It's amazing how many people always say a Supra is only a straight line car.
I think all of the supra's on GT always had great speed and handling combined.
I would love to feel how it drives with the new physics and stuff. I hope they include this one though.

The Stock Supra is a awsome car but no realy easy to master in the corners, thats because of the heavy cast iron 2JZ-GTE I6. The JGTC/SuperGT Supra's didn't have a 2JZ engine but a much smaller 4 cylinder 3S-GTE and in its final seasons a aluminum V8 3UZ-FE.

So, if a mod can copy/paste the post #2512 on page 126 to replace the first post, be my guest.

And if some of you have ingame pics for the few cars remaining, please post 'em!

What was the reason why Toyota went for the V8 instead of the tried and true turbo 4?

Was it for the torque?

Because of rules. In GT500 all engines are built to the same spec. And the racecars only share the a-pillars with the roadcars, nothing else. So a Supra GT500 isn´t very much a Supra, the basic look, the a-pillars and the name are the only things they share...

I think the picture link idea would be great. Also if there were links to the cars mentioned in interviews? Might be helpful as well

The same engine rule just went in this season, i didn't exist back then.

You guys should not forget this one. :(

This great race car is one of the reason why i got into GT, but sadly it didn't came back in GT3 and 4.

For some reason I have the feeling they did not mean the actual racecar Yamauchi drove, but the normal IS-F in that new article quoted on the frontpage.

Don't know why you think Kaz Yamauchi Nurburgring car, will not be in GT5. He has know for a long time what car he would be racing in! And what car wouldn't go better in a Nurburgring 24hr race than Kaz's race car(GT5) That would be my first choice to drive on the Ring to see if i could get similar lap times!

ps. Pretty much guarantee it's in GT5!

What makes you think so? It said the "race spec" Lexus IS-F That Kaz drove, which from what I see is far from the normal IS-F.

I agree. It just says "v8 powered saloon" will be in the game. Nowhere does it say they asked about the particular race car or whether it will be in the game.

That's what the GTP front page says. The article they are quoting says nothing of the like.
We should be used to this by now. Vague answers to every question that create nothing but speculation.

They also said that "they were also able to confirm that the race-spec Lexus IS-F which Yamauchi drove in the event will be included in the game" I don't know why you guys are saying because they said the "V8 power saloon will be in the game" makes it the stock one. The car Kaz drove is technically a V8 powered saloon right? I think they were just wording it another way

That's the original text:
More details on the long-awaited Gran Turismo 5 game emerged at last weekend’s Nürburgring 24 Hours race, where Auto Express senior road tester and racing driver, Owen Mildenhall, drove a tuned Lexus IS F alongside the title’s creator, Kazunori Yamauchi.

The V8-powered saloon will appear in the new game – which Owen got to try during the event. Our man took the controls of a Sony PlayStation 3 to sample the complete Nürburgring 24 Hours circuit – for the first time in video game history. And he even got to try the new night racing feature.

Nowhere does it state that the race car is in the game, yes, you could interpret it like that, but this is not a confirmation for me. I would be surprised if they modeled the car completely anyway, at least not with the complete livery and the number.
