The fact of the matter is, Kaz has made it abundantly clear that his primary concern is modelling accuracy. That's well and good, but I don't need a screw accurately rendered on the bottom of the back bumper, near the exhaust. Having "Premium" shouldn't be a feature... what other game has two seperate tiers of model quality? It's poor planning, that's all; if they realized their models were taking too long to complete, they should've scaled back their goals so that all cars were modelled to the same level. Nobody's going to look at Prologue and say it looks like crap. I'm not saying the newest stuff isn't fantastic looking, because it is, without a doubt... but at the expense of other features.
It's a strange contradiction to have on the one hand perfectly recreated Premium cars with details no one really asked for ( besides Kaz himself ) and on the other hand the question mark still hanging around the Standard cars being up to par with what was offered in Prologue ( interior view mostly ).
This seems rather strange to me as well since he's a perfectionist so I can only agree with your assumption of poor planning or being overambitious.
Don't get me wrong, I love the amount of detail fetisjism displayed on those Premium models but not at the cost of the majority of other cars not being up to Prologue's standard ( if they were, I really wouldn't mind to be honest ).
And I find it strange some say we should be satisfied with those 800 cars being more or less graphically upgraded GT4 models as if expecting more somehow makes you sound like a spoiled child.
I didn't really ask for anything more than Prologue with more cars and more tracks to be honest and everything added so far has been a huge bonus ( damage, etc. ) but I didn't really expect a new feature introduced in Prologue on all cars bar one ( interior view ) could possibly be implemented on a minority of cars in the full game.
And this also comes from a huge fan since the very first GT.
