Guy's,I really think that all of you will have more disappointment with the standrad tracks!!I mean,we all noticed that all the tracks in E3 demo are a Premium!!so
-Premium cars,have 500kpolygones,great texture,damage....
-800 standard cars from Gt4-Gtpsp upscaled without damage end less details, texture's and sadly without cockpit view!!
Now we can do the same though about standard circuit and Premium circuit:
-Premium circuit, like the Ring,Top gear,Suzuka,Roma....will have a great details and texture with day-night cycle +16 cars...
-Standard circuit from Gt4(NewYork,Seattle,Laguna seca...) upscaled with less details and without day-night cycle and with only 8cars!!
Could this be the next big disappointment for Gt-community??

Actually I think it would be the other way around - Standard tracks more cars / Premium tracks fewer cars.

But yes, I think we could follow some logic along those lines.

Do you have any literature to back up your claims of "Premium" and "Standard" circuits?

It was either (or both) Nurburgring and Le Mans videos of the demos that showed the track's menu stating clearly below the track's name the 'Premium' status.

Was this confirmed by Kazunori Yamauchi yet??????

I will not be happy if I don't get Laguna Seca as premium.

Good Morning!

Oh so many posts since last night... and no solid news.

Ok, I'm gonna unsubscribe this thread for a while... it's mostly people taking imaginary grains of sand and making a sand storm out of them.

I hate to keep flogging a potential dead horse, but I have yet to have the following question answered to my satisfaction.

Is there anyway to determine for sure, if the car in the tunnel, in this vid a premium car? http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/gallery/d9408.html

It looks awfully sparse for a finely detailed interior of a premium car.

My guess would be the Mercedes SLS, only that the dashboard backlighting is slightly different from what we've seen in the nights-trailer or TGS2009.

lol no. Your list is wrong.

Standard cars are not GT4 cars upscaled. They will have better models than those. It will be better than GTHD surely.

Also in the montage video of standard cars I think you can see 16 cars.

There is nothing knows as standard tracks. GT5 is one game with both premium and standard cars having same tracks

You will have to agree that there will be some difference between tracks, else there would be no point in having a premium distinction for certain tracks.

If you are in doubt about the premium/standard track difference, this video shows that Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans) is listed as a premium track around the 30 second marker.

Oh dear, yesterday I assumed ( wrongly as it now turns out ) all cars would have interior view, but it appears 800 cars will now be more or less graphically upscaled GT4 models?
Don't get me wrong, I loved GT4 without interiors and played it for years on a PS2..................

Now with Yamauchi claiming those Premium models were in hindsight better suited for the PS4 we are left apparantly with 2 car model types.
One from a previous gen upscaled for current gen and one next gen pushing the limits of current gen.
And all this on the first full GT title for the PS3, what happened to simply having PS3 models in a PS3 game?

I would like GT5 to have at least the car count of GT4 but if the numbers would be closer to, say, 500 with all interiors modelled as Prologue promised I think I would prefer that over what appears to be the current situation.
It also looks those Standard cars in those new pictures have blacked out windows which wasn't even the case in GT4.........

So either this is all a monumental misunderstanding ( which I hope, but probably should know better by now ) or in my opinion a monumental cock-up on the part of PD.
I can't comprehend this is a situation planned form the start, even GT3 ( the first GT on a new console ) lost some cars from GT2 to still offer a great new game only for GT4 to catch up the car count from GT2 again.
It appears they were overambitious and wanted to have all cars Premium from the start but were forced halfway in this process due to time/resource/financial reasons to create this compromise.

No matter how many new features are added and no matter how excited I was with the new E3 info and gorgeous trailer this feels to me like dropping a bombshell on a great party so far.
And no I'm not some spoiled little kid wishing for something impossible, I've played all GT games without interior, I've played late eighties and early nineties PC driving games with appalling graphics and am still amazed what is achieved today.
But I didn't expect to be playing a serious current gen driving game without interior view on all cars since Prologue.

Doubt dat, GT:HD cars didn't have black windows like GT5 standard.

We will know at TGS I guess. Premium look too good. Someone needs to ask them about standard models now as upsaled PS2 version will look more pixelated at HD resolution

Yeah but they never said anything about tracks and also in any previews. But all previews do mention about two variations of cars. I have also seen some GT5 video where car specifications was blank. So it probably it is just menu nothing else

Standard cars are just upscaled from GT4 and GT PSP. They look a lot worse than GT HD cars.

Just look at this GTHD vid:

GT HD cars will be PREMIUM cars in GT5 for sure.

And Standard car:

800 standard cars, 200 premium. Thank you! Still happy :) I think the reason for this is that, sadly the PS3 is very hard to write code for.. Lots of technical setbacks. But C'mon! Finally we have almost all the info we wanted! It's a lot to digest :) I'm really looking forward to playing this game now...

Very good read (and English lol!), you just expresed exactely my words! What they have done is just not PD, I don't understand it either completely...

They just weren't able to do all of the things they set out to do... It happens all the time. I'll still buy the game and I'll enjoy it too :D I think they have really really worked hard to give us as much as possible.
