Just a quick question. I've recently started playing gt since the gt 5 demo download for the ps3. Soon I'll be getting a ps3 of my own and I was wondering with the driving force wheel are you able to view the car from the outside like you are with the controller. That and how does it handle compared to using the analog stick with the controller. I really enjoyed playing the drift trials on the game and it won't be a deal breaker if it doesn't meet the standards that I have, but just a few questions that I have before I go out and purchase the wheel with the game. Someone please let me know.

A new Yamauchi interview:

Many questions, usual answers.

The only 'news' could be these ones:
- Nascar : Not all the tracks and cars will be present.
- Nascar : You will be able to race Nascar cars on not-Nascar tracks
- We will have GT6 and it will not take as long as GT5
- All the 1000 cars (they are aiming for that number) will be on the GT5 disk

Here is one thing that caught my eye:

Is GT5 more for the advanced player or can beginners play too?

We do have a setting for people who are just learning how to drive. The other setting is very strict, where even an F1 driver can learn new tricks from the system. However, a lot of driver's aids will be included, such as driving lines, ABS, automatic braking, you can reverse your game and record your laps and share them with others. All those things. They were not that difficult to implement.
Rewind?

Of course that GT6 will out sooner than GT5 they will have cars and track already made also damage and physics... So they just will upgrade game and made it even better!!!!

Haha still not clear about the track thing..
now it's called an environment in stead of a location.. LOL...
bet we'll only know on the release?:P

And heck, when will SCEA and SCEE give us information on the american and european release date?

It's rather vague, you could customise and tune cars in previous GT's aswell to different extents.

I think by "reverse your game", he means that you can delete your save file and start GT5 over if you want to.

I'm a bit surprised... it does seem he's saying rewind will be present. Not at all concerned though. :)

I just want SCEA and SCEE to give us a release date:( PLEASE:(
But maybe more info will come this week..
as SEMA is in the US,and most visitors are Americans...
SCEA can't ignore their customers.. but i bet they will do anyway

KY mentioned 2 very pleasing things and one disappointing blow to me

good stuff
1. KY said car CUSTOMIZATION, and not just the usual car tuning.
2. KY said the polygons per car were 400,000, which to my recollection is 2 times more than prologue. (correct if i'm wrong about that)

bab stuff
1. There won't be many NASCAR tracks and there will only be a select amount of NASCAR stack cars to chose from...

Customization is a broad term, technically GT4 had customization with rims and the wings.

bad stuff
1. There won't be many NASCAR tracks and there will only be a select amount of NASCAR stack cars to chose from...

1) It just says not all of them will be in.

2) There are technically only 4, the rest are just schemes.

Yes there are technically just 4 cars in NASCAR, but i've only seen 2 individual manufactures (Chevrolet and Toyota). So wheres Dodge and Ford? Thats what worries me. Plus the fact that we may have cloned cars, (meaning 2 or more of the same car running at the same time on the same track). If PD has the license to Nascar, why not make the majority of the cars.

The license just gives them logos. They have to work out individual deals with each driver, team and track.

This is why GT has had JGTC cars yet hasn't featured the actual series yet.

What I Want from GT5 that Wasn't in GT4:
More tracks
Be able to flip over
Damage
Visual modifying of car (bumper, paint etc.)
And a bit more cars.

People you can expect 40 NASCAR vehicle on track with this graphic!!!! For that you need to wait Playstation4 and Gran turismo 7...simply PS3 don"t have power for that...:sly:

Well if NASCAR is just as bad or worse than ea's version I won't care a much. (NASCAR at the Nurburgring will keep me happy). I can also look forward to driving in the LMS series, which i'm pretty sure PD has the license to. FM3 may have the ALMS license, but they didn't include the Audi R15 09' (which I'm assuming is a LMS car).

I hope due to the simpler shapes of the nascar cars they'll be able to squeeze a lot more than 16 cars on the track. Otherwise it would be kinda stupid having a nascar race with less than 30 cars.

100% agree

Okay.. and what has the shape of a NASCAR to do with it?
They use just as much polygons as any other car in the game.

SHHHH! Don't say those sort of things! What if Kaz reads that and the game is delayed another six months?!?! We've really gotta be more careful...

It's true, Nascar cars are really simple all around in terms of shape. Therefore could be full Nascar pole like in reality, because system utilisation could be for 30 nascars the same like for 16 ferrari cars.
