Wow, GT5 could deliver the definitive racing experience this generation THE DRIVE OF YOUR LIFE and yet, seems like we would never get out of this situation:

Seriously :(

Anyway, do you guys have other sources saying that GT will have a heavy presence on August Gamescom? I think I read that in one place only (Eurogamer IIRC), would be nice to get more confirmations.

We have not seen any information regarding customization. Probably TGS since Japan is car mod crazy. đź‘Ť

Yeah thats almost a fair guess ya know, If there is going to be customization (as we havent heard anything yet) then this is when it will be released..

That 32 players thing is interesting, it does seem likely it's just 16 racing at a time. It might be possible to do for certain hosts with lots of bandwidth, but I doubt everyone could show up in a different car without really maxing the PS3's hardware out.

I actually wonder if that's why we're only seeing 8 cars on track at a time, with Kaz's comment that some of the premium models may have "gone too far" with the detail, he might be alluding to the fact that they had to scale back the number of cars on track if you're racing premium models? Just a theory.

I guess it's just 20 tracks after all. Unfortunate but with all the variations and time of day transitions, it'll do. At least until the DLC hopefully starts arriving.

"GT5 headtracking not quite as awesome as I'd hoped." - digitalfoundry via twitter

Meh, probably never going to use it anyway.

Think the 32 players may be for some sort of trackday in GT-lounge, up to 16 players max on the track and the rest watching or hanging out alongside waiting to take their turn when another car pits, maybe even possible to change or exchange set-ups, etc.

Has anyone here counted just the tracks in the demos ?.Doubtful but the 20 tracks could be demo tracks. There were a few at E3 this week.

I like that the cars you bought in GT5P/GTM will only transfer to the arcade mode. Now I don't have think about whether to do it :)

Also 4 player offline multiplayer is very sweet in times where games tend to overlook that aspect

We start earning cars from scratch. đź‘Ť

Regarding the tracks thing.
They said it took them two years to make Madrid and Rome(or even two years each, not sure), so no, there isn't magically a mass of new tracks you didn't hear about, there obviously wasn't enough time...

Uh, Polyphony Digital employs more than half a dozen people ... what is there to say they couldn't work on these things concurrently, or have different people working on different circuits?

Apart from this seemingly unresolved cockpit view confirmation ( which worries me as conflicting, unclear and confusing pieces of info appear and no clear consensus amongst the forum members can therefore be established unfortunately ) I have to say I'm chuffed to bits with the rest ( which is a lot I have to say ) we've seen so far.

I mean everybody has their favourite aspects and apart from all those lovely highly detailed screenshots, beautiful trailer and an exciting and intruiging dynamic day/night vid ( and confirmation of Maserati, which is big news to me ) and all the online/photo mode possibilities it's the little things which really got my attention today.

Functioning horn and low/high beam lights ( and yesterday the reverse lights/3D tree debate was finally settled ), I mean what's not to like about this.
As for the number of tracks, at least DLC is confirmed as a possiblity ( as it's for cars apparantly ) and although I was hoping for a livery editor and even a track editor I have to admit these are the least of my worries now.

My biggest worry is that from November onwards I won't have much of a life anymore as this game promises to upsurp every second of my spare time and if someone could clarify this whole cockpit debate I wouldn't even consider it a worry anymore but just give in fullheartedly.:)

I'm sure they have alot more than 6 employees, the problem is they dont all work making tracks, probably that many just working on reverse lights:ill:

I thought it was already cleared up yesterday? o_O
EVERY car will have interior/cockpit-view - premium models will have almost 1:1 modelled interior PLUS interior damage enabled ...standard cars will of course have interior/cockpit-view too, but it's not as detailed as the premium ones ...and of course, no interior damage.

I hope that cleared everything up, because it should be pretty clear by now.

I don't want to start this debate again ( as some people seem to really get annoyed by it as it intrudes every single thread it seems ) but it's all assumtions, interpretations, and personal theories so far ( some more believable than others ) and I won't be fully reassured until it comes straight from the horse's mouth.

That's no personal opinion... that's what all those websites wrote, which were at the closed door presentation with KY. Plus we have seen enough evidence for this theory in the last couple months, so I don't get all the pessimism.

I was referring to all the opinions on this forum and the articles on those websites didn't really clarify this issue ( but provided plenty of other usefull info ).
And I'm not being pessimistic ( as I've explained in my other post ), just worried as this feature means a whole lot to me.
It remains uncertain whatever is written so far ( and still remains a theory, not fact ) and the sooner it can be clarified ( whichever outcome it provides ) I'll know what I can expect and what not to.
I don't want to get excited too much basing my judgement on theories not fully proven, rather get the dissapointment now than November.
Not pessimistic, but realistically alter my expectations if necessary.

I look at brand new features as nice to have add on. 3D, head tracking, damage, weather, day/night etc.

Basics first, lots of cars (with cockpit...), tracks and quality gaming time. Then explore those new features, feedback (right here on GTP as usual) and hope they get it really 100% on GT6.

If we live to see it! :s

Whilst I agree and recognize the weakness and numbness of all the speculation surrounding the "cockpitgate" episode, it's getting clearer that all the cars will have cockpit views and only the Premium ones will get interior damage and higher res textures, so I would expect Prologue's cockpit views to be labelled as Standard, and that's enough to me. But again, that's just speculation too. :D

Seriously people..Minimax could help with the interior/cockpit debate..hate to bring it up,cuz it boils down to a debate of assumptions from all of us.my opinion is that the game will feel 'incomplete' to a certain degree with 800 interior less cars.with that said,Kaz is a perfectionist.in the IGN/eurogamer interview (cant remember) ,they said he answered honestly and said to make every car premium would be impossible because of time constraints.apparently he also said it was really hard to do the 200,and that to me..nearly makes me think all cars have interior, but those premiums have been insanely modelled interiors with deformation.why would Kaz say something along the lines that we're lucky to even have managed to get to 200 'premium' cars? ...well,I know Minimax, the dude with the demo could clear this up.how many cars are in that demo?how many say premium?how many say standard? Are there any without cockpit view?if we count every car we've seen, including the prologue tally of 70 something, surely the limit is edging towards 150 or so.but the main question would be,are there any cars labelled standard in the demo, but have an incar view.

It appeares from this article that Adrian Newey has designed something really special exclusively for GT5......nice.:D

Uhm. That's not what it says. It rather hints at the Red Bull F1 car being included in GT5, because that's the ONLY thing Newey and Vettel both are involved with.
