people whose opinion about whether it's worth it matters - the person who's actually had the cojones to go, and the person who runs the site he's representing.

And for the record, there are plenty of people who would LOVED to have taken his place.

I know. I'd have gone. It wouldn't have been massively practical - in fact between you and I, I'm not sure which of us would have been the least practical to send - but I would actually have done it.

I am not criticising him, he may for all I know be doing the best job that could be expected. I am simply saying that as I see it, there has been little value to his presence there so far.

There must be some hidden meaning to telling Sage his presence at E3 is "GTP fail right there" then.

Sage is there. You - and I - are not. We don't know what's going on. What we do know is that he broke, for GTPlanet, the first news worldwide that GT5's E3 demos have a day/night transition. That's value - whether or not you think it is.

Why you get so emotional over this I've no idea.

Why you're imprinting emotion upon me is equally as mysterious.

@amar: :lol: Thanks.

Oh man, if that cockpit thing would be claryfied I would be really happy, but only 200 cars with cockpits would be a huge letdown for me. 8(

Only 200(+) cars with Cockpit/In Car/Dashboard View simply can't be true.

It would be a failure to me.
As Forza Motorsport 3 already had 400+ on release, And with the DLC is getting close to 500+.

Considering that GT5 has been in development much longer than FM3 had been,
I expext every car to have Dashboard View.

You're perfectly correct, i have no idea what you know about. I do know that you demonstrate no real knowledge of how these big conferences work, and how much hard work a lowly GTP member has to put in to get us information, which we are grateful for.

Your 'internet speak reasoning' is quite simply, utter tripe.(see what i did there!, oh nevermind)

Really loving the Runway.. Oh yeah.. the runway and the Murci. Now we can be Jezza and say "... and a top speed of.. tell you what.. let's find out!" whilst driving the beastly Murcielago.

Kazunori boldly stated that "the game is possibly more advanced than the PS3 and that it would fit the bill for a PS4 game if the console was around"

That quote made me start smiling like a fool as I sit here alone

It wouldn't if he delayed it until PS4!! :)

Im just wondering, tell me if im wrong but if in the special edition gt5 release you get a free special "stealth" livery, does this mean there proberly isnt a livery editor because you could just replicate the special livery?? im just a wondering, tell me if im reaading into it to much...??
cheers

Im not atall worried that all cars wont have interior view.

IMO it would be totally out of character for a GT game, to leave out the camera which most closely resembles real life, I dont use it personally but still fully expect all cars to have an interior view with the 200 Premium cars to have fully modelled interiors.

Yeah, that quote puzzled me as well, does this mean we somehow have to insert a PS3 into the gigantic GT5 box-art in which it is delivered?;)

There was no hidden meaning. As I said, it was idle frustration at the situation. I guess there has been value in generating hits for GTP, that I didn't take into account.

Questioning what I have done for GTP was totally unrelated and an undeniable emotional defensive response. That is why I imprinted emotion on your post.

I really have no intention of derailing this thread so I'll shut my mouth on the topic. Besides when he does get a chance to speak directly with PD, who knows what might come out of that.

He may well mean that the assets are good enough for the next generation. For example they have modelled the cars to such an extent that they would have no problem levelling up the polygon count to PS4 levels. That is what I take from it.

Yes, I know what it could imply, it's just me trying to be funny.....

How does Kazunori know what the ps4 will be capable of? :nervous:

I have explained why I asked - to put the contributions of someone voicing "idle frustration" in direct comparison to those of someone who has embraced the financial and logistical inconvenience to go and get us information for no reward. It had nothing to do with emotion - nor does anything I post at GTP (unless we have a thread about emotions) - and thus I deny what you believe to be the undeniable.

I dont know what id do if I had to wait till ps4:lol: still its good the see gt5 pushing the limits of ps3, very exciting if you ask me;)

Tell you what, you produce a video of you driving a game, track, car and day/night scenario for the first time, one handed, with the other hand holding the camera while you drive and by-and-large keep it on the track and I'll personally run a campaign for Jordan to get your ass to next years E3 and I'll even chip in for your flight.

If cockpits won't have 1:1 steering animation they only make my driving harder as the as the tiny angle wheel on the screen only confuses my mind about what the car is doing when i play with 900 degree controller.

Also all the "stupid" details on light reflections and that kind of work seems strange as all the cars won't even have simple cockpits.

I will wait for the ISR interview and our interview if we have a man there in E3, before i jump into conclusions.Great that we have a release date now.

@ the cockpit discussion:
When standard cars are only the cars from previous GT games and DONT have a cockpit view, then i have the question what this picture is then about?

http://www.gtpla.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/gran-turismo-5-e3-2010-screenshots-12.jpeg

Here you can see the BMW M5 wich already was playable in GT4. So this one has to be standard, right?
But you can clearly see that the interior is modelded.
Also when you watch the Gallardo video on Madrid or Rome (i just cant remember) youll see the M5 and the interior of it.
So i guess this should be cleared up by now.

I think you're misinterpreting what is meant by "interior". I believe everyone is referring to the interior in the sense that a) it's what you can see from the cockpit view and b) everything under the bodywork that can be damaged. Not what you can see of the inside of a car from the outside.
