GT5 Master Track List (NOT a wishlist)

Bah, you people are not giving room for improvement/expansion...

Say you got all the 57 tracks of GT4 + Spa and others on the wishlist; OK, now what's going to be added in GT6?

The same thing they always (used to) add. New cars and new tracks. Not bring back old ones. If they did that we'd still only have the original Gran Turismo cars and tracks.

Their improvement on graphics alone is about 5 years. It took them two years to complete two city tracks.

We were never going to get all the other on the wishlist, but what we're getting now is extremely disappointing. 5+ years of dev time and we don't even get GT classics like Midfield and Seattle or the iconic Monaco? If these had been replaced by some of the tracks on the wishlist like Spa or Bathurst, I could've lived with that. But it's not even that! It's a pitiful amount of tracks.

"But Forza 3 had even less individual venues!" Yes it did, but its development time was spectacularly shorter. And besides, this is PD and GT we're talking about, we should expect more. I've owned Forza 3 since its release date and one of the main reasons I grew tired of it pretty quickly was its small number of circuits. For me, a wide and varied track selection is the most important part of GT. This doesn't bode well for GT5. It's a massive letdown.

Sigh...

It does not work that way. I hope you understand that.

 Always the same, maybe that's why i've pretty much given up posting on this forum nowadays.

Couldn't they just retouch GT4 tracks like they did with the standards. Also, wasn't their a video at one of the game shows (GC/TGS/E3) that called one of the tracks premium?

I'm not sure about the 'premium track' (I never saw any evidence of it, it was only for the cars), but I don't see why GT4 tracks weren't included.

Old demos of the Nurburgring Nordschleife and an experimental version of GT5P with Circuit De La Sarthe used upscaled versions of GT4 tracks as opposed to the completely re-done ones we have seen in the more recent demos. Everybody complained about the graphics on the 'Ring, and PD re-created it to accomodate the GP circuit and the 24hour race layout.

But in my opinion at least, these early showings of the 'Ring and La Sarthe looked absolutely fine. I can't see why they haven't done the same to all of GT4s tracks. Upscaled models with improved textures, it isn't nearly as taxing as re-creating a circuit from scratch.

It seems completely possible PD would post an initial list there and update it once people discover some surprises they've hidden inside.

However, best not to expect it IMO, yes it is less tracks than GT4 but they've had to rebuild from the ground up, it is not as easy to build cars/tracks now so you cannot just assume it will keep growing on top of GT4. This is something NEW. And if you look at what's there I think any rational GT fan will see that there's a lot to be excited about.

Could it be they pulled most of the gt4 tracks, because of the whole premium standard car thing? Just imagine if we had premium and standard cars and tracks. So after the standard car fiasco, they just decided to cut them to give them more time to remodel the tracks for gt5 and then release them as dlc?

Yeah I think its obvious from a business POV they need something to put in GT6.

I just see no reason for no night time at Daytona? While the roval track SUCKS the 25H of Daytona is still a big deal.

Now I seriously doubt that there will be more tracks. And Piazza del Campo is NOT in because of flags (why couldn't they simply remove the flags from there dammit?!?!?!). Now it's probly just a random track for the kart event or some asteriskasteriskasteriskasterisk.

I thought Kaz said they just removed the flags.:indiff:

Source or it didn't happen.
There's a reason why it isn't on the track list, and I'm sure it has nothing to do with it being unlockable, seeing as it is such a simple track.

Do you guys get an extra hour up there in Canada, because in FL (where the race is held), we only get 24H. :) Hahaha! Just kidding!

As far as what to put in GT6, I can think of a couple things even if they would have put Spa in GT5:

Yas Marina with day/night transition - This would be amazing!
Macau
Adelaide Street Circuit
Road Atlanta with day/night transition
Sebring with day/night transition

All of them with weather. The point is, there are plenty of great tracks out there & PD is not going to run out of material anytime soon...

Wasn't there a preview video which showed Daytona at Dawn? I think it was the same one where a car was emerging from the back of a lorry at some docks. Do you think this preview content is going to be used in game some how? it would be a shame for pd to have created it and then it not be showcased within the game, even if it is just an animation of sorts. Actually, come to think of it there was a car delivery section on the game homepage which showed a lorry. perhaps it's used there?

What do you mean when you say that there are fewer tracks than GT4 people? Do you mean new, because I counted and there are around 60 tracks in GT5 whereas in GT4 there were 50-something.

Maybe as "tracks" but not as real, different variations. I'm not complaining by the way.

Car delivery has been showed I believe. You select it and you get a screen with all cars you've won (and likely also those you've bought) but haven't driven yet.

Are people really being so stupid as to try and justify the awful lack of new and returning tracks by saying 'they need to save something for GT6'. What? Like GT5 is just supposed to be a tease, and if they had put in all the tracks we wanted plus Spa and Hockenheim, there'd be no tracks left in the world to bring to GT6. Honestly.

I'm sorry, but why a lot of people ask for this ?!

Yas Marina Circuit is just a scenary. They built a fantastic scenary and forgot about the track. It's a playground for rich people, with the most modern facilities, but the track design !? It's a lame, boring and pratically impossible to overtake. Have you seen the F1 race !?

Hermann Tilke always makes dull and uninspiring tracks. Sepang and Shangai are the only ones you can call decent.

Don't get me wrong, but tracks like Algarve (Portugal), Interlagos (Brazil), plus the others you mentioned are way better. I would aslo add Mid-Ohio (USA), Bathurst (Australia), Potrero de Los Funes (Argentina), Hermanos Rodríguez (Mexico), Norisring (Germany),...

GT4 had approx. 52 unique track variations, this total excludes reverse & weather such as Tsukuba Circuit Wet. The new track list count includes reverse & weather layouts.
Take a look at SHIRAKAWA Akira list you will see that there now is only 28 unique tracks. PD this time has padded their track count by including these other variations.

No. Sakhir is awesome as well as his overhauls of Fuji and Hockenheim. Istanbul also offers one of the most overtaking opportunities of any of his circuits.

I'm just using examples in response to the "PD needs to hold back tracks for GT6."

The whole point of my post was that there are plenty of tracks out there even if PD had included Spa, Hockenheim, Bathurst, Silverstone, Estoril, Infineon, Imola, Jerez, etc in GT5.
