How about NOT hitting a wall in the first corner...:yuck:

BTW black Ferrari damaged LOL.
And some nice sparks!

How about you being grateful that you have a new video? I'm happy that you're so much better than all these people posting videos, for your enjoyment, but no need to point out they can't drive as well as you fir every single video. Does him hitting the wall take so much from the video that you have to moan about it?

What is so "stealth" about those pre-order cars?

Nothing at all. The F1 stealth car looks fairly ugly in the shots.

But I'm no judge! Wait, yes I am. It surely doesn't look too attractive. It's a carbon fiber sandwich. But.... I can see why it has some appeal. I can.

Maybe it's a bit harder to get (like collect 600 cars and then you'll get it) but to unlock a car the normal way has not much to do with an "easter egg".

I think the F1 could be the car given out after completing the GT World Championship. Maybe not. Perhaps it'll be the car you win after completing the Super Car series or those races with the odd titles like "Fly Like the Wind". You know?

Hmm that pic of the mclaren leaves a nice space to enter your own racing number.
More hints to a livery editor?

ALMS G-Oil team uses GT5 sim at Petit Lemans. (scrole down the page in the link a bit)

http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/alms-lime-rock-friday-notebook1/

They seem to have taken the GT5 sim, and programed a "green" techometer into it. Below is a quote from the article.

The simulation uses the Gran Turismo 5 arcade racing game for the Sony PlayStation 3 as the outlet, and a team of developers who have integrated portions of the MICHELIN® GREEN X® Challenge.

Fans can test out the simulator at all remaining U.S. rounds of the series, at Lime Rock, Mid-Ohio, Road America and Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

From what I can tell, it's basically the GT5 demo that we've seen since TGS, but you can only drive the Corvette ZR1 around the Nurburgring. (added to that, what I find kinda useless, the "green" techometer.

Second quote

“We started with Gran Turismo for PlayStation, because we didn’t want to develop an entire race simulator out of scratch,” he said. “So we made a system that sits on top of the PlayStation game, and it watches you play. With that information, like vehicle/engine speed, it runs this through the actuality of what the vehicle would be doing – say gasoline versus E85 and the differences between that.
“It also implements a hybrid system so it recharges the battery in the system,” Bocci added. “This allows you to have the boost functionality in the game. It’s the same equation used in the MICHELIN® GREEN X® Challenge to give you a Green Racing Score.”

It's a joke man! 👍

"The simulation uses the Gran Turismo 5 arcade racing game for the Sony PlayStation 3"

thee hee

Slight hypocrisy there. If Gran Turismo 5 was an "arcade racing game," then why exactly would their top of the range "simulator" be utilising its physics engine?

I guess it hasn't occured to some of you that the average joe Journalists always refers to games as "arcade" or Video games". Also, the Arcade jokes aren't funny.

Regarding the Stealth Mclaren F1:

Honestly, ugly does not come to mind. Plain and nothing special, yes but thats also why I don't see whats ugly about it. If you ask me, the livery (if thats what you want to call it) is abit too simple to be ugly and I say this as a active painter, but the same can be said about the Mercedes SLS Stealth car and the Ford GT LM in GT5P:

So to say its "offensive" just comes off to me as borderline overreactive.

Ugly or beautiful are highly subjective opinions which cannot be rationalized by saying it is too simple to be either ugly or beautiful.
Simple things or simple changes can be either ugly, beautiful or neutral depending on the subjective judgement of an individual.
Besides even a simple or small change can make an enormous difference.

So I can't say (or feel) that its too simple to be ugly? I didn't say it was fact, I stated my opinion hence why I say "if you ask me".

You can say whatever you want, just found it a bit strange that you said it was too simple to be ugly as I don't think they're automatically related to each other.
Both are opinions ofcourse and I replied more in general without making very clear ( or at all ) my reply was an opinion too.
Sorry for that.:)

I think the Stealth Cars look okay.
The Ford GT from Prologue looks a bit "better" because of a couple of more details, it's not only black, bot the whole body looks like carbon fibre, it has a couple of more decals and the big white "Good Year" on the tires. The Stealth Cars look a bit like privateer race cars from a small GT series or something.

Tbh I think the lighting is well off in those pictures.

True, because that's not a in-game image, with the extra lighting effects and gloss from the game engine, it looks more like a basic render from 3DS Max or a similar program, made up quick for the image it was needed for.

Chris.

Interesting that the Ford GT in those pics has its number designated, but not the GT5 cars..!

Essentially, its been carried over from GT4(although cleary improved looking at the dive planes and the undertray at the rear) and if I recall, its based on the Autoart car that was made along with the white one.
