So happy to see a used car dealer

I just hope this forum gets a little more quiet in the coming days...
It's so full of whiners!
I'm stressing out thinking PD would delay the game another year to add more cockpits.. NIGHTMARE.
i'm already very happy with what they're offering at the moment!
And I'm sure Kaz has still a surprise or two on his sleave

I care less about cockpit view too... IMO the field of view is too narrow, and if you use a racing rig like i do then it just feels weird to look at two steering wheels. Bring it on PD!

I think there is a massive placebo effect going on here. People saying they are worse than GT4 cars, then people saying they are worse than GT3 cars.

The cars look fine, easily on par with those of other racing games. I think if the premium cars were not announced yet the opinion of the 'standard' cars would be far more positive.

Why do you bother to look at the wheel your holding?
I just feel the wheel turning and respond as necessary as I do when I drive a real car.
Just my thoughts.

Anyone else thinking that the "Premium" tracks we have been seeing are ones that have been completely re-done or are brand new? And the non-premium tracks will be HD enhanced GT4 models, just like the standard cars?

I think that way yes...
Unfortunately:)
But saw a hd version of gt4 la sarthe this morning, and was looking okay to me..
big difference with gt4

I still think that all cars will have cockpit views on the same (not worse) level like Prologue does.

If I'm wrong, under the premium you can add one more car:

300 SL

Picture of that cockpit is now 3 years old, just like the Fiat 500 one...

Maybe but I think premium tracks are the ones that allow day/night transition and the standard tracks will have preset time.

From where did the premium track talk come ?

They said that all tracks will look much superiror from GT5P. Why differentiate tracks as premium or not ? Only in one of the videos the menu had it but has anyone read about it elsewhere

PS: Thanks for the pic Ranko_SD  I love that car hope it is premium but it looks good nevertheless.

Fair enough, but still it feels weird to me. But the biggest point is, that for example when I drive my real car, especially when driving fast I don't even notice the inside of the car. When I concentrate, all I see is the road. This is not possible (at least not with 2d) in a game. Or you'd have to sit 10" form the screen. If you have a big enough screen in 3d or even 3 PS3's with 3 screens, then IMO the cockpit view becomes usable.

A lot of people likes the cockpit view, because they say it is more realistic, but I think that it is more difficult than reality. Unless you have those things mentioned above. IMO a hood view gives more realism according to what I feel when driving a real car fast. You kind of put your eyes "out there".

It came up some time ago,
I bet at the 24H Nürbürgring,
the demo there said "premium track"

No. Definitely, it is coming this November :)

I think GT6 will come in 2 years with say, 500 premium cars and more tracks, weather effects

The good thing is, they have 200 premium cars and however many tracks they have created already. They also have a very good physics engine, a night/day cycle, a good crash/damage engine, a possible weather system (Providing they get it working on the hardware, which must be difficult when they're already pushing it's limits) etc.

All you need to do for GT6 is make many more premium cars, tracks and add a livery editor.

PD are playing the long game with these future proof premium models...

The way I see it, there are two things PD can do:

1) Release GT5 in November, then continually release more premium cars (Whether updated from standard or new) as DLC. Do this until they get development tools for the PS4 to work on GT6. Bearing in mind the premium car models are future proof, they only need to work on updating tracks and the graphics and physics engines to utilise the more powerful hardware for the next game.

or

2) Release GT5 in November (They have no choice in the matter of the release date, I want to make that clear). Then start production for GT6 on the PS3, simply adding more cars and tracks, but using the GT5 engine as a base. They cannot extract much more out of the PS3 hardware, so again it would simply be adding more content, as most of the difficult programming work is already there.

That is news to me. There is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't give us all of the GT4 circuits in addition to the new ones. In the past it was dismissed at the argument that "KY is a perfectionist and wouldn't allow it". But 4/5 of the cars aren't up to his high standards... and that didn't stop those getting in the game. We could have asked him this at E3, why didn't we think of this before :ouch:

The upscaled Nurburgring that we saw before they unveiled the GP track in the demo, was of excellent quality to begin with. If they did that with all the GT4 tracks I would be thoroughly pleased. They could even upscale a couple of GT3 circuits... *Cough Complex String cough*

This is what I am talking about. Here you have someone saying a GT4 car looks good when it was presented as a premium car.

Quoting myself from the E3 thread:

My theory is that all tracks can have both Standard and Premium mode. Once a track is in Premium mode, only Premium cars can race. When that same track is in Standard mode all car types (so both Premium and Standard) can race at the same time, but without the features unique to Premium cars.
We will know all the details soon enough (that is between now and November 2nd) ;)

The beginning with all the american muscle cars, when they go by and there's this zippy, high pitched noise, what in god's name is that? Why does it sound like a civic?

You're joking, right?

No, I'll make a thread for this in the GTPSP section for this argument

I am 40 and this is the unique forum in which I ever post comments.
I don't want to be seen as a too strict person, because I am not, but I think there should be a way to limit the new threads, especially in this period they are growing as mushrooms (Italian expression).

I was thinking that maybe we could have more sticky Threads for restricted discussions (Online/Damages/Tracks/Photo Mode/Nascar/Rally)

It is just my opinion, I am sure you already had this thoughts before (I am a pretty recent member).
What do you think?

Many members said that, do you really think that PD release a DLC of 800 cars? and they loose the oportunity to add new cars to the game?

@Zimmerd, ok but I do not think we can conclude anything from that menu since there is no other evidence. Denur post makes lot of sense.

Haha ... yes 300SL looks good but not the SLS AMG, good

lol no. Your list is wrong.

Standard cars are not GT4 cars upscaled. They will have better models than those. It will be better than GTHD surely.

Also in the montage video of standard cars I think you can see 16 cars.

There is nothing knows as standard tracks. GT5 is one game with both premium and standard cars having same tracks
Yes they are. Remember that the original gt4 cars were downscaled for the ps2.
