This thread has the most bitching of any thread on here...even more than the EMO thread. I rarely check on this thread because it's just page after page after page of moaning and groaning and complaining. I've met 3 year-olds that cry less than you guys do.

say that to PD, whit 50 unique tracks i don't cry anymore...:yuck:

Quote me, "How many cars did/does GT4 have in Arcade the moment the game starts? How many tracks are there in total once they are all unlocked? I don't care about variations, just raw tracks. Aka "locations"."

Anyone????

Not sure about number of cars in arcade I don't even think that I ever used arcade in GT4 I do have the Prima Guide and the number of tracks: 55 total this includes Gymkhana (driving around the cones) coffee breaks and Las Vegas Strip. I'll try to see how many cars are at start. I'm watching Nascar race right now and trying to fix something to eat also. If I find anything on number of cars at start I'll send you a PM.
This brought to you by that "Crazy opelgt:crazy:1969 guy".
I thought I saw car number in guide the other day

I still don't think we've seen the full track list. But, it really doesn't matter to me. I'm still going to buy and enjoy it and am looking forward to having a lot of brand new tracks. And remember, you can create new tracks with the course maker.

I agree that it's possible that we haven't seen the full track list-it seems from recent snippets of news that the game unlocks as you progress through it. We will find out in a few days I suppose.

The Course Maker is a great addition-can't think of any games I have played that had this feature apart from V-Rally. Endless amounts of tracks. You may never have to buy another car racing game again! :)

May I ask what you specifically refer to here?

What would ever be the point of issuing an "incomplete" track list? Do you seriously believe that could be a new kind of "GOTCHA! :D" creative advertising technique?

So am I, dude. UNLESS, that footage of the Enzo on El Capitan was taken from some other GT trailer.

That part was taken straight from the GTPSP intro. I think they included it just for advertising and didn't think we would look so in-depth into it and find tracks that won't actually be in GT5

The El Capitan and Ice Arena clips from that video were from the GTPSP intro movie.
I guess that's why the video was pulled out shortly after it was released.

The track list as it is is very limited.
But the game has been in development for way too long for Sony to just let PD hand out all their content on day one, so DLC is on the way.

The big question - tracks are big downloads... should we expect that extra DLC tracks will already be on the disc?! (sadly it's a common practice with japanese game publishers - e.g. Namco/Bandai with AceCombat6, SoulCalibur4 or Capcom and SF4).
I'm surprised that noone who has the actual disc already has tried to analyze the disc data to figure the total track tally once and for all... (but maybe it's all encrypted).

I didn't find this in any book so I created a new "Game save" and fired up GT4. This is what I found not sure how this will read in a PM message so I'll space it out some:

Cars at start of Arcade Mode: 240

Tracks available at start of Arcade Mode:

Single Races

World Circuits 8/19

Original Circuits 9/13

City Courses 5/11

Dirt & Snow 3/7

I think the only difference in Single Races & TT was City Courses in TT had 6/11 available.

Hope this was what you were looking for!

Interesting but the point still stands, why would they release an incomplete track list and risk getting fans angry/losing sales or whatever it is that's happening right now?

I have a few notes to share from looking on YouTube. I was searching on YouTube for recently-uploaded [non-spam] Gran Turismo 5 videos, and I saw a full video lap of Special Stage Route 7 Wet. I thought of this course as a good one-on-one highway battle stage. Well, I saw 12 cars on SSR7 (including the driver). That's right- this is a proper course apparently. For fear of posting a video that would be shot down by Sony, I'm not going to post a link to that video. I think this will be a track that will really apply to those who love Tokyo highway battles. Kind of like a fancier Test Course with the high speeds. I don't see its practicality as a proper course since I don't notice a pit lane of some kind. But again, we'll need to see more material on this course.

The analysis: the Citroen GT concept car would consistently blast down SSR7 Wet's straights at a range of anywhere between 280 kph to 325 kph even in the wet on this course. The driver lapped SSR7 (Wet) with a time of 5:29.148. So you are going to be racing this course at just about full speed for at least five or six minutes, especially in the fastest cars. Let's just hope there isn't a Kei car race or something on the full course in GT5. Otherwise, it would be almost forever to get around the full course. The lap time I made note of is full assurance that this track is deceptively long.

I might enjoy high-speed battle on that course when I get to play the full game.

SSR7 is about as long as Nuerburgring Nordschleife, but it's got a much faster layout.
One lap there with a Kei or a similarly powered car shouldn't take more time than a lap on the Nordschleife. It would probably be boring, though.

👍

Great analysis as always. :)
And I do agree with the bit about SSR7 not being a proper track, with no pits and all. I would however, enjoy a 'high-speed battle' or two.. mk, more than two :sly:

The SSR7 track is more an arcade race type of track for having fun for a little while. I would not do an endurance race there, i would get bored at some point.

But still, i'm it will be fun to race that track 👍

Discussed before but would they really include the Belgian high fens in the course maker if Spa isn't hidden somewhere in the game? Out of all places in the world.

We probably got the Eifel environment in course maker because of Nürburgring. Something's funny. :odd:

Update the City Course TT was 6/12 LA Drag Strip.

Anyone wanting to see the screen shot here's the link:https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/album.php?albumid=832

There's an "Alaska" snow environment among course maker themes, so I'm starting to think that they don't necessarily have much to do with existing tracks.
