I don't think there are roads near the Eiger. All of the courses were modeled after walking trails as the description video on GT5: Prologue stated.

I'm talking about this road - Transfăgărăşan highway. Is the real road near the mountain range?

Google maps are awful if you want directions from japan to china it tells you to jetski across the pacific.

Hm, It tells me to take the 串木野~里~中甑~鹿島~長浜 Ferry, Jetski sounds more fun though.

Edit: haha you're right, I see it now. Good to hear.

Ok. I haven't followed GT5 at all tbh. Couldn't be bothered. Got fed up with the delays etc etc etc and became a bigger Forza fan. That aside, now it's out next week, I'm getting all the dirt on it as I'm obviously getting it on release day.

A question about the tracks though. Just been looking through the list. First time I've ever seen it.

Suzuka. Is there no full Suzuka without weather? As in just a normal/dry Suzuka?

Their is two versions of the full Suzuka Circuit, one is dry as in previous GT's, the other is with weather.

Just a side note of curiosity why High Speed Ring was selected to have weather. Grand Valley (full course) would seem to have been a better candidate since it's usually included as one of the endurance events usually lasting 60 laps where weather would play an important role.

Maybe this would mean that GVS doesn't have an endurance event this go around? That would suck honestly. I would love to see an endurance race with variable weather (rain, snow, sleet, sunshine, fog) and basically require one's attention to every detail in order to adjust perfectly to conditions. High Speed Ring unfortunately doesn't translate as well to that as GVS would (1 tunnel vs. 3 tunnels).

Hey guys. Sorry if this has already been done, but I just did some number counting and found something that further leaves me doubting the official list. I counted the list, variations included, and there are 74. However when I watch the video with the track list from practice and counted (Variations included), that actually has 77, which outnumbers the "Official" list. Maybe its just me, but I feel even more doubtful about the "Official List" now.

That can be. In the video the weather and time tracks were considered separate tracks. The Official track list, although not undoubtedly complete, includes all shown in the video plus variations of the Nordschleife and TGTT.

Has it been confirmed if we have Top Gear style replays for the TG Test Track yet.

That would be pretty impressive if they use the same camera positions as Top Gear. Not from a technical point-I'm sure it could be matched frame for frame with tripod cam and in car cam. It would give you feeling of watching show-only you are the star in a reasonably priced car! Or Enzo :)

Yes , let's hope so. I've asked it before , but no one seems to know. Would be great to see the exact same camera angles as they always use in the replays in TG at the TG track.
I also don't think it would be very hard to recreate ?

Wait wait. . . I don't get it. Are the majority of tracks available for weather and only a few available for dynamic weather or what?

Only wet on nurburgring, suzuka, SS routes and a few others. Not dynamic across all of them unfortunately :(

So we have a track called Tokyo Harbor to add to the list according to RDK he has just unlocked it. It is a Karting track.

Isn't Tokyo Harbor a course maker theme?

He says he unlocked the track and the theme.

RDK
"yes ... the new kart track is tokyo harbor"

and when asked about the theme,

Beat the Beat:
"Has that unlocked it in the course maker too or was that there already?"
RDK
"too"

Maybe it is a bit of an error as he is from a non english speaking country.

Yeah they use them for rallying don't they?

Maybe it is the same for Kart races but they must have specific layouts rather than being random like the Rallying.

In a video of driving challenges, in the Kart challenge track selection, instead of fixed layouts, there were course maker theme thumbnails, probably indicating that the track there is randomly made rather than fixed.

Unless we wee a screenshot of a fixed layout in a track selection screen of this Tokyo Harbor karting track (like the Piazza del Campo/Siena Karting track), we can't be sure if it's a new fixed track or the result of the course maker functionality.

Good point, sorry for jumping the gun, we will have to wait for RDK or Amar to confirm if this is the case, either way it is nice for them to utilise the themes this way.

I meant a fixed track that essentially just uses saved Course Maker parameters, but who knows!
Strange thing is I thought Tokyo Bay was on the first beginner Kart challenge? Or maybe he just had to win that to unlock it.

Random question:
Anyone know if the "Kart Track Course Maker" layouts can only be driven on with a kart? I'd think it's likely, but I quite hope that we can drive anything on them, that would be nice.

Slightly off topic but was looking at Google Maps for different tracks like Route 246 etc.
Looked up Tsukuba Circuit. There is a second track there and the Google spy sattelite caught a race in action Linky-link
