I'm Italian and translated to us what was written on the official website is that GT will have the inside view but you can not turn your head inside the cabin and the interior are not perfect models as premium
Interestingly, this would make perfect sense and fit with everything we have learned so far. But I have to ask: where does this information come from? There is no GT5 feature list yet on the italian GT website, and the japanese website (which should be the most up to date and accurate one) only states that there is no interior view for standard cars, but provides no further details.

This is my first post here.

I'm new to the GT franchise so I was just wondering about the steering wheels. Do they impact much on the game? Or do they just make it more fun?

Also what's with GT3 or GT4 being a terrible version or something? I can't exactly remember what was said.

Enzo's listed above "Premium" and the Veyron isn't there. Maybe you're thinking of the Audi R8 LMS with the Playstation livery.

Pretty sure the Veyron is a premium

Does anyone know, if GT5 will have improved Force Feedback over GT:5 Prologue? As much as I like this game, I really do wish it would have better force feedback. I don't say that it's bad, but it just is not as good as with some PC racing simulations.

The Time Trial over Christmas felt better than Prologue. And will probably feel better than that once GT5 is out

GREAT IDEA from a Neogaf thread:

"About the 32 player lobbies...

Could this mean 16 drivers with optional passenger for each car? Chat between driver and passenger? Swap drivers during pitstop? That would be ****ing awesome."

SWAP DRIVERS during pitstop: great, great, great idea!!!!!!!!!!!
Listen to us polyphpny... that would be a fantastic mode for all sort of official tournaments (GT Academy?) and endurance races!

Yeah that sounds cool. But nobody knows everyone are guessing now. The game is still in development and they haven't said anything precisely

I'm with ya on that. Gotta assume they've been improving the force feedback over the last three years, perfectionists as they are.

If I remember correctly, those were GT PSP images so it doesn't confirm much in GT5. But seeing it's a fairly new car, it will be a premium car anyway.

The PSP cant get anywhere near that level of graphical quality.

lol, we discussed this ages ago. To death. We think premium cars will show interior damage. (Hood crumpling up in the cockpit view. Cracked windshield, etc.)

As much as we would love this, they haven´t showed anything like this. I don´t buy the "old build" excuse because if they had something more advanced, they would have shown.

We will probably just get bumpers and doors falling a a little deformation in some panels.

Not even the headlights break, nor the windshield. It´s very, very little compared to the claim of real damage.

I just hope the mechanichal damage is there and effective. I don´t wanna see people wallriding and then keep running with just a "twitchy" car. It´s time to introduce DNF´s, at least on professional.

As for the HUD discussion, it´s new, because we never had the option to turn off the G-force thing, the speedometer, the tachometer and the gear indicator.

It´s a new option. If you add that and disable the map, then it´s a pretty clear HUD. (just needs extra option to take off lap times).

No ... GT3 and GT4 were great game of their time and still are good in some ways I think.

I do not know about wheel either but it sure gives more immersion feeling. Having said that controller are mostly used, so it should also be fine.

It's a high-res render of the PSP car, if this means anything, it's more an indication that it's Standard. Just like the Countach and the PlayStation R8 LMS. I just hope the Furai will be Premium.

Look closely.PSP even at high-res is nowhere near of this.

I find it odd how they always dodge the BIG question. "Will there be cockpit view for all cars". Jeff Rubenstein replies to a question about how many tracks there will be saying there will be 40 tracks and 100 layouts, but most of the questions asked there (probably 90% of them) are about the cockpit view issue and there is still no reply. Chris the Associate Producer dodged the question at E3, Kaz dodged the question on the twitter interview. Hmmm.....

On the same note, the feature lists on the official Japanese and US-American Gran Turismo website are absolutely identical in everything but the one sentence that is absent in the American version: "The standard car doesn't support an interior viewpoint".

Actually, I did remember it. And I'm sorry for the rest of you that didn't remember or didn't follow GT when GTHD came out, but, they did seem pretty adamant about having super-high detailed Premium cars and somewhat detailed Standard cars back then. Doesn't surprise me they didn't change it. Even if GT5 had come out then, I'm sure the cars we're about to get in November would be the same if it had come out already.

And maybe they pulled a Darwin: Not publishing the whole "standard" cars thing, because they new people would whine and cry about it. I think that if GT5 came out with them only revealing the Premium cars and not even mentioning it, there would be less crying and complaining about it 'cause the one's who were upset would be the ones that would give the rest of us they're used copies.

I for one am thrilled by the prospect of 1000 cars. I mean, no other game am I going to dent and ding and scrap and roll and race around the Top Gear Test Track? It's all the little details that are hanging everyone up. yeah, 80% of the cars aren't going to be as nice as the other 20%, but it's 1000 cars. Sure there may not be cockpit views in some of them (which still really isn't confirmed, yet) but GT4 didn't have cockpits, either. It's not like you're so used to having a cockpit view or anything.

It's been five years and the making, and for those who keep saying they've left stuff out...what stuff? They didn't tell you that all the cars were going to have interiors, did they? They didn't say there was going to be 1000 premium cars, did they? I mean, it would seem that they haven't left out much. And all of the features still haven't even announced yet. and there's still five months to go. The game isn't even finished yet. How about we all wait until the final game comes out and then we can say what we like and don't like about it. I have a feeling, though, that there won't be that much we don't like about it in the end.

That's what is bothering me. They mentioned it once, and kept quiet all these years. If their fear was people being turned off by the idea, then I think it backfired on them. If they kept mentioning standard cars along the premiums, it wouldn't be as big of an issue. The way they went about it, is my gripe with them.
Like I said, 1000 cars is still 1000 cars.

^ True dave. PLUS, saying that GTHD would feature a lot of unfinished cars was very expected since it was planned to release in a much shorter time-frame. But it's been years since then so it has come as more of a surprise.

Well at least they are feeling the pressure. However many they have done right now, the important thing is they know how much we want it! 👍

If you counted the duplicates, how many cars are there? I mean for example in GT4 I can't remember the total car count but if you were exclude all the different versions, for example Skyline GT-R V-Spec and Skyline GT-R Nur Edition, or V-Spec II or Civic this or Civic that, do you think if you tally them up it will come to about 200?

True, however those screens are promotional PSP screens.

Yes.And it's oblivious.Veyron=premium.

It most likely will be.

I had said that a few pages back or in another thread.

There could be standard cock-pits for all the trucks/SUV's, vans, LMP cars, tiny box cars, etc. Not that hard (only about 10 or so needed). They just got to take into account the height and width of the car. What's harder to believe is that PD hadn't thought of that (or maybe they have).

But there won't. Manufacturers wouldn't let their car's being represented with fake interiors.
It would be easy to do this, but I don't believe all the manufacturers would agree to share generic interiors among each other.

Dont know if is posted but i read this on the spanish Playstation official website

Gran Turismo 5 is an adventure much richer, comprehensive and exciting than the players can expect a series like Gran Turismo, which has always been identified with the creation and innovation. Gran Turismo 5 will not only provide a collection of cars and tracks much more complete if possible, than the previous versions, but also offers new graphical effects that improve the quality of play, such as damage, night races or climate.

These innovations are presented along with the option to join millions of individuals around the world within the community to explore the Gran Turismo driving experience that you like: take the test track of Top Gear, the car stunt across the stage, driving a kart, create and share your own circuit, or participate in intense races against other users. Who, where and how to drive only the player decides.

This time, Gran Turismo is not just about the ultimate driving adventure, but the final game.
