RE: Car Delivery - The GT site mentions that we'll be able to gift parts and cars to friends. I imagine that's what the truck's there for...

Just a thought but I clearly remember the DLC update for Prologue ( the one which brought us the Lotus Evora, Citroën GT and Ferrari California ) whereby they were presented being unloaded from a similarly looking truck.
Could it be hinting at DLC, whereby new arrivals or additions are brought to you by truck?

Could be, like with the Stealth/Chrome cars? Maybe they'll come through the delivery truck too.

i dont think its THAT inconvenient... just reverse and do it again! that would take more or less 5 seconds.. lol

It would take longer than that considering you have to go back a considerable amount so that you can approach the corner at similar speed in order to find the breaking point. This would especially be true if there was a long straight followed by a sharp corner.

However they did it worked in GT1 and GT2. Not sure why that wouldn't work for standard cars in GT5.

It would work but only for those cars that previously had racing mods. I don;t see PD wasting time and making new race mods for cars that previously didn't have them.

Alright, somebody help me out here.

Back at E3 or Gamescom, was there any info about endurance races and pausing/b-spec? I can't remember, but I'll swear there was...

The only information given that in any way involved endurance racing at GamesCom was that, for a 24hr race in B-Spec you'd need a team of 4 B-Spec drivers.

Hmm, I don't think that makes any sense. They've modelled a lot of new stuff since GT2!

Can anyone give me details on Car Delivery? :indiff: (maybe tree'd )

You will be able to carry along several cars for an event!

After more features of the online mode were revealed at TGS I'm asking myself, will there be the possbility to create own racing leagues? I know it was mentioned before, but is this feature already officially confirmed?

It's likely that some of the tracks were "touched up"(standard tracks) instead of completely remodeled(premium tracks).

Did PD ever say that some track were just touched up or is it an assumption because they used this method with the cars? They said that Laguna Seca and Trial Mountain have been rebuilt for GT5 but I have never read that some are just touched up.

That's exactly what I'm thinking about!Seems like Premium tracks will have weather/day-night option.

I think that this will be the case. It's unfortunate to see such a division between track and car features. But it is forgivable considering the time it would take to bring everything up to the "premium" standards.

i think same! But I also think that ALL circuit will be same quality!! :)

Did you see the glimpse of El Capitan? The textures looked GT4 like with a bit of spiffying up. I don't see all tracks being of equal quality, but you never know.

It's an assumption. There has been news that there will be way more than 20 unique tracks. Kaz has said it takes 2 years to build each track and with the number of track modelers in PD, there is no way so many track could have been rebuilt from scratch. Therefore, many must have been "touched up".

Yes that looked horrific but maybe it was from an early build. PD must know that the game will get flamed if it's filled with visual inconsistency.

If they gave us standard cars, standard tracks aren't that much of a stretch. WHy would they be showing early builds at this stage?

Only one I can think of:
Premium cars and Premium tracks - made from scratch, specially for GT5, that's real GT5.
Standard cars and Standard tracks - they put it in just to not make us play GT4,3,2,1 again.

How many track modelers do they have at PD?

The demo at Best Buy looks like an early build with the lack of visual effects. That indicates that they are not afraid to show the game without all the eye candy. I learned to live with the standard cars as I can hopefully ignore them, but I don't think I can ignore classic tracks from previous games. So for me it would a bad stretch.

As of prologue there were 23 not counting directors.

Ok, hopefully they expanded their staff once they turned full focus on GT5. But then again they must have had around 17 car modelers to make 200 premium cars during the last six years so I shouldn't bet on it.

There are around 29 car modelers. PD likes to keep a relatively small team(at least by today standards) and do not outsource any of their development.
