im quite disappointed with the number of tracks.

i'm betting this will be the final list. why is that?

i mean, they posted ALL 1031 cars alongside the course list. i don't think they will post a complete car list and then an incomplete, yet-to-be-unlocked course list.

so sad. i could care less about 1031 cars. i want more tracks. seriously.

Grand Theft Turismo then

Imagine in the future if games of this caliber are merged.

You're running from Metal Gear Rex as you put away your M4A1, then call a helicopter strike. You find an Audi R8 GT, hotwire it, then drive away towards the nearest Air Force Base. On the way you're doing drive-by shootings and setting sector time records. In the rain. Through mud. At night. You pull the e-brake and jump out of the car, sending the R8 into Colossus. You triple front flip, while whipping out your Buster Sword, then land on your feet. Behind you is Dhalsim who reaches for you. You then chop off his arms, collect some XP and mana, then jump into the F22 Raptor. A Sukhoi SU-27 screams by, followed by a stream of missiles and bullets. You launch the F22, and scramble after the SU-27. Only 2 minutes into the air you get bogied and your wing is severely damaged which leaves you with no choice. Flip the switch and you're boosted out of the plane. But your parachute doesn't work! Panic ensues. You look around for anyone, anything. The ground is coming at you so incredibly fast. But wait, you're going to land in water! You get into position, then the cold rush of the ocean water stings your entire body. You can't see anything, it's just a rush of bubbles and darkness. As the water starts to clear up you see something moving in the distance. What could it be? Will I be eaten alive by sharks? No! It's Ecco! You grab on to his fin and he climbs you up to water so you could breathe. You thank him with some XP and he agrees to take you to the nearest body of land. As you get near, you hear some incredibly loud commotion. Screaming, crashes, explosions. What in the name of Kaz?!?! There's a humongous ball of... everything... rolling around. As you get closer you get more confused. The ball is increasing in size. It's as if the ball is picking up every object it touches! Look, it just picked up an entire building! The ball momentarily jerks, then jerks some more. All of a sudden it spins at an incredible rate and rushes towards you. You have nowhere to go. The moment it's about to hit you, you wake up. To your left is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, to your right is Ellen page, and in front of you... Leonardo DiCaprio. What happened just now?

Inception.

I wouldn't mind having half the amount of very similar Japanese cars if we had more tracks instead. I was really hoping they'd treat the track and car selections the same way.

Cutting "Similar Japanese cars" wouldn't save any time. By the fact that they are SIMILAR means its very fast to put all the slight variations in the game.

Not sure whether or not this has been confirmed, but for the official (and final) track list... is that whats available from start or are there definitely much more than that? Is that 'really' the full track listing?

Hands up if you'd give reviewers a copy of the game that isn't the final version?

Almost all publishers do. That's why major review sites post their reviews so soon, and paper mags can review games that are released after their deadline for that month.

hmmmmmm

Top Gear, Cape Ring, Deep Forest,Trial-Mountain & N-ring...these are the only tracks I'm thrilled about

tried the Madird track today at a local dealer....bah....will only drive it if I really have to...

Here's something to consider...

Being that this is the 1st GT to feature online racing, PD wouldn't hide any tracks since the usual protocol with online racing is to have every track available from the start. So unless PD has made it so you can race yet-to-be-unlocked-offline tracks online, I'm afraid that track list is complete.

In my opinion, the problem is that I got excited hearing about weather, day-night and so on... But I was supposing an high number of tracks...Honestly, I couldn't care less about weather in some races if there isn't a lot of tracks... The variety of them makes the game more enjoying, the best thing for let it survive for some years was putting a lot of circuit, so everyone can't get bored driving always in the same... But at this point, PD doesn't think it's an important point...

We've been through this many times.

80%+ of the duplicate Japanese cars are standards taken directly from GT4. They contributed very little (If any) development time towards GT5.

If PD stopped developing games and started to develop a time machine instead, maybe they could get some more tracks in for GT5.

Though I do agree, I am disappointed. I thought they were holding back a couple of Real World circuits like Spa, Hockenheim, Silverstone etc. But it turns out they revealed them all gradually through the various demos we have been shown. Obviously there was a reason they only used Tokyo R246 for a lot of the demos, because they had very few other tracks to use without giving away the track list.

What gets me is how we have seen El Capitan in one of the trailers, but we don't see it on this list. It throws in so much doubt about how credible the list is, even if it is from PD themselves.

Wouldn't GT5 be considered as a new base start for PD? Just like with GT1... they were building it from the ground up. Maybe they just wanted to see the capabilities for GT5 and where they stand on the grid.

