Is it just me, or is a V8 the absolute worst sounding thing to put in a car that looks like that? The first time I saw it in prologue, I just called it the alien car.. Theres no doubting that the (concept!) car is pretty futuristic looking, and could possibly change some styling choices by citroen and other companys as well. Citroen already incorporate similiar looking head/tail lights. The V8 rumbles, and roars, I think a v12 or a V10 could do much better, "sounding how the car looks"... At first, I expected something that sounded like a murcielago, or maybe a slightly higher pitched M5...

I agree but since the engine sounds don't seem to be that great in the game anyway, won't really make a difference.

Sad but true...

With skid-marks on grass and backfires! 👍

Yes this is the one area am worried about. Has anyone heard anything about backfires? They were in GT4 missing from GT5p but i just figured that was a rushed job so i over looked it. However this late in the game and i still haven't seen it am starting to worry to be honest.:nervous:

But they are in GT PSP :sly:👍, I'm sure they will be in GT5.
What I'm worried about are brake rotors still not heating up. Now we also have night races so they MUST be in

Hopefully they won't overdo it like FM3 does. Pretty much heats up on any car at any speed if you just dab the brake on even for a short length.

A concept is something unique. The Citroen GT is just too immense to mass produce.

Just got a response from my local Best Buy, and here's what they have to say:

Best Buy

Sam

Thanks for the questions. This is being done in the latest transformation for stores.

As we don’t know exactly what is going to happen during this transformation, I can tell you ours is at the end of September. If it is not part of it, we will look into adding the demo, as I am sure a lot of people would like to try this game.

So I assume Best Buys all across the country will get the GT5 demo by the end of September, which is good news.

The most important thing, soundwise, to you is backfiring?

I see what you mean but to me it isn't really the styling but the combination of knowing it's a Citroën with a distinct V8 burble which seems a bit odd at first but I think I prefer it to the wooshing sound of the original Prologue version, combined with fact it now has a manual gearbox I might drive the new GT "road-version" more often than I did in Prologue.
However I did think watching that video that Ford wasted an huge opportunity with their GT, instead of the slightly enlarged and mildly visually updated carbon-copy GT40 it is now ( love the GT40, don't like the GT ), imagine a truly futuristic or at least more modern and original version to really scare the living daylights out of Ferrari and Lamborghini.
Instead of reliving past glory and going beyond retro ( by basically using the same design ) they should have attacked them full on ( in the present ) and created a dead cert future classic in the process in my opinion, ah well.

I'm curious if this Best Buy situation applies to us northerners in Canuckstan. Seeing on how the stores have generally been far behind the curve when it comes to pre-orders, release dates, and the collector's edition... I doubt it :(.

Well, I am planning on trying to find out if any of my local Best Buys have the demo, and if they do, I'm gonna try to head there and get some footage...

I don't know about you torontonians, I checked the Best Buy and Future Shop in Richmond, BC and we don't have the demo yet. I'm going to check the Best Buy downtown today to see if they've got the demo build set up.

Texted a buddy of mine in Mississauga, who called the Best Buy store there. No kidding, he texted me back with their response. The girl didn't know anything about a demo, but when he said the stores in the States are getting it, she blurted out "Well then, we should have it soon."

He said he started laughing, but the clerk didn't get what was so funny.

From the news page.
Check out the physics at 2:12, the car gets a nice jump to a 2 wheels for a split second at that bump! Man i cant wait to drive it myself

If there is one in downtown, Il head there later in the week... Although Hopefully they get one in a burnaby or coquitlam location!

Neither do I. :dunce: Can somebody explain it to me?
