Spa in GT2, small section of it. So that is probably the reason for the folder of goodies they had on it

It's clearly modelled on Spa, but at the same time, I seriously doubt it is. For one, it looks far too deep; for another, the aproach is all wrong - it's constantly downhill from La Source to Eau Rouge, whereas this just dips straight down. You can also see straight through Eau Rouge on the right hand side, but that version has its view obscured by a rocky outcrop.

Why would Polyphony add those weather locations in the main menu of GT5P if they didn't hint at real world circuits in GT5? To tease fans in an unnecessary way? I doubt it unless they didn't foresee the possibility that people would search for a greater meaning with those weather locations. And the following of those locations are already in or confirmed for the GT series.

Daytona Beach - Daytona International Speedway
Fuji - Fuji Speedway
Le Mans - Circuit de la Sarthe
Monterey - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
Monza - Autodromo Nationale Monza
Motegi - Twin Ring Motegi
Nürburg - Nürburgring
Sonoma - Infineon Raceway
Suzuka - Suzuka Circuit
Tuskuba - Tsukuba Circuit

I know we cannot allow ourselves to conclude anything from it but I think the remaining weather locations (like Spa) are a stronger hint than most other hits we have been exposed to. But then again, the locations do not include Indianapolis which will be in GT5 but maybe Indianapolis was added to the game after they were somewhat certain about the others. Pure speculation.

Just thinking. Assuming that:

- All GT5P weather locations will be added
- All GT4/GTPSP tracks will be added
- All tracks from the "unintentionally leaked" PD reference material list image will be added

Then 70+ would be the number of circuits rather than the number of courses (which includes variations):

There would be place for a few more ovals and a couple of completely new original tracks.

Wasn't Indianapolis one of the weather locations?

It did sound like that was the case. Kaz said that the "Total number of individual tracks would be 70+" or something like that. The way he said made it seem like that there would be 70+ tracks and a bunch of other variations. Which, 84 total tracks with variants fits with the average increase of tracks from game to game. It's starting to sound like the "20 locations" was indeed, 20 different locations from around the world, and over 70 courses. between those locations.

Not even with the most conservative track count I've been able to come out with 70+ variations/courses with only about 25 tracks, even by counting reverse versions (PD never counted reverse versions as courses, by the way).

To reach 70 real "variations" there have to be at least around 45 individual circuits/tracks.

That depends on the definition of "course", however. A course could for example be defined as a variation of a track (as in: Suzuka -> West Course, East Course, Full Course). In that case "unique" could mean that their reverse versions (where available), which share their same layout and therefore that are not unique, are not counted.

All doubts would have been cleared if he used "circuits" instead.
What is clear, however, is that there will definitely be more than 20-25 tracks/circuits as often implied (even in the official site!).

Well Kaz knows what he is talking about. After the, standards have no cockpit fiasco, which everyone thought was due to translation issues, but wasn't, we should know better :)

What Kaz says is not open to interpretation as much as we thing it would be anymore

Actually, a bunch of us were able to face reality and not convince ourselves it was a mistranslation from being in denial.

Here we go with cockpits, they're the 2nd most unrealistic view point for racing games. Why have two steering wheels? it's like you're driving from the back seat. It's overrated IMO. Anyway, on topic- 70+ tracks? We have a good list of them so far, what tracks are missing, if any?

Actually their all unrealistic since it is a video game.

You'll enjoy hood view. Available on all cars.

LAguna Seca is already in no doubt about it.
I watched SPA F1 race that was unbelieveable race.
I pray it must be in.

It seems a lot with 70 different locations, my bet is 70-80 different varriation in total, and about 20-25 different tracks

Impossible to get that many variations with only 20-25 tracks. GT4 has 38 unique tracks and a total of 83 variations. Even if 20 of the 25 tracks are fictional, it'll still be way short of 70 variations.

Don't believe that. Seeing as its a Wiki article that Anyone can edit, its likely false.
