Almost the whole eurogamer interview is a joke to me, and of course that Porsche part can't be true - just like that interior/cockpit part - we just have too much proof for the opposite.

Basically this.

It was posted here last night, and IIRC, Kaz hadn't talked to ANYBODY yet, let alone with Eurogamer in some exclusive preview that nobody else got.

They're capitalizing on the press they'll get by releasing info first, people will flock to their site, it will generate revenue from ads. Blah blah.

In case you guys forgot, the night before E3, some "official racing sim" site stated that PD had pulled out of E3 completely, which then changed to us only getting a small glimpse of GT on Thursday, and that's it.

Take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt, please.

That what Im talking about someone with sense 👍 Im not saying everything they are saying is wrong but for folks who believe we will only have 200 cars with cockpit view its very sad.

There is a very easy way to resolve this whole premium issue. Wait until we get over 200 photos of different cars with cockpit views. There about 60 something in GT5p, then there are all the videos we have seen. That must narrow it down to about 50 cars left.

There is so much over analyzing going on everyone is confusing themselves.

20 locations, 70 tracks within the locations. Locations are a place, a country. 70 tracks within the countries. Variations aren't new tracks so no need to count them

Premium will have destructible interiors and engines and etc, I'm not sure if every car is going to have a full cockpit (and be displayed like cars in the dealer are in GT5P which show the interior) but I would imagine that is going to happen.

IGNs preview seems to go along the same lines as Eurogames.

The guys at Insidesimracing.tv have an interview with PD and they have a question thread on their forums. I asked them to try and clear up this interior/cockpit view mess... I hope I wasn't to late in asking.

If there is anyone to ask the right questions to PD at E3, the guys at Insidesimracing are the ones to do so.

Quotes from Darin Gangi of Inside Sim racing TV fame

Drove GT5 yesterday at a VIP event that Mercedes Benz was holding. Drove the SLS at a few track. Tokyo, LeMans, Top Gear Test track and we got footage of it all too.. ALso tested it in 3d and it looks amazing ! Met Kazanori too.. Shaun and JEss got pictures with him.. I tried talking to him but I don't think he understood, or knew how to reply in English.

According to the latest GAMESPOT article, PREMIUM vs STANDARD, interior/cockpit wise, simply means PREMIUM cars have OVER THE TOP detail when it comes to cockpit/interior as well as engine/suspension/body parts.
That's what I got out of it at least.

That's nice, good for you. People aren't drama queens, not all, they just rather not listen to someone that has nothing to back up his statements other than something not making sense to him.

"Incidentally, it will be possible to take photos from inside car cockpits, though it's not clear whether this feature will be available in standard as well as premium models" also from Gamespot

A 100% clear confirmation isn't any better than hearing it from these sites and web articles. Hearing things straight from PD and SONY often create more confusion.

Thats cool thats why i said some, but when i read things like WTF has PD been doing or im not buying this game etc that my friend falls into the dramma queen section 👍

That's just people losing patience. Let them vent.

I noticed from the stream on G4 it says in the upper left hand corner of the setup screen: Real Circuits/United States of America. My conclusion, United States of America is one of 20 "Locations".

In GT5 prologue some cityzens cars and small cars have interior, so why you would like than GT5 dont have cockpit for all car.
After maybe some old car (GT4) can have a normal cockpit and spécial race cars and others very important cars have a AAA cockpit.

hmmm :)
The most impressive track, though, was the Nurburgring, not only because it's so huge, but also because of the ridiculous amount of work that has gone into re-creating it. For example, when racing in a 24-hour event at the track (which you will have the option to do in real time), you'll not only get to see the day-night transition, but because it's such a long event, you'll notice that many of the spectators have tents or camper vans that aren't there during normal races. Polyphony Digital has photographed every inch of the famously graffiti-daubed track in order to make sure that it's as accurate and as up to date as possible in the game. Some of the offensive stuff has been removed, but if you've written something family-friendly on the track in the past year or two, there's a good chance it has made it into the game. And hey, you can even take a photo of it as proof.