Then maybe GT6 will have the things that we want. Afterall, removing duplications of the same exact car wouldn't even give room for more tracks. Hence why Kaz said he didn't see GT5 as the way he dreamed it to be because the PS3 limited his actions as well as BD space. So hopefully we will see a much definite improvement in the future.

I'm not really so sure it is the full listing, especially since the massive majority of them show up in the "beginner tracks" video.

I have no idea why they would go to the effort of creating a dynamic weather system and only implimenting it on certain tracks.

There is no reason why any of the original GT tracks cannot have weather and or night time variants when there are other tracks that do. The the Nurburgring can have both day/night AND weather, and it being the longest most complicated track in the game, it appears it only comes down to laziness or poor execution.

I just don't get it.

yes, but along the course list, they also revealed the FULL car list, given that we have to unlock some of them? would it make sense that they showed all 1031 cars, they wouldn't reveal all tracks? im disappointed, too.

Maybe PD has seen what happens when anyone can enter a race online (I talking bad bad drivers here) so they thought lets make them "earn" the respect to race some tracks online by making them complete a certain % of the game first (unlocking tracks) Then people will try to get better first before jumping into races they don't belong in:sly: You know the rammers,no brake drivers, punters, driving backwards drivers, and my favorite ones (the I'm in last place I'm quitting this race drivers)💡

Could make a song :)

(8) I'm in last place, I'm quittin' this race!
My car is a mess, so much I can't stress,
I'm a disgrace, don't look at my face!
I hate this track, it is so crap! (8)

Yeaaah... :)

Thats a novel idea, but I think we are, as someone else eloquently stated, "clutching at straws" at this point. Those rammers and punters will still be around no matter what track you're on.

I'm curious as Grand Canyon, Tahiti Maze, Twin Ring Motegi, Costa Di Amalfi and Citta Di Aria were on Gran Turismo HD publicity images... in 2006!

Sure they don't look so good today, because of the outdated textures and low poly scenery, but the track is there. I don't believe they couldn't improve the textures and side tracks objets in 5 years.

Not having all GT4 tracks as standards, just like they did with the cars, is a weird move (if not dumb).

I don't see a point of not having Infineon, now that they have the Nascar licence. Same goes with Twin Ring Motegi for SuperGT.

GT5, as truly fantastic and well done as it is, is a full mix of bad moves and design decisions. Ever since the GT HD stages.

PS: I find funny people already talking about GT6 and that it will have all things GT5 misses. I'm sorry but PD already made tons of money with GT5P. Do they really need another game to help them finance a more "complete" one? No.

They need a bigger team. Having around 200 people to develop a game was fine during PS1 and maybe PS2 days. Nowadays, games are getting more detailed, and a big staff is mandatory. They better hire more 3d modelers and programmers or GT6 will still have "issues".

Just check at 07:00 when they are talking about Standards. 51 Tracks. =/ Seems like 5 years later, they don't give a damn...

I hope there will be a voting / penalty system which is linked to some sort of temporary online ban. Let's say you are kicked or disqualified from five online sessions within 24 hours so you can't access any public online events within 24 hours. I doubt they would include such a thing but consequence is needed if just a small percentage of those wild drivers from Prologue will return.

So we have a game with only 5 really interesting track:
Monza
Laguna seca
Nordschleife
La Sarthe (but only with a really limited number of cars)
Suzuka

For a 2010 game and a 6 years production is not enough, Codermasters realized 18 tracks with a lot of detail in ... one year?

And u can't do a racing game without SPA, simply u can't.

Have people considered the possibility that Spa Francorchamps may be a secret track? Wasn't Circuit de La Sarthe a secret track in GT4?

I won't get my hopes up but there have been so many hints to Spa.

true plus piazza del campo isn't even on their official list. we also saw el capitan in that video from TGS with that dreadful horsepower song, also not on their list. Kaz said they would have surprises. Plus why have belgian high fens as a course maker location but not have spa in the game? but either way, whining about the track list is rediculous. it has nurburgring for christs sake!!! how could you ever get bored of that track? plus the tracks are modeled perfectly (aside from the trees). it's easy to have 18 low quality real tracks *cough F1 2010 *cough but PD went far beyond that. this isn't some arcade racer, who cares if there's no spa. sure, spa should be in the game before 90% of what's there but it's not like there's not enough tracks. the car list is much worse. I mean seriously, the Veyron is standard? that's where the outrage should be. even if you don't like it, IT WAS TOP GEARS CAR OF THE DECADE!!! BEATING OUT THE ENZO, CARRERA GT, etc.
