This probably has been spotted already, but i wasn't sure.

a variation on Eiger Nordwand. (i made that part red to highlight it)
Pitlane. Why else would it be on the map?

I don't see how a game that strives for realism can have a rewind feature, but then again there is always the reset option when you pause the game.

well if you do time trials, those are kinda like practice mode because 1. you're not racing against anyone 2. infinite laps 3. no penalty for hitting walls or going on the grass

I think he was referring to the fact that you can not repeatedly practice one aspect (like a specific corner) like you can in a fighting game.

PD went to the extent of making all new standard models (R8 ALMS, Miura), so I don't see the the step off adding some wide fenders and a spoiler to existing standards (i.e: replacement models entirely) being that hard.

It would be a lot easier to create racing modifications for standard cars than premium cars considering the huge difference in detail.

However they did it worked in GT1 and GT2. Not sure why that wouldn't work for standard cars in GT5.

Every Racing Mod in GT1 and GT2 were separate, unique car models from their road variations (though I'm sure the modeling was done based off the existing asset). Essentially, double the car lineup. Taking Standard racing cars out of the numbers, and cars that wouldn't have a use for racing mods (Model T, Benz wagons, etc), you'd be looking at 500-600 cars that need to be modeled. Sure, some of GT's notorious padding might speed that up, but that's still a long, long time of modeling.

That's what racing mods have always been, just a slip-on cover for your car that makes it look fancy and adds a spoiler. Fairly low-tech, and built for solid object models. Putting racing mods on premium cars would be much more difficult, because you have to account for panel separation and such, so they have to be dynamic.

True, making racing mods for Premiums will undoubtedly be harder, just like modeling Premiums at all is harder than Standards... but why waste months upon months on a dead tier of modeling? Standards showing up with Racing Mods though will go a long ways towards negating any negative feelings anybody has for that tier though, I would imagine...

Please provide a source. I seriously doubt this is true. If standards were rebuilt we would not get the game for another 3 years.

He has an interesting point, but definitely not in career mode, but I think it would be quite handy in arcade mode, however I only say this as there is no practice mode that we know of (fighting games). Could be a great feature for polishing attacks on corners at various speeds (the current option is turn around and do it again).

More of a wish list thing really. If it isn't included, I'll be inconvenienced, but not destroyed or disappointed.

Practice option, right between B-spec and GT Auto/Tuning Shop

He means those cars were made after GT4 for GTPSP, they then have been displayed by PD as examples of standard cars in GT5. He doesn't mean rebuilt, he means PD made new stanards (since GT4).

Even though PD touts the R8 LMS and Countash as standard I have a feeling they wont be. (I have no evidence though)

Countach

'car delivery' ??

That bit intrigues me. I'm wondering if it could be something to do with the "gifting" ability or maybe they made things take time like they do in the real world, like painting your car or getting kits fitted. There's a lot of things revealed that just raise more questions, I almost wish I didn't know what I do.

You think PD themselves would lie? Yeah, that makes sense.

RE: Car Delivery - The GT site mentions that we'll be able to gift parts and cars to friends. I imagine that's what the truck's there for...

Maybe car delivery will be used to buy cars that are not available from the cycling used car dealership.

PD are full of suprises, Countach doesn't seem like a car PD would make new only as a standard car unless they already had them modeled in the GT4 development days but couldn't use them. They made both versions of the Enzo.

I think the same!I bet they will be premiums. (R8LMS and Countach)

Am I right in thinking thats the first video footage of Laguna Seca & the Isuzu 4200R?

I need to say this is a strange video - shadows looks like no resolution in it.Also Laguna Seca looks much worse than other tracks.Trees in Le Mans for example looks much better than this.I'm confused really - Le Mans is much more complex track than Laguna Seca.Reminds me of ugly Indiapolis Speedway from TT demo.

Yes that is the first footage and it was released early today. Take note of the horrid shadowing in the cockpit(worse than prologue). It is weird because many other cars exhibit improved cockpit shadowing. I guess the shadow quality may be inconsistent from car to car or from track to track. However, the light levels in the cockpit look accurate as it seems PD has possibly toned down the HDR lighting.

I think it's because the trees on Le Mans are greener and more varied. If I'm not mistaken, they are flat on all tracks.

Just strange.I don't see the logic here. This one (Laguna Seca) - looks like from GT4 - look at the trees! There are much more complex tracks - Trial Mountain,Tokyo and Le Mans where trees looks awesome.Again - it's like with Indiapolis.

Yes they all are X-like (except in Tokyo or London), but those from Indy and Laguna looks like crap.Trees from other tracks looks ok!

It's likely that some of the tracks were "touched up"(standard tracks) instead of completely remodeled(premium tracks).
