Some of those cars, quite a lot actually, are Premium.

Yes, but quite a lot are also standards for instance, look at that audi at 1:10 its definitely standard because it is the same car pictured right here

All I know is those cars beyond GTPSP's graphics

Well regardless, I'm sure alot of those cars will be in GT5. HOWEVER, can anyone identify the car @ 1:21ish? It looks like Venturi from the back kinda and if it is, I'm gonna have a heart attack because I find that particular vehicle very sexy. Also, it KINDA looks like an M1.

Its an old Mitsubishi rally car I think

I have to ask, and? This is nothing new.

What do you mean 'and'? If they are examples of standard cars then we have more understanding of what standard cars will look like. Doesn't matter if its not new, it could be something that become more usefull now, now that we know there are ported cars in GT5 called standard cars, back then we wouldn't have acknowledged it, but now I just did.

My bad, I quoted the wrong person, but Ive edited it now.

Great observation!
This defenitely gives us some insight on the standard cars..

Thanks man, I remember when everyone first saw this intro and kept bashing at it, saying that its not the GTPSP graphics engine, its GT5. Now with the standard cars in the picture, it kinda makes more sense now.

Yeah, It does make sense. Around the beginning however (0:21), When you see the blue corvette (Wheels) they don't seem very detailed.. If this is standard car material then, it sure is pretty bad, However, Maybe that was a real gtpsp clip.. Maybe its my monitor or something...

Yellow Enzo on Nurb GP track from E3 - driving view looks interesting, not quite roof or bumper cam?
Looks like that AI glitch where one of them hangs right on the rolling start is still there
And then on the Madrid course in a red Audi R8

I guess I have missed this vid.. However it seems to me that at 1:40 you can see the premium and standard car on the track together even tho its for a secound...

It seems the Toyota AE86 is a standard car anyway..

Thats what I said! Some folks start saying the AE86 might be premium, from that video the windows looked blacked out which why i said its a standard car IMO 👍 If that is a standard car i think the standards look pretty good.

Believe around that time theres the Rally cars, but the cars on what I assume is Seattle, is the AC Cobra and what looks like a Viper.

Not really. You must remember that most cars shown in that trailer are premium in GT5.

I wouldn't say most either.. The countach's and the silver R8 are quick examples I could think of.. The toyota rally cars also looked quite standard, with blacked out windows too... Plus, It doesn't have to give insight on what cars 'are' standard, but the detail, in the standards. the cars near the beginning (0:20+, B&W), looked like they were premium however.

The Escudo and Mercedes are standard cars from GT4, as is the Toyota GT1

The no. 5 Audi R8 LMS on the Nurb is definitely a standard car as shown on PD's website. If you have the original HD version of the video you can see poly edges on it's wheel arches if you pause it, but in motion it looks fine and way better than anything in GT4

I know this video was posted before but Did anyone else noticed the glitch at 1:24? :nervous:

Keep in mind the game isn't even complete yet. I'm sure (and I hope) there is an optional install feature. I'd love that.

@ CoolColJ, those last shots are not GT5...

yes, but they are using "standard" GT4 car assets, all low poly and all, but the shaders make em look a lot better than you'd think

Check out the colour scheme on the Yellow Citroen GT - a possible hint? :)
And standard and premium cars shown together

If all standard cars will look like this, I am very very happy.
Because I do NOT consider this bad looking. They look like premium cars imo, minus the cockpits.

This is going to be a strange question...

Looking at the Audi R8, and the very obvious jagged edge of the wheelarch and several other areas, what's to stop the guy making the model from just hitting the SMOOTH MESH button.

There's logic behind this; it would make the cars smoother and look better

inb4 people complaining that it'd use too many poly's, etc.
Let's be honest here, it's not like the GT series has EVER had a problem with poly count. The latest ones are what, 400k+?
That Audo can't be more than 100k. There's no way. Maybe more like 50k or something.

Just hit smooth. Subdivide. I don't care what you call it. Make all the polygons split into 4. Then what, the cars will ALMOST have the poly count of GT5 Prologue (250k).
