You have the year all figured out, eh?

Oh well, I'm not so inclined. Amazingly, during the holidays you have dozens of games releasing and it doesn't seem to matter. A few in the spring is no big deal, has happened before. GT4 released to the west in February.

By the way, for those afraid GT5 might not look so good, I'd like to see the shots of upcoming games that make you think so.

Well by the time GT5 is out in Fall or Dec 2010 we might already seen teasers of next gen console which will look better than this gen games hehe, thats what im afraid of, by the time GT5 is out so late, the looks of the game is already obsolete. Remember Gt2 and Gt4? The consoles is almost at its end of its life and next gen consoles where already been unveiled before they release those games. By the way if the game will be so much delayed I think the best option for Sony and PD is a update for GT5p with damage features and new cars or a PSN demo of GT5 with damage features.

What I truly wish is GT5 EU and USA release February before Japan, I think they can do it since March is just a few weeks difference. I think January the game is already finish but of course they will debug the game thats why it will be much later. December or Fall 2010 launch for Gt is the biggest mistake ever if Sony will do that. 3 big games at March is feasible since GOW3, FF13 and GT5 are three different Genres. And it will help Ps3 sales even more with 3 different bundles.

I think teasers of next gen are pretty unlikely tbh. MS are launching Natal on the 360 and not on a new console, and Sony are pretty clearly not going to be building a new machine anytime soon after the $4 billion they've lost on the PS3, and third parties don't want a new generation anytime soon.

Though PD would seem to be in the best position for next gen anyway, as on the surface at least, it looks like they won't need to remodel the cars for next gen to the extent they have for this generation as they are already extremely detailed.

That could be false, but looking at the detail of the cars now, it looks like it would just be a case of tweaking the shaders and models, rather than wholescale remodeling.

Dec 2010? thats gotta be false.. So I've got to sit n wait for another year.. stuck with some rubbish demo.. while these Geeks at PD mess around even more!? Just release it already for crying out loud.
No wonder people give up and buy Forza. This game is a joke!! 5 years!? Screw this, i'm not coming on this forum anymore this is crap. another whole year. It clearly is not rocket science.

I have a bad feeling due to schedule conflicts with GOW3 and Heavy rain, USA and EU will not see this game at march, I think a fall launch 2010 will hurt GT5 and ps3 since by that time gamers have already change there taste and also there will be new trends like natal and wand. But i still hope that Eu and USA version will be launch Feb.

FF13 in march and GOW3 in march very much kills GT5 launch in March so it will be a very frustrating FAll or DEc 2010

If you analyze the schedules of games , Gt5 will never be launch in EU or USA in March or April. And also most forums and Facebook rumor is a Dec 2010 launch. And knowing sony wants to make money, they have a belief that December 2010 for GT will make a lot of money

Yogaflame, are you the gaming expert hey!? because no-one here believes rumors they read on facebook. Well I don't anyway. I don't mean to come across as an arrogant person but for real.. I'm quite sure KY has promised a March 2010 for Japan.

I've read that the reason the rest of the planet has no release date YET is because of marketing issues but apparently the USA and EU release dates wont be far off the Japanese one.

Plus I strongly doubt that anyone is prepared to wait another year for it. No-one will wait 6 years for a video game. Think about it this way, it's going to have at the newest 2008 cars, possibly some 2009 ones. If they decide to wait to DECEMBER 2010 to release it some of the cars in the game, in real life will be all but obsolete or undergone a face lift by then.

And another thing, stop being so negative. Just because previous titles were delayed doesn't mean this one will be.

GT2 wasn't delayed, it was rushed. GT3 wasn't either, there was a GT game in between thoes two that was in development called GT 2000, which was supposed to be TG2 for the PS2 but it got canned and then GT3 was developed instead. There is no chance GT5 is releaing next christmas, it doesn't make sense to hold it for that long. Just because a couple of big games are releasing in March doesn't mean you have to wait 8 or 9 months to release the next big game. It will be most likely be an April, May or June launch.

You said Sony never release 2-3 big names at the same time period but I guess by releasing GoW3 and FF13 in the same month (of the same year), they're starting a new trend. Why aren't June a gaming month? As a matter of fact, Sony released GT4P for EU on May 28th. That's almost June. If you go further back, GT3 was release in July for both NA and EU markets. Both PD and Sony know that people are waiting for this game with great anticipation especially after the JPN release and they'll do the best to expedite the process. Regardelss, I'm pretty sure by the first week of April I'll have my first copy of GT5

It's not uncommon for a couple of big games to be released close to each other. Besides that, Sony arn't responsible for releasing games they don't publish like Final Fantasy. Ofcourse, there is co-operation to a degree with the 3rd party developers and publishers where big games are concenrned because no-one wants to lose sales, but if Sony decide to release GT5 in April over here and FF is released in March then that's what will happen.

GT5 has never been delayed because it has never had a date, now it does have one for Japan, still no World date.

GT2 was 1999 GT3 was 2001, they had what, like ONE delay of a few months?

GT4 2005- In staggered releases one month from each other starting with JP then NA then EU.

So if that repeats itself then we have 03-10 JP\04-10 NA and 05-10 for EU.

IF 12-10 happens this game better have everything and its mother included, full rally stages day night weather cycles all that...

The only region problems there would be is for online play. The PS3 is region free.

So when you buy Japanese version you can figure out how the physics works and start play single player campaingn. Then when EU or NA version will come you can jump and continue single player and start play online I think that I could not wait any longer when i will see gameplays from Japanese GT5 on youtube or something and you??

Thre will be a problem, because save from JP version won't work with EU/NA versions.

Hmmm so two options. First buy JP version and play till EU ver comes out . Buy EU ver and start from the beginning. Or two wait dont know how long and watch the gameplays how Japanese players playing?? I chose option no1.

I work in HMV (UK), we sell CD's, Movies and Games for those that don't know, and until recently our release date (on our stock system) was 9th December.

However, it has now changed to 10th April, which i think sounds reasonable...

As reasonable as that sounds, its probably just a guess.

HMV website says it's the 30th of April 2010.
Play is 5th of March

I will wait EU version of game because I don"t understand Japanese...and EU version will probable have more car"s than Japanese version. Same situation was with GT5 prologue!!!

I can wait for the NA version even a month after JP because we will already have looads of info here on GTP so it should keep me going until the official release in NA.
