GT5 Master Track List (NOT a wishlist)

You never know, maybe the big surprise, is just that, a BIG surprise, all the original tracks that have been in previous games becoming unlocked at various stages throughout the game, maybe even Spa.

I'm going into GT5 NOT expecting this however, I'm going to enjoy what they are giving us from the off because, as others have said, Prologue had what, 5 tracks and a smattering of cars, yet (when I got MY DFGT recently), I had hours upon hours of enjoyment just from that alone. The content in GT5 will keep me VERY happy for a long time to come, not least because of the improvements that are in the game, graphics and effects like weather, head tracking and of course by far the most important, the ever improved physics model. EEEE, cannot wait! :D

I mean seriously, the Veyron is standard? that's where the outrage should be. even if you don't like it, IT WAS TOP GEARS CAR OF THE DECADE!!! BEATING OUT THE ENZO, CARRERA GT, etc.

When was that? I've been watching every episode in order, I'm up to series 13 episode 3 and so far all they've said about it is that it didn't perform as well as they'd hoped on the track and the £36,000 Caterham R500 was faster for less than 1/27th of the price.

So we have a game with only 5 really interesting track:
Monza
Laguna seca
Nordschleife
La Sarthe (but only with a really limited number of cars)
Suzuka

For a 2010 game and a 6 years production is not enough, Codermasters realized 18 tracks with a lot of detail in ... one year?

And u can't do a racing game without SPA, simply u can't.

Funny, because Forza 3 did quite well and Spa is nowhere to be seen in that game. I can also name you six other racing games that sold just fine without SPA.

And guess what the first GT game the Bugatti veyron was on? GT PSP. Any car from GT PSP is automatically standard, period.

Someone needs to find out (courtesy of Czech video ) whether "Belgian High Fens" is indeed included as a course maker theme in GT5.

Never mind if the official (and would probably need to be licensed) modern day Spa Francorchamps F1 circuit isn't in GT5... The public road 15km 1930's pre-war route or 1960's 14km old triangle route would be even better.

Ah, wishful thinking! Don't anyone get their hopes up!

I think you'll find it will be very difficult to re-create real-life circuit. Especially in an accurate way since the topography of the land around the circuit appears to be somewhat randomly-generated. You might be able to get the corners right, but there's no way you could do the elevation properly. Besides, you get a maximum of ten sectors, and while the best way to re-create a corner would be to have one sector for each turn, circuits like Spa have more than ten corners to them. Plus, it looks like the number of sectors dictates the length of the circuit, so you could end up with a twenty-kilometre version of the current Spa circuit.

Who said anything about my recreating it? PD would do a much better job...

IF a BHF Course Maker theme is in there, I wouldn't be thinking about seeing the (new F1) circuit as that would need to be licensed and C.d'Azur / Porsche tell their own stories. By contrast, "Eifel" (on the Course Maker) tells us a new story (N'ring). Easy to put 2 + 2 together and get 5 here, so don't, but if BHF is in then one can let one's mind wander...

P.S. Worth a read > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circuit_de_Spa-Francorchamps

I'm curious as Grand Canyon, Tahiti Maze, Twin Ring Motegi, Costa Di Amalfi and Citta Di Aria were on Gran Turismo HD publicity images... in 2006!

Sure they don't look so good today, because of the outdated textures and low poly scenery, but the track is there. I don't believe they couldn't improve the textures and side tracks objets in 5 years.

Not having all GT4 tracks as standards, just like they did with the cars, is a weird move (if not dumb).

I don't see a point of not having Infineon, now that they have the Nascar licence. Same goes with Twin Ring Motegi for SuperGT.

GT5, as truly fantastic and well done as it is, is a full mix of bad moves and design decisions. Ever since the GT HD stages.

PS: I find funny people already talking about GT6 and that it will have all things GT5 misses. I'm sorry but PD already made tons of money with GT5P. Do they really need another game to help them finance a more "complete" one? No.

They need a bigger team. Having around 200 people to develop a game was fine during PS1 and maybe PS2 days. Nowadays, games are getting more detailed, and a big staff is mandatory. They better hire more 3d modelers and programmers or GT6 will still have "issues".

Just check at 07:00 when they are talking about Standards. 51 Tracks. =/ Seems like 5 years later, they don't give a damn...

I don´t understand either. All GT4 tracks were upscaled to 1080p.

