I've edited my post and added Rome, Madrid and Tuscany. Besides, ten new tracks is good enough to me. đź‘Ť As I was getting used to the idea of having only 20 tracks this is a nice surprise. :D

BTW: ZR1 rules, the most incredible american car ever made, I will use it to crush some newbies on GTRs in online mode, nice signature :D.

Finally, someone answers my sig!

P.S why isn't the desert track in the 458 and FT86 videos counted that track looks fantastic
There was no desert track in any videos, watch them again ;). There's a track in the 458 Italia video where there's fields of corn on the sides of the road, I've seen a few people mistakenly think that's a desert track but it's not. It's a road track in or around Tuscany.

I am very happy that there will be more than 20 tracks. I just want all the older tracks to return and hopefully be baffled with the new tracks.

Tokyo Game Show 2009

IGN: How many different locations will we see in the game?

Yamauchi- There's 20 locations and there's going to be 70 different types of courses that are going to be in those locations.

Now that I watched the interview again, it does sound quite good that we'll see many tracks (more than we saw in GT4) Perhaps all being transferred over plus brand new ones?

Oh thanks for the information, but I thought the Tuscany track was that in the E3 video which the WRC cars race in.

:D it wasn't that hard, you know. The viper ACR is the hell of a car, but the ZR1 appears to be more savage and more attracting to drive, it's the first american car I will drive.

What a correct interpretation of an interview can do for us, huh? There we are, all satisfied and happy to have a lot of tracks. :D GT5, bring it PD.

so it takes the americans a 640hp car with a weight of 3300lbs to beat a 3800lb fat turd of a japanese cereal box racer with only 480hp?
These vette vs the world comparisons are getting stale.

Why the hate from a native born American? (lol)...well maybe native born....

Chicagoans..

native born? LOL
I'm just tired of the whole vette sack riding that's been going on since it came out.
It's a good value track car, that's all. No need to make it king of the hill just cause it's american.
As for the chicago comment, you're from new york, so you should definitely not be talking.
I live close to chicago, I'm not from chicago.

Anyone feel like making a list of the 70 most likely tracks?

Sure, using Kazunori's explanation from TGS 2009: "There's 20 locations and there's going to be 70 different types of courses that are going to be in those locations."

1. Circuit de la Sarthe I (chicanes)
2. Circuit de la Sarthe II (no chicanes)
3. Fuji Speedway 90's
4. Fuji Speedway 80's
5. Fuji Speedway 2005
6. Fuji Speedway 2005 GT

50. Cathedral Rocks Trail II
51. Chamonix
52. Grand Canyon
53. Ice Arena

Now, there's about 4 left. I don't want to guess, but it won't be hard to fill in a few more. Perhaps a few more variations? It seems clear, though, that we'll get most, if not all of GT4's tracks + new ones.

we don't really know what "20 locations/70 variations" means. Your list is as far as we can get in my opinion.

bad link

either way, what I said stands. That "interpretation" isn't clear.
I know what we all want it to mean, but at this time, there is no clear answer.

I'm afraid they're counting forwards and backwards as variations. I am hoping that most of the tracks from GT4 are in the new one but I am highly doubting it with the 20 locations part. To me 20 locations=20 tracks. Which is wayyyy off from GT4. My fav 3 tracks from GT4 that have not been confirmed are El Capitan, George v Paris, and Swiss Alps. I would love to see Buttonwillow in this one.

let's hope that they're being conservative with the numbers as they were with GTPSP.
On the other hand, maybe the track number is low enough where they won't overestimate.

If locations=countrys, then they would probably be:

1. USA
2. UK
3. Germany
4. France
5. Japan
6. Switzerland
7. Belgium
8. Canada
9. Brazil
10. Australia
11. China
12. Hong Kong
13. Singapore
14. Spain
15. Italy
16. Rome
17. Turkey
18. ?
19. ?
20. Location for fictional tracks

Although if locations refers to countries, then variation must mean number of tracks, so the real number of variations would probably be around 200.

Ditto, regarding New York the city.

Where's Spa? It still just a possibility?

@Dave_sz - I can't accept the comparison between ZR1 and GTR, they're completely different on purpose and soul, the comparisons only happen because the marketing depts of each side wants to show what car is faster on a given track or situation, but a car is much more than just that. I, by myself consider the GTR a far better car, cheaper, more useable and much more well engineered, the ZR1 is a totally different approach, it has soul and power, it may feels incontrollable and savage, just like the F40, that's why I'm praising it, not because it's american. I would love corvettes even if they were manufactured by Dacia in Romania.

Different cars and different experiences, that's what GT is about.

Oh yeah, when it comes to vote for the best car manufacturer country, I can say with no xenophobia or not being biased: Germany comes first in my personal preference, my friend. :D

Here's my extreme wishful thinking. It doesn't add up too well to the 20/60 statement, but could easily meet 20/70.. by some peoples' judgement :sly:

I just figured I'd share.
