I've seen far too many Porsches to give them even a moment's glance. Where I live, there are MUCH more exciting cars. I've seen several old muscle cars, and Audi R8, a Tesla Roadster, a very Challengers (one in a beautiful blue) and a couple new Camaros among other things. Porsches aren't even worth the time of day.

You're reminding me of where I live! I see Porsches all the time, and they're just not that exciting to me anymore. I usually see muscle cars, (plenty of them being the new Camaro) Old time cars from the 30's. Heck I've even seen a Model T and a Ford GT (white with blue stripes).

It is relevent because it is an opinion.

And yet it was posted as a direct response to a different question...

Like I tried earlier to say, if you are asked the question 'Are Porsches boring?' There are a number of ways you can respond.

Yes, I'm sure there are. But that wasn't the question that was asked.

It's like I've asked what type of hat I should buy for my pet rattlesnake, and you've answered with "I like rusty spoons". And then repeatedly insisted that it's your opinion so it's relevant.

Your opinion that it doesn't matter to you that some people think Porsche are boring is duly noted. It is not an answer to the question of why being quicker to 60mph than a Fiesta means a Porsche cannot be boring. If you're insisting on answering that question, then answer that question, not a different one.

Please, if you could not understand that, that is not my problem, I wrote in about 3rd grade reading level, and in perfectly clear english.

I'd be going for 1st grade, to be frank.

I'm not talking about what you asked him, Im saying that was the topic of disscussion. If the disscussion is:
Whether or not porsches are boring (That was the disscussion)
then, when you are about to post your opinion, you are going to ask yourself that question! you are going to say:

*thinking to yourself
OK, so the topic is whether porsches are boring or not. Hmm are porsches boring? well, i guess i dont really care, because they are faster then the car i have now!

So then he posts: It dosen't matter, because they are faster than a Ford Fiesta.

You quoted my question and responded.

You are not even listening to the important part! Respond to what actually matters!

You are not even listening to the important part!

As I have said many times, since your thoughts aren't relevant to the question I posed and you chose to directly answer, I'm not listening to anything you say until you come up with something that actually answers the question I posed and you chose to directly answer.

Respond to what actually matters!

I am. You quoted my question and posted a response. If you weren't actually answering that question, why did you do that?

The question remains. Your answer, as it is irrelevant to that question, is noted and discarded.

No, it's like ive answered "Why the heck does your rattlesnake need a hat?!?

Not even slightly, since that'd be vaguely related to the question I asked.

And don't double-post.

If you don't take the time to think about what I'm saying, and how it is blatently obvious how it relates to your question, then whatever.

"Whose fiesta and why is it relevent?"

Let's anylyze your question. Whose fiesta? Maybe his, maybe his wifes, maybe his best friends. Either way, he likes the Porsche because it is faster, wether it is boring or not.

Why is it relevent? It is relevent because it is an opinion about the topic. Your little example about the rusty spoon dosent apply. The reason I brought up the question 'Are Porsches boring' is because in your question, you asked why it was relevent!

besides an R8 and possibly a Tesla, none of those are nicer then a Porsche.....

To me, they are. If I had a Porsche, I'd sell it and get a Challenger....or a truck...or both. When people get even remotely wealthy, they buy either a BMW or Porsche. All they say to me is "Look at me, I've got a lot of money and I don't mind wasting it." I say, if you're going to spend that amount of money, spend it on a Merc or a Viper or something that people are actually going to notice.

(This is starting to sound like an argument between Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond)

Is it cause you don't enjoy driving or are looks really all that matter to you?
Why do I want people to notice me?

So instead of "look at me" you want to get noticed......nice reasoning going on in this thread.

I agree. I would pick performance, and looks. IMO porsches look better than challengers, and perform better.

But to me the best is something that has supreme performance, and supreme looks. Like a Reventon. Or an FXX

Look, all I'm saying is if you're going to spend the money on a Porsche, you can find something better looking to spend your money on. To me, a Porsche or BMW in the driveway just says "I do have a lot of money, and I want people to notice it, but I know nothing about cars."

Because it's a Porsche.

Ok. We've gone from exchanging opinions to now just spewing out crap. A change of subject is needed.

But I don't want something that just looks good. I want something that gives me a rewarding feeling when I drive.
It seems like the pink part describes you perfectly. I can find hints of your lack of automotive "knowledge" in almost every other post you make. The opinions you write sound as you're stating facts and they make you sounds less and less intelligent every time.

While i understand what you say and even agree to some extent,
but NOT everyone who owns/buys a Porsche or BMW knows nothing about them...

It would be the same for people with Mercedes and other brands...

I have a bimmer, and i maintain it myself, or fixed when it needs some love... 90% of the work needed on the car... i do it myself.

Just like you, i just despise people who knows absolutely nothing about those cars or brands, and just flaunt their money in front of other people... those people just dont deserve to own it... but sadly for us, it's their money...

Well a master car list dosent give much in the form of disscussion material....

No that's why these discussions are for different threads in different sections of this forum and people talking out of the place the sun doesn't shine doesn't help either..........:indiff:

If I was a millionaire why would I spend it on a civic or a corolla?

How does that make sense? You despise people cause they have more money than you?
You're saying that if you know nothing about a car you're buying, you have no right to buy it? If I was a millionaire why would I spend it on a civic or a corolla?

You just can't beat that old class warfare!

Well, maybe some of the arguments in these threads can rival it.

It's not that they have more money, it's that they basically walk around in a coat made of money and shove a wad of cash in your face and go "Look at me, I've got lots of money and you don't.

And I do know that there are some people who don't just buy a Porsche or BMW or whatever just because it's a Porsche or BMW. But, there are a lot of people who do buy those cars just for that. I've even met someone who owned a BMW and pretty much knew nothing about it. I doubt he even knew it had a Straight 6 in it. (It was an M3 if I remember correctly.) But, I think if you're going to buy a car, unless you have no real choice, you should buy a car that you like, not because it's the what all the other rich people are buying.

Let's anylyze your question.

Oh, this should be good.

Whose fiesta? Maybe his, maybe his wifes, maybe his best friends. Either way, he likes the Porsche because it is faster, wether it is boring or not.

He said "your Fiesta". Not his, his wife's or his best friend's. He didn't say anything about liking Porsche more, merely that it can't be boring because it's faster.

Why is it relevent? It is relevent because it is an opinion about the topic. Your little example about the rusty spoon dosent apply. The reason I brought up the question 'Are Porsches boring' is because in your question, you asked why it was relevent!

For the sixteenth or seventeenth time now, that is not the question I asked. The question I asked is why a Porsche being able to accelerate faster than a Fiesta means it cannot be boring. You are welcome to answer this question any time you want but, since you didn't make that claim it is not your duty to.

Read. Then type. Again.

So ignore them.
Why does it matter what he/she does or doesn't know about his/her car?
And you know for a fact that people buy porsches and BMWs cause that's what rich people do and not cause the cars are enjoyable?

Well, I think we've both forgotten exactly what his messege said

I just read it again, and IMO we were both wrong. He never said he liked Porsches because they were fast, but he also never said that "Porsche being able to accelerate faster than a Fiesta means it cannot be boring."

After reading, I think the gist of his messege was "No matter how boring it is, Performance-wise it is up there with Lambos, so I like them."
