If you read this, like I said, you would have your answer.

As announced late last December, Polyphony Digital will be terminating the online services for Gran Turismo 5 on May 30, 2014. Now, the company has shared more information regarding how you can keep using downloadable content (DLC) you may have purchased in the game after this date has passed.

Be sure to review the complete instructions for each DLC pack you own or want to keep.

The DLC items will be removed from the PlayStation Store on April 30, 2014. If you’ve already purchased and installed these DLC packs, they can be downloaded again in the future, with the notable exception of the “Paint Pack” and “Racing Gear Pack”, which cannot be re-installed if your PS3 game data is deleted.

The announcement also confirms the end of the “Gran Turismo TV” service, which has been slowly winding down after Super GT content was pulled at the end of 2012. Distribution of all content will end on May 14, 2014, and the service will be completely taken offline on March 14, 2015.

I did read it and, like I said, that was the "Keep Your Gran Turismo 5 DLC After Online Services Close" thread.

I'll say it one more time ... that thread addressed PURCHASED dlc. My question was not about PURCHASED dlc. That thread did not address or answer my question.

However, a quick call into Sony let me know that it may be free for PS+ members. And discounted for non-members.

I'm glad you still didn't get your answer. Most DLC is purchased, that's how they make money. The DLC items will be removed from the PlayStation Store on April 30, 2014, so if it's not there good luck getting it.Probably why they posted how to save it.

Wow. Are you reading too fast ... or comprehending too slowly?

I said I put in a call to Sony, to which I got an answer (free for PS+ members, discounted for non). You did see that, right?

The whole point is, will they decide to make dlc free before they take it down? Who's gonna pay for something they can't even use (online)? Unless, GT5 dlc can be used in GT6, which I highly doubt.

Yes, PD the big bad wolf will be knocking on your door in May, forcing you to buy GT6. And they will also strong arm you into buying online credits as well. :banghead: Really? Forcing people?? You do have a choice you know.
It's because they have to pay for the servers and or boost GT6 sales...

Ok if I read what you posted, you said you called Sony and it may be free, not that it would be free. I am a PS Plus member and DLC on 99% of the "free for Plus Members" are not free ,don't get your hopes up.

Yes, he said "may", not "would". I'm not a Plus member anyway, so even a possible discount on dlc that you can't use online doesn't appeal to me.

GT6 for ps3 is a rendered GT5 for me
Only in ps4 you see the difference.Same happens to other games such as BF.
In my poor opinion there's no point for them to boost gt6 on ps3.

Seems rather short sighted to build an entire title around online play and have it only be available for a limited time. What good is an online title without online support? Much less fun than GT4 now the online portions will no longer be available. Feels more like renting a game rather than purchasing one. How long will we be able to play GT6 once GT7 comes out? Hard to invest money in something when it's existence is only fleeting.

Really? I guess you haven't played GT6, to bad. It's on sale now for $39.00 cause GT5 is gone soon.

First of all, GT6 is not gonna be ported to PS4. No chance.

They're working on GT6's updates now, and GT7.

Second of all, GT6 is so much more than a re-rendered GT5. The gameplay improvements from GT5 to GT6 are the largest by far the series has ever seen. GT6 is hands down the best driving physics you can get on any console and frankly it makes GT5's physics look outdated as hell.

AH! AN OPTIMIST!!! RUNNNNNNNNNN!!!
Ok, seriously though, it's about damn time someone had faith in PD. They are one of the best developers out there in my opinion. Right up there with the folks at Valve and Naughty Dog.

How about a download we can purchase that will allow us to continue to use some features offline?

Would love to access some permanent Seasonal Events,
or perhaps use my laptop to continue using photo mode,
and/or make some trades with friends who still play GT5.

The Seasonal Events idea is cool. You can save it to your HDD so you can play them offline.

(But I don't think it is going to happen.)

Yeah, their thinking is that if you're still on GT5, you might not get on GT6.

Well, they can stop thinking that way.
Taking away old GT won't sell new GT.
As if I can't use one less game to play.
I'll be enticed to upgrade, not coerced.

I loved GT5 online. I didn't do shuffle, so I haven't given up much with GT6 online.

They really should keep the GT5 online servers up at least until GT6 catches up to GT5.

I don't mind if they take GT5 online away, but only if they keep the seasonal races up as a supplement to A-Spec. The last 20 or so seasonals have been tremendous. I love the occasional F1 races and variety. The PP system is also a great motivator to keep the cars stock or less powered in order to increase competition.

But the Seasonal Events ARE online. It's my understanding that everything online stops.

Wait, are you implying that even photomode won't be accessible?
