It's actually 3/7 rear bias.

Well yes technially, it is up to 2/3 rear bias because it can vary. Some computery stuff happens and the Torque balance changes depending on the weight balance/distribution, throttle application etc. But yeah, it's not as grippy on the front end as say an Evo or an Impreza, which is why it's not a good example (And like I said, GT5Ps physics are outdated so no point comparing the R8 with the one from that to be honest).

Nothing new but I post it just for create some discussion:
Ten reason why GT5 could succed or fall short:
5 elements that could make GT5 incredible
1-World Rally Championship/NASCAR
2-Graphics.
3-Passion.
4-Night-time racing/Weather.
5-Simulation
elements that could hold GT5 back
1-Lack of a gimmick.
2-Online.
3-Damage.
4-Career.
5-Hype.

will you lift on the follow through?

Depends which car i'm in!! :)
I just cant wait lol
I'll be shouting " Powerrrrrr!! " all day long , as long as nobodys watching ! lol
I wonder how the Stig will be involved because he's in the trailer .. Maybe you can race against him

They said in first segement that t10 made a great sim but in last part they say that forza and GT are not sims because you can not drive in pits. No words about things that matter like steering aid or high grip on normal tyres. Yes thay said that these games are not sims in numerous of reasons but they do not care to mention them WHY!? If they do not tell e.g t10 what is wrong, they won't fix it. Maybe the F3 vs GT5 shootout gives us some answers other than driving in pits :)

He did mention the steering aid. He said there's no artificial intelligence controlling your car in PC sims when you turn the options off but the console games still do.

It's good they acknowledge that GT and Forza are not sims. I'm sure when they played Forza recently for this recap after playing their PC sims for months that the penny dropped and seen they got carried away.

Real damage FTW

Haha I saw that live on german TV and my first thought was "Would be a dream if it looked like this in GT5"
But I'm confident that we will be getting closer to such crashes with the following GT games 👍

Fortunately no one was hurt...unlike our egos when we sim-crash :P

Granted, I've never been confronted with a crashing, tumbling, car barrelling down on me, but........At what point did those corner workers think, " yeah! I can out-run this thing." Glad all were unharmed.

Has anyone got handy the comparison picture of the same "standard" car that was in GT4 up against the newer version in GT5? Pretty sure they were identical bar the lighting system?

Well, I'm sure his ego was absolutely crushed. Considering he even made it in the race, he's certainly a great driver, and it's a shame that it came to this. Does anyone know who that was? I certainly hope he's still at it today.

Back OT: Has anyone seen skidmarks recently? It looked almost as if there were some in the E3 trailer, and in the demo videos there was (as far as I saw) no skidding, let alone skidmarks.

the crash happened over the weekend
Click the video, all the info is there.

Ok. I have not noticed any artifical permanent aids with GT. Physics can allways be more accurate but i do not think GT has done something like F3 did with steering aid.

To an extent they did and always do with the controller users. This became very, very apparent with the TT event. Suddenly the silky-smooth steering from Prologue (effectively stick angle = force on wheel, resistance = speed, which explains the slower turning at higher speeds and the snap back steering when trying to slide or correct just as you start to spin) was gone and replaced by an almost (not quite) 1:1 steering, which proved impossible, because 1:1 steering with a thumbstick was never going to compete with the 1:1 steering on a new Logitec G27.

Beyond that, there's no 'sensing someone is trying to drift so the game will steer for them' or 'players don't want to take little jabs at countersteering so the game does that too' nonsense. Thank god.

There is one.

Ever been onto the grass or gravel? Permanent traction aid.

Nothing to do with the physics however, just thought i'd give the forza fanboys some ammo. Helping them on their way to a ban 👍

Don't know if this info is new, but CVG mentions in a news that only the 200 cars with cockpits support head-tracking. So, no cockpits for standard cars confirmed?

What about this bit:

GT5 will feature over 1,000 cars - with 200 never before seen in a GT game

Something doesnt add up. 200 cars with cockpits. 200 never before seen. So 200 premium with cockpit, a percentage of which will be never before seen. So the rest of the never before seen, will be modelled to be standard!?

Nahhhhh.

Either, there are 200 'premium' cars never before seen, meaning the Prologue/GTHD etc cars arent premuim. Just highly detailed standards..

Or...

The 'Official' Playstation magazine messed up,.. again!

Which is most plausable!

But he failed to mention that there's no artificial intelligence controlling your car in GT prologue or 5 when you turn the options off.

so saying GT5 is not a Driving simulator with no reasons, is totally off.

I think 200 is just a rounded number.

I was trying hard but i think i failed to explain myself

What i meant was, if there are 200 brand new to GT cars, then they will have been modelled from scratch!? Thats what i assume. There for, if they were modelled for GT5, they would be premium yes?

Well thats all the premium cars accounted for then.. 200, or there abouts.

There are what, 70 cars in prologue alone? (i'm rounding some numbers now :D) Minus those from the premiums and you are left with 130 brand new cars. IF there are 200! brand new cars, then CVG are suggesting 70 of them are standard.

I think i failed again.. maybe someone else can explain what i mean :ouch:

They were talking about the pin lanes only. Even with ALL aids turned off in GT, the game still takes over the controls in the pit lane. At least they do for prologue anyway. Its anyones guess what GT5 will be like.

I don't understand, why they ignore the other stuff outside the pit lane? lol

Anyways

That Mercedes GT5 competition is only in UK?
