The HUD may be in "simple" mode. You could do the same thing in GT4, where the position would only show up at sector lines and the S/F. Though in GT4 this would also get rid of the gear suggestion.

Is that option available in Prologue? If so, what effect does it have on the HUD?
You cannot turn the HUD off in prologue. I'd really like to do this, I'd even make it obligatory for online races I'd host if I could :)

Why cut the legs out from under the profit machine then? The PS3 doesn't need help selling right now. I could see them doing it when sales slow down, but if it's finally getting them in the black, I don't know why they'd want to stop that prematurely.

Plus, it may be more than it's competitors, but it does offer more...

You know, you and dave seem to bitch about everything anyone says. Especially if it's positive info about GT5.

"Standard cars have interiors"

You and dave: "No they don't, stupids."

"Less than 100 days until GT5 comes out"

You and dave: "Well, it's not tomorrow, is it?"

Didn't your mothers ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?

I wouldn't want to be apart of a forum that's only allowed to say positives.

I like the openess around here.

Just my opinion.

The beginner mode has track days instead of races, as shown in the various 24 Nurb demo footages

I just saw the new videos in the news page, and I dont know about anyone else but the AI seems to have gone back a step.

I noticed everyone was being made to play on beginner level, and maybe that has something to do with it. But the videos we've seen before seemed to have gotten rid of the age old cars running into the back of you mallarcky. The NASCAR didnt even try to avoid that dude, they just plowed right on through :ouch:

Maybe that's linked to the AI names? So that dudes like Bob, Bill or Joe are driving worse than Jayden's or Montgomery's

Agree as I don't want to be known as a PD cheerleader only, besides in real life I always like the grumpy ones more than those "new-age" positive thinking ones.

Not only in real life.....;)

no, u cant alter any hud options on gt5p, ive tried in vein to get rid of that annoying rear view mirror that appears when you're playing 2p. Lol. Poxy thing.

Please do yourself and all of us a favor by typing in proper English, with correct spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Not only is it part of the rules to which you agreed, but it is the main reason that these forums remain consistently readable despite having well over 100,000 members.

Thank you.

What I don't like about this video is how during the pre-race lineups they have the first names of fictional drivers driving real NASCAR cars. I don't really care for the idea of having the fictional first names in the first place, but I'm not going to complain about something so insignificant. However, why didn't they put the drivers' names of the actual drivers of each respective NASCAR car?

I must say I would find it pretty awkward, if we get fictional first name drivers in any race except if it is a cup race with all the same cars.

How on earth will anyone remember what kind of car just passed what other car when you get a message saying that Dave just passed Tim?? And that's the only thing that's important, which type of car is catching up, I don't want to become friends with an imaginary driver.

Didn't this happen last time Sony dropped the price of the PS3?

E3:
MS: We're dropping the price of our Xbox 360

Sony: We're not dropping the price of the PS3

TGS:
Sony: We're dropping the price of the PS3 and giving you eight more SKUs.
First: E3 to TGS was a relatively short time for Sony to create all new SKUs, considering each new SKU must be retested and certified by the FCC as well as a few other licensing processes. To make TGS we would be getting any leaks regarding that by now. All that has come out is a few patents regarding peripherals.

And unless I missed something, your example isn't what is happening this time. Microsoft released a new SKU as a slim model with some new features added, at the same price as their current models, which is the same price as the current PS3. They lowered the price on fat models in order to sell the remaining stock. Current "new" and what I call complete 360s are on the same price scale as they have been for the last year or so.

There is a new replacement for the Arcade model also, that comes with no hard drive, but 4GB of storage so that it can be bundled with Kinect at a reasonable price for the family market. I doubt that will affect Sony's PS3 pricing because they have yet to attempt to attack the Arcade model. So, unless Sony is planning an even more bare bones model I don't foresee a price cut.

To add to my reasoning: Sony was having a supply problem until recently, which says that their current pricing structure is well in line with what market supply and demand says they should be doing.

If Microsoft were truly cutting prices then I would say your reasoning is sound, but the only cuts are on what is now excess stock of discontinued models.

This video is not available :guilty:
Anyone else getting this message ?
Maybe its because I'm in Germany ?

I received an email that said, "due to the audio track I used, this video has been disabled in Germany", and Germany alone. Sorry.

Laughing Out Loud.
Stop saying questionable things and I'll stop replying to you. Simple as that. Doesn't help that every few weeks your brain seems to reset and you just post the same things you did the previous month.
Me pointing out your errors is not the same as me replying to you just for the sake of saying something negative.
I also don't recall calling people names so I'd appreciate it if you didn't "quote" me as doing so. That is against the AUP.

I think it was ok at least he was not ramming the car in front. Also the other video was even better will good driving and nice clean battle with AI

Its simply because standards will not have interiors,PD told us by themselves and its also unlikely to get cockpits, there is still 3 moths while publishers make their stuff, nothing that he said is offensive and in this case the guy that is in fact offensive is you, people also have to learn to be factual, not just delusions, this is also a space for criticism and debate, not just praising something that(as everything)is not perfect.

Show me where either of us said either of those things. I'm pretty curious.

In the same vein as what Dave said, stop posting questionable/illogical things and you'll probably notice I won't have a response.

My mom did indeed... when it was about other people, personally. She also taught me this handy one that started with "Better to appear wise..."

Quickly getting back to the sparks...

Just reading trough the GT us website list of features and found this.

" sparks fly from hard collisions"

From what we have seen so far the sparks fly from a rub or just a nudge. Could it be possible that only for the demo they cranked up the sparks just to showcase the effects?

My appologies if it has been already discussed to death.

i´ve a question, on July 7th, 2010 was a News with WIND in Gran Turismo and that wasn´t a glitch, take Gran Turismo 5 PROLOUGE and drive a few rounds on Suzuka, now watch the replay and look at the grass, youll that there will be wind if your near the grass, ^^ if this is already known, sry, just wanted to say it

It certainly could be a possibility, just as they did with the reduced Damage and sped up Day-to-Night Transition. Keep in mind that its not hardcore sim players trying these out most of the time, its the casual players.

And it is possible that I could be wrong.

http://gamervision.com/users/jonathan_h_cooper/articles/ps3_move_bundle_to_come_in_two_sizes_

Rumors of a new 320GB PS3 for the new Move bundle and a cheaper version using the current 120GB model, with the possibility of the 120GB model getting a price drop.

If these are true your theory might not be too far off, although I still don't see a console + GT5 bundle being in the $200-$250 range. I always pictured that being something along the lines of a wheel bundle of some sort.

That "wind" is the effect of you driving past the grass, not "wind"...

Not only in real life.....;)[/QUOTE]

Sorry for the OT :indiff:.... BUT, I totally forgot about that show! What's it called? :dopey:

Well, its not really you making wind, its the aerodynamic "wake" behind your car... so in a sense, it's kind of wind, but its not really wind in the sense of "weather"...

I am curious if GT5 is going to have accurate drafts, will drafting an F1 car in an SUV not work? I mean in real life, an F1 Car has a pretty small wake, but an SUV has a bigger wake. And I don't think you could effectively draft a F1 car in something as big as a Truck or SUV.
