GT5 Master Track List (NOT a wishlist)

With some imagination and diluting the number with short variations (basically just a matter of closing down sections of circuits, would be useful for Karts), it would not be that hard in my opinion, assuming that all previously speculated tracks (GT5/PSP+GT5P+Weather Locations+Leaked list) will appear:

Why isn't Road Atlanta on your list. Remember the AMG Academy was at that track with GT5 pods.

It might be that they're adding more new circuits but not adding old ones which they haven't yet upgraded to GT5 standards (saving for GT6?),

In the Red Bull and the Weather effects trailers El Capitan, Ice Arena and Chamonix from the GTPSP intro appeared; while that might not mean anything in particular (especially the Red Bull trailer since it appears it was meant for internal consumption), that could have hinted the inclusion of "Standard" tracks in addition to "Standard" cars, something we speculated a few months ago when in a public GT5 demo a few tracks were listed as "Premium" in the selection screen.

but I'm still expecting reverse versions to count. GT PSP was officially advertised as 35 tracks with 70+ variations and that included reversed ones.
As I previously wrote, at this point I really think that the total track number including reverse variations might be 150.

It's however true, though, that taking Jeff Rubinstein's words for granted (more than 40 tracks, more than 100 layouts, and also 70+ unique variations), then this list would make sense too (spotted/confirmed tracks + guaranteed variations + leaked list):

Because except for that, there is no more direct clue that it will be in the game. Same for Texas Motor Speedway.

I think we'll see like 10 NASCAR tracks... makes sence... I mean, cars with only 2 tracks? Unlikely right?

Unfortunately, likely.
We'll probably race NASCAR cars on Monza, Twin Ring Motegi Superspeedway, Test Course, etc.

SHIRAKAWA Akira, DJW_GT:

Thank you both for the replies. I wasn't referring specifically to the speculative list posted, or to any of SHIRAKAWA's other lists - I have no issue with any of the lists because, as I said in my previous post, they're either well-sourced or presented as speculation with the reasons for that speculation.

My question was what evidence do we have to believe that quoted numbers of tracks do not include reverse variations. Your confirmed track list with likely variations including reverse totals, as you say, 80 which leaves scope for some additional tracks to still fit the 100+ figure (unlike you, I think 118 is not excessively high to match 100+). I still don't think we've got any foundation at all to exclude reverse variations at this point, though obviously I'd love to be wrong on this! ;)

As for PD resorting to including reverse variations to 'boost' track count - am I wrong in thinking that this is what they've done on previous full GT versions?

Just to be pedantic I think only the Ice Arena was taken from the GTPSP intro, I can't tell if it's been improved from PS2 level but some of the sponsors seem to be different for some reason.
El Captian is obviously a low poly version, but so is the Enzo, so it might be a placeholder from some old footage before they finished off the updated one. It seems they only make a limited amount of trailer footage as I've noticed a lot of reused clips recently.
The Chamonix they show looks all new, whether part of the existing course or not.

This Chamonix clip from the Red Bull trailer didn't seem that impressive to me, I assumed it was from GT4/PSP rather than the new and improved weather-enabled version:

That was my initial thought but those mountains don't seem to appear in the old games. I think it's likely there's a heavy zoom being used in that shot so the mountains look a lot closer than they normally would be.

Do we know thats Chamonix? Could have just been a track from the course maker. Pretty sure they'll have a snow theme there.

After a lot of Google Earthing, I have worked out all the mountain ranges you see in the Chamonix shots are of the Mont Blanc range as seen from the region between 'Le Planey' and 'Le Planay', :)

edit: ok those names appear all over the place so that's a bad example.
Between Les Contamines-Montjoie and Megève. It looks like a good course maker setting and also similar to the GT4 setting, which looks like it's a mostly treeless plateau, not in a deep valley or on the side of a mountain.

Thanks a lot!
I'm still not entirely convinced, though. The scenery in the video doesn't quite match what I see on Google Earth. Also if that's the case then the snowy track in the video wouldn't exactly be in the Chamonix area.

As far as I remember, the Chamonix road and snow track in GT4 never had such mountainous neighborhood.

In fact I think that the GT4 "Chamonix" track wasn't either near the real life town of Chamonix in the Alps.
Chamonix is on the bottom of a valley surrounded by mounts such as the Mont Blanc (13976 feet) and large glaciers. Something we never seen on this track scenery.

If it's the final build at Paris Games Week I'll make sure to take an HD recorder and take screens of every single track+maps.
Don't forget to record the sound (not too far from the source) and see if there is a proper hood cam in gameplay.
I would also ask you to try professional physics and all aids off. Please? :)

I wonder if the US Top Gear Test Track will appear in GT5...if not when it's released, maybe down the road.

I very much doubt that it'll be in. The US Top Gear has only come together recently. Plus there's no telling if the track will even be something that people want in the game.

I'm pretty confident the snow theme will be French Alps/Rally Chamonix.
I'm not going to try and match any more mountains as they become more fractal like the longer I look at them.

Excellent news for Monaco confirmation. This location is just a paradise for luxury cars. But it still again and again the F1 track. Could be great with the Larvotto Beach, The Monte Carlo Bay Hotel, Fontveille harbor and the mediterranean road to The Cap Martin (France). Cant wait now for the Capri confirmation, an other wonderfull place.

A friend of mine is also going to the Paris event. I asked her to take pics/vids of all the cars and tracks available in the demo. Hope she'll do it right.

is spa francorchamps confirmed ?

No but there's a 90% chance it will be.. There's been various inadvertent clues and quotes that point to it being in the game but nothing has been confirmed yet. We probably won't find out for sure until review copies of the game are sent out.
