GT5 Online Servers Coming Down?

I didn't get the AE, so all I can even think would be updates, or it's just a thing with the AE cars. Never had that problem with cars obtained in-game in GT6. In GT5, the only time I had that was if I reloaded a game save after trading a car, that car would need it's thumbnail reinstalled. You have to be online to even get the AE cars, right? So that's not an issue?

Yes, you have to be online. Like you said, it's probably just an AE thing.

Having read the entire thread up to now, I just want to verify that gifting items (car tickets, paint chips, etc) will go away with the shut down of the servers. I assume the "Profile" interface is fed by the servers.

I can't find that "free" GT5 "Family Upgrade" we are suppose to get before the servers go down.
Does anyone know where it is in the PS Store?

I'm almost certain that it was automatically downloaded. If it wasn't... Well then I wasn't much help :P

This has to be the greatest racing game made im gutted its going offline, knock spots off gt6 aswel but alas things move on, i know alot of people frown on the use of garage editors and rightly so but not the server is closing it may be a chance for some private fun with the game, does anyone know if these garage editors will be able to be used once server closes

I played this game end to end to end i love it now its closing server id like to play with garage editor see what i can do does anyone know if they will work after server has gone pls

This may have been asked already, but I didn't see it.

Is there any chance PD will let us download all the DLC cars for free before they take the server down? I mean, they might as well because once the server is down, no one can buy them anyway.
there is a way around this but you need to have a friend who has these downloads on their ps3 if you do then your sorted mate

Those frowning have yet to complete 100% of the game and probably never will.
I find the idea of throwing games in the trash once you've completed 100% insulting.
By all means, get as much fun out of them as you can! You paid for the game, not them.
So long as it's not used maliciously, which is nearly impossible without the online service.
Once you've completed GT5, you can spend years of your life collecting 10,000 items or...

i agree, im new at this and notice your message is cut shortdid u give advice on the use of GE in the rest of message

I was implying that is one option available once online services end and then nobody will care anymore.
My advice would be to keep multiple backups just in case & take your time with things, there's no rush.
There is the 7,000 item limit to watch out for and you should keep at least one unmodified game save.
That way you can always go back and do over if you mess up along the way.

thank you i have 3 accounts running on this game 1 has every car in it the other i play around with and the 3rd i use for online so ill just play around with them i guess

How crappy that they end services and did not make all cars from the online dealership available within the offline dealership. So hope you collected all of the standard cars that you wanted before services went dead. PD just doesn't think about its customer.

Thank you PD! Thank you Sony!
I can say that almost all of my PS3 life had been GT5 and only GT5. Now that GT5 remains crippled with half of what PD (and Sony) had sold with it been taken away, I will put a custom firmware on it, a bunch of pirate copies of Sony's games and sell it for a mere nothing!

Thanks for setting me free!

(I won't by any sony products ever again.)

I don't even see a point of discussing the servers being shut down. They have been, and the WILL NOT be turned back on.

Its not Impossible to get your missing or wanted items in gt5

When they were selling this game, online things were supposed to be the major play in it. Now they took this away. That's for the real value of whatever sony branded bought.
No more sony (and pd).
Most of GT5 news where what that japanese crackhead had been saying/doing anyway.
