I think Eiger is on this area in Switzerland. :)

Go on google earth you can see the train station etc..

Eiger is a fictive track.

Probably not the same thing, but you can use the coordinates to poke around and see what kind of scenery is in the area.

If you go a bit more southwest (toward bottom of pic), there are some roads that loop together. You can see them on satellite or GE, but not on the plain Google map. Some of them could be dirt roads!

Anyways, don't want to get caught up in too much speculation. Here's to less than 4 months of it!

I've noticed in these demos the competition seems a bit more even. Like if you grab a SuperGT car, you race against SuperGT cars, if you grab a NASCAR, you race against NASCARs, etc. Although, we have seen Rally cars racing against SuperGT cars, I hope that this is true for every race in GT5. I'd be awesome to grab the Stealth McLaren, head over to the Sunday cup and race against similar cars...or grab the NASCAR and head over to the FR series and race against NASCARs. It'd make the game a bit more challenging.

That's what the performance points system is for. It's quite a simple method to avoid entering races with overpowered cars.

In my opinion completing GT Mode should be an accomplishment showing versatility in driving all kinds of vehicles, high and low-powered. Completing all races with one type of car would be against that principle. So I'm hoping they'll put in PP restrictions in a nice variety.

Yeah, there are a few different possible locations for that scene in the screen cap from the video. It is possible that the road is completely fictional even if the location itself is not, and there is no way to know for sure until November 2.

Considering we have already seen portions of the track, I wouldn't be surprised if we get more info at Gamescom. 👍

Anyone else waiting to be 20000th poster? :D

I wonder if PD finished polishing the game by now, and everyone at the building is partying and drinking to get rid of all stress. Well, it's about PD I'm talking they're probably finishing the game and/or planning GT6. Get a life KY.

NEW INFO!!!

Nah j/k ;) But it's nice to look back on the first post from over 3 years ago.
- All cars and tracks of GT4 will be in GT5
- more cars and tracks should be downloadable
- 4 driving views
- damages for the race cars
- All Ferrari + F1
- new city tracks
- online drivers : 12 to 20
- changing weather during race

I wonder why we don't assume that is true anymore? Especially the portion regarding tracks.

because half that information is now incorrect:
- Only a couple F1 cars will appear in the game due to licensing issues.
- 16 players in an online race (but up to 32 in the "lounge")

And we don't know what else is wrong.

that said, the 4 views should be promising: chase, hood, bumper and cockpit. :P

Regarding 32 in a room: If you split it even, thats 16 cars on track and the other 16 to spectate the race.

Edit: Wooooo! post #20000!! I'll take my $60,000,000 and coupon to Bennigans now:D

Yes, but not we know that all cars won't have 4 camera views either:/

Not nesseccarily. Even if Standard cars DON'T have cockpit views, they could replace it with something so you don't go from a cockpit view to a chase view. (unless you're racing the Nissan GT-R Prototype.)

Seems like it. It also sounds like, if everyone's doing a track day, when someone slips into the pits to tune their car, someone else can jump out onto the track.

The fact track days are even confirmed is awesome. Non-competitive driving, around the Nurburgring, messing about or putting in hotlaps, whilst talking to the other drivers through your headset (I'm guessing this very basic of features is going to be in...), absolutely immense!

+1 👍

That will probably be my favorite feature. I know I can learn a lot by following better racers around the track. It's one thing to watch a replay, but actually being on the track at the same time is going to be a blast.

Yea this community will get a LOT of use out of track day. Testing someone's tunes, having a friendly race, checking someone's lap, etc.

Hopefully the pits play a big part and they really make it feel like everyone is just hanging out in pit lane. That would be awesome.

Edit: Also, in regard to spectator mode, I think we should set up a neighborhood watch. People take shifts watching random races and collecting names of people who race unfairly.

Indeed. This is something I'm really looking forward to. Just hanging out with other GTP'ers and driving whatever car you like.