As was confirmed just yesterday, Gran Turismo 5 is scheduled for release on November 2. And when that day comes, you'll be able to check out all of the aforementioned features, the new low/high beam functionality, the smoke illumination effects, and whatever else Yamauchi is keeping up his sleeve until GamesCom for yourself. We look forward to bringing you more information on the long-awaited Gran Turismo 5 just as soon as it becomes available

notice that it says "you'll have the OPTION" to race a 24H race "in real-time". Does this mean that we'll be able to speed up the 24H races...like a simulated 24H race?

You might have missed that Gran Turismo 5 was announced for release November 2 of this year.

Well we now have a few more details on the game, courtesy of Matt (Diz), who called in from E3.

Here is what he saw while attending a press conference that focused on the game. Read more to see how the approximately 1,000 cars will breakdown and feel.

Matt said the game demonstrated at E3 wasn't the complete build. That is expected to debut in August during GamesCom.

There was no discussion of online play.

The Cars

Okay. There will be 800 standard cars and 200 premium cars. The difference will be noticeable. The premium cars will have greater details in pretty much all aspects, including the vehicle's undercarriage and dashboard.

Both types will be available in the game, though. So don't worry about paying for the premium.

DLC

There are plans for DLC and contests, but they didn't get into specifics.

Graphics

Graphically, the game is beautiful. There is a great focus on the details, which has become a GT hallmark. During the press conference, Matt said it was difficult at times to tell the difference between footage of real vehicles and cars created by Polyphony Digital.

The development team focused on everything from the brake rotors, collision sparks, smoke illumination, and various headlight intensity. Drivers will be able to flash slower vehicles, for example.

There will also be a day to night transition.

NASCAR

The game shown at E3 had nine licensed NASCAR vehicles, but many more are coming. Also, NASCAR has requested that the cars be available for more than just the NASCAR tracks. So expect to take a stock car to Italy.

Racing Circuits

There was no mention of how many tracks the game will have, but they talked about four circuits. These will take players to Rome, Italy, Spain and Germany.

In Germany, GT5 will heavily feature Nürburgring, the 24-hour event. Players will literally be able to race all-day in this event though they won't be required to. You can expect to see spectators camping and grilling out, by the way.

Photo Mode

There will be two photo modes in the game. The first will be the standard race photo mode. The second one will be travel mode. In this, players will be able to drive to designated locations of tracks and tour the area.

It will automatically go into a camera view that will allow for a little roaming around both the vehicle and track.

Player Lounge

But what do you do with all those pictures? Simple. You share them with people through an in-game lounge. Here is where you'll be able to display your career status, unlocked trophies, photos, and communicate with friends you've invited to your lounge.

The lounge will also incorporate what is called "Gran Turismo Life." Be ready to monitor how your friends are doing and to read a stream of comments that will be readable in-game.

Face Tracking

Anybody with the PlayStation Eye will be able to use the camera to track your face. This will adjust our in-game view to match where you are looking in real life.

notice that it says "you'll have the OPTION" to race a 24H race "in real-time". Does this mean that we'll be able to speed up the 24H races...like a simulated 24H race?

Or maybe you will do stints so after your stint you may be able to save and then when you load up again you will start off a couple or so hours later (race time).

Sounds like we might get the final vehicle and track lists at GameCon, as well. But from what it sounds like, the car list is going to be Everything from GT1, 2, 3, 4, GTHD, GT5P and GTPSP plus a few more.

But does that mean companies like Vector Aeromotive will reappear?

I'd put my bet on TGS rather than GC, that's their home country afterall. I think at TGS they will reveal all that they will about the game.

Hmm, I don't expect them to go all-out at Gamescom.
Sony still has a show at home before the release of the game. (Tokio Game Show.)

Altough that doesn't mean they won't show off things we european guys consider to be cool at Gamescom, Things like: WRC, F1, 24 Heures Du Mans, And so on.
Thats the way i see it, Considering the E3 demo's focus is on (Classic)Muscle Cars and Nascar.