Ever since they´ve shown GT HD we thought those tracks would be in GT5. because they HAD done work on then to improve the resolution.

It´s just hard to understand the decision at this moment.

Putting 800 standard detail cars in and leaving tracks out because they do not look good enough is just plain stupid.

Yea, this decision blows me away.

Personally, I've never had a problem with the standard/premium thing. I think they just did a horrible job communicating it to the fans. It is actually a great thing.

"Hey, we are working on brand new content that is fantastic quality. But it is going to take a long time, because we want to future proof it. So, we are also working on keeping all of the old content that was in GT4. We will upscale as best as we can for you guys." -PD

See, PD, that wasn't that hard. And it kind of makes a lot of sense. But why do it for cars and not tracks. Man, I thought the upscaled GT4 tracks were a lock. Oh well...

So is that really the final list on the official GT site? Thats the list of ALL unlocked tracks? Can we have Tekken90 confirm this? I reviewed the leaked tracked video again and it seems Nurburgring and Top Gear tracks were the only ones that were considered "locked". I highly doubt that these are the only two tracks we need to unlock in Arcade mode. The ones in the video are the same exact ones listed on the GT site and the news page here on GTPlanet.

Is that what we have all officially or are we just speculating that this is it?

yes only that, i asked teken90 to read the manual under credits and there'arent references to other tracks or locations.

If I am not mistaken the car list in the arcade mode is heavily restricted in the beginning. Wouldn't this logically mean that some of the tracks are restricted too at first?

How many cars did/does GT4 have in Arcade the moment the game starts? How many tracks are there in total once they are all unlocked? I don't care about variations, just raw tracks. Aka "locations".

Yeah my guide is scheduled to be here on the 23rd. Gotta live Amazon Prime's 1-day shipping. Hopefully they won't do something stupid like hold it for a day. You know, in order to match Sony's stupid decision to launch on a Wednesday instead of the industry standard Tuesday.

Didn't kaz say that all GT4 tracks will be included in GT5? I'm sure i saw a quote on this forum somewhere. I think those GT HD pics are testiment that they will be included. All pd need to do is replace the 2D trees and maybe the track texture and they'll look fine. Seems strages that they produce the high res tracks and not use them in the game.

I think there are many signs that this isn't the full track list e.g. the Italy go-kart track missing from the list

Whenever i open the latest news forum i always look at the first post by accident thinking it's the latest post and think 'wow' new news:

french vidéo game magazine " JOYPAD" goes to Japan and meet K Yamauchi at polyphony digital and give us 3 pages of interview and some more scoop about GT5:

- All cars and tracks of GT4 will be in GT5
- more cars and tracks should be downloadable
- 4 driving views
- damages for the race cars
- All Ferrari + F1
- new city tracks
- online drivers : 12 to 20
- changing weather during race

"for Porsche and Lamborghini, no confirmation"
"an employer take the pad : black screen , lot of lines in japan , nothing to understand except "indianapolis""
"I can comfirm a game will be out between GT4 et GT5" K.Y

Now we have confirmation of nearly all this list to be true and this was posted way back in 2004! So I think all tracks WILL be included also

I hope there will be a voting / penalty system which is linked to some sort of temporary online ban. Let's say you are kicked or disqualified from five online sessions within 24 hours so you can't access any public online events within 24 hours. I doubt they would include such a thing but consequence is needed if just a small percentage of those wild drivers from Prologue will return.

No, that would be pretty bad.

"Hey look at this guy, he's first and we can't catch him. Ban him lol"

GUYS? I GOT A GREAT IDEA to (possibly) proof additional tracks in the game!
But for that we need somebody who owns the retail version of the game.

The trick is simple: If you look into the user manual of, say, GT4, at "Credits" you find all car manufacturers,
but also all names of real world tracks (like "Infineon Raceway").

So if you've got the official retail version of GT5 or you know someone who owns it,
please look into the credits of the manual and search for SPA, HOCKENHEIM or INFINEON!

Or, better: Take some photos of that pages and post it here!! ;)

And please do it NOW. :D

Unfortunaly Tekken90 couldn't find any clues for additional tracks in the manual. :guilty: His answer was short:

"HI,

nothing found."

Nevertheless I won't stop hoping for more tracks until I played the game or red the Official Strategy Guide! :ouch:
