GT5 Master Track List (NOT a wishlist)

Ok, I just thought of the first evidence that this may not be the full list. I can't watch it now (work), but if you go look at the video that has the A-Spec events...

I swear there was a France/Paris championship. See if you can gather any info from that maybe. Now that could be only La Sarthe, but that wouldn't make any since to me.

There is still hope, lol.

Along with Le Mans and Paris, I think GT4 had Grand Valley, SSR5 and Monaco in that championship :guilty:

Sorry for double post.

On the positive side my F1 2010 just gained lots of new tracks.

Cirencester Uh codemasters only advertised 19 tracks, ha they sold themselves short.

I got 57 tracks in my copy.

19 dry
19 wet
19 intermediate.

Nice.

Truely, I was hoping for two HK tracks, one in Central or in CWB or in Midlevels or Pok Fu Lam, and one in TST. Would not mind spending 10 USD for HK tracks =)

The Tous France Championnat is presumably going to consist of La Sarthe, Cote d'Azur and Grand Valley, following the premise that GV was French (at least some of the time) in GT4. If there are more than three races then I guess we get other variations of La Sarthe, and Chamonix

The exclusion if Infineon is a bit confusing, especially given that NASCAR actually runs one of their 2 road races there.

Ah, well. We can't have it all.

What is the context of the track list?, is it what we get at the beginning or is it the complete list?.
with the exception of Prima Guide or something similar would a game list it's hidden items before it's game is release?.

Piazza del Campo missing.
Why wouldn't PD not include Suzuka Circuit West which is already modeled?.

What is the track count now throwing out the padding (reverse, time, weather) and include only unique variations?.

I think none of the questions will be answered until people get there hands on the game.

(a) The PD site is titled Track List. It does not say that this a complete list. Kaz could be playing tricks with the fans!:)
(b) The list only includes a few tracks not revealed in the leaked video: Nordschleife and Top Gear.
(c) IF the leaked video represents arcade tracks available at game opening, then is it likely that only two tracks would be opened by challenges?
(d) The number of snow/dirt tracks seems very weak.
Thanks, this will help me keep faith for the coming weeks.

This is what it looks like:

I had an interesting (IMO) thought while I was off at lunch. We all know that creating a track for GT5 took a really long time. Considering the size of GT5 and the trend of the game following a console debut being larger, we can assume GT6 will be a larger game. To what degree, we can't be sure, but that's not the point. Kazunori has mentioned that work has already begun on GT6. I find it not unreasonable to think that, at this stage, other tracks, such as the ones we were expecting, are among the things being worked on at this stage. If this is the case, and considering that a significant graphical leap from GT5 to GT6 is unlikely, tracks built "for GT6" may be released as DLC for GT5.

Now, I think this is unlikely, but it's another possibility. My personal belief is still that a) this is all we get, or b) Sony forced PD to withhold some tracks for extra revenue.

EDIT: By the way, I think the "Type V" variation is one that is often used for touring/saloon cars that cuts off the tail of the GP circuit. It's been used in at least ToCA Race Driver 3.

And they spent time modelling a tracks like SS7 and forgot circuits like infineon, el capitain? I'm trying to not be disappointed, but I can't... gt4 track list is better...

Maybe I overlooked it, but is there an explanation as to what the Nurburging TypeV layout is? I've never heard of that one.

It's like the 24H layout but the GP course is in different variation. It's for VLN Racing or something.

Kaz if you are reading this

Midfield and El Capitan is all I ask for.

I really wanted spa, but it was a long shot.

It's really disappointing they've removed so many tracks from the previous versions. Perhaps they want to "sell" more tracks later on.

Driving in reverse, different weather is nice. It doesn't really feel like a different track. GT5 has 24 (road) tracks imo.

Honestly, SS7 seems pretty awesome to me.
If we could race there, with 16 cars on track... I can die happily.
We'll see, however. I feel that the tracklist is somehow incomplete.

Well, the way things are shaping up it seems like GT6's main selling point over GT5 will probably be content so why would they give us some of it now? It would be like shooting themselves on the foot. And as somebody else mentioned, even if they do add extra tracks we'll still not be seeing them in the career mode so I believe it's very unlikely.

My only slight disappointment is no Midfield. Well, except Spa, but that always seemed unlikely to me. Other than that, more than happy.

I wouldn't go that far. Seeing so many great tracks missing is disappointing indeed but don't forget that having new tracks like Monza, Indy and Nur. GP is huge.

I would definitely take this list over GT4's just because of the tracks that will have day/night and weather. No doubt.

If this is really all we get, then suddenly the course maker becomes very crucial in filling out the number of tracks. I'm hoping that somehow we will be able to create some great courses and maybe share the best via online mode as 'GTP Officially Sanctioned'. It would be great to have some standardized courses that we can all relate to and discuss.

my thoughts exactly.

If it weren't for that track generator, it would be an enormous let down. What are the odds someone ends up with eau-rouge & raidillon in a random generated track?

By my count, via the GTPlanet Guides:

GT1: 8 unique tracks
GT2: 23 unique tracks (Rome Night counts, as do both Smokey Mountain tracks)
GT3: 19 unique tracks (interestingly, the only other is SSR5 Wet...no "variations" at all)
GT4: 39 unique tracks (Fuji pre- and post-2000 separate, Motegi oval separate, excluding Gymkhana)
GT5: 28 unique tracks + track generator (Nordschleife and GP separate)
