Gymkhana and Auto X style courses.

This and skidmarks can take the fun to a whole new level.

It appears that way... Someone mentioned yesterday that there was no damage in his demo. But I can assure you it was real time damage and smudges. Sadly, for some reason the damage was not shown during the replays! (at least for the ferrari 458 Italia) The car looked in perfect condition while i was crashing against other cars

Do you think it probably means that they use different models for gameplay/replay?

Whether the above is true or not, it clearly proves this is real-time damage.

I took this with my Blackberry so the quality is bad :( Hopefully this gives you an idea of how the cars would look in the final build

Hmm... IIRC the car is made of CF right? If so do you think they accurately portrayed the characteristic of the material here i.e. it crumples and doesn't dent?

I hope we see dents and heavy hit metal in the old classics.

That was the first thing I noticed too, they might actually have considered the material of the panels to determine what kind of damage will be applied to each car, talking about PD, I'm genuinely convinced that this might be the case.

What the heck? Why is the video now called "IMG 1000000311"?

Wasn't it called Toscana Rally or something?

Edit: Ok thanks Asane

dear god! good bloody job! that is fantastic, finally someone that knows how to mangle up cars. It's incredibly frustrating to watch the people that try to damage it at teh conferences, they don't even know how to crash a car properly. someone needs to go backwards on the ring gun on straight as soon as the cars are about to reach the straight. Yank the handbrake crash head on, do what you need. I want to see a big pile up hahaha Did you get photos of the enzo?

@Asane

SolidSnakeX pointed out what appears to be... busted headlights!

Can you confirm?

I don't want to get anybody's hopes up! I'm just here to post the photos and you guys make what you want of it. Heck I'm not even sure how I damaged the Ferrari that much. If I remember correctly, I ran head on to a few cars on the track. Also, you guys they improved the AI. They actually slowed down and tried to swerve and could've avoided me if it wasn't for my maniacal ways of driving.

I have to admit... It did look extremely fake. I just saw it on N4G and thought it was worth mentioning

You mean the ad?

Keep up the good work, Asane.

Alrite here's the batch of photos. I was trying to show the extent of the damage that I could do within the 2 minutes. I can tell you guys that the damage is real time and it's not always the same each time. It really does matter where you get hit and how hard you got hit.

I apologize for them being blurry.

I really hope your insurance company isn't reading this as you seem to be somewhat of an expert.

dude this is what you got to do for us next time, if you get the chance, go backwards on the ring and just wait for teh cars to almost reach the straight then give it the beans coming down while they're climbing up. if you can, yank the handbrake so they t-bone you. That would be epic if you could do that for us sir hahah..if you have time do both, one t-bone and the other go head on with them muhahahah please and thanks =)

I'm not actually sure what did happen to it. I was just as surprised as you when I was playing and I saw this kind of damage.

Another look at it though this pic is really blurry.

wtf tires are clearly bended..

THE QUESTION IS : Is this final damage ?

Ifthey menage to improve that this will be big. Probably best damage model in all racing games... Especialy because they modeled insides of cars..

that was my biggest gripe when they first released these damage videos, no one knew how to crash a car. I mean how hard can it be. You give it to a couple of people on teh forums here and look what they can do easily. This damage looks 10x better than what was shown at the conferences. I was a bit worried but at the same time I still had a lot of faith in Kaz, and in Kaz I believe =)

The rims do appear to be bent, but it could simply an artifact of image blur.

Well, hold on, damage is really great by GT standards, however it could be better, more realistic. It might get graphically improved (for example less clipping, more damage details on bumpers, hood, etc), but cars won't probably visually get any more damaged than this (see crash tests or wreckedexotics.com to understand what I mean) due to legal reasons.

(although I'm now wondering what legal issues exactly limit. I thought that Ferrari was picky about damage as somebody else wrote, for example)

In Kaz we trust !

Now after i saw this dmg. model I can clearly say that 200 premium cars are realy out of space.

Add now dust , grass, smoke, even better damage, rollover, combine this and there you have it. Best immersive damage model.

I wonder what will bring TGS it is last big gig for PD team !
