Stock Time Trial 370z - still sounds better than the recent demos IMO from a realism point of view

Note no tinny throttle blips on downshifts!

I believe that 'blip' you're looking for is the SynchroRev feature that's built into the 370Z

But I don't know, you tell me. :ill:

Holy crap, I kinda forgot how good the time trial demo sounded. That stock 370z comparison is almost dead on in my opinion, and the tuned version sounds gorgeous.

I don't know why sony/pd couldn't just let us keep the TT version on our PS3's for as long as we wanted. I know it was meant to be used for contest purposes, but even so, I would still probably be racing those 2 same cars on that one track right now...

Yes I liked playing the TT as well. I did love the tuned versions sound.

I quit playing Prologue for a while and just played that. I thought it wasn't going to last long I even posted I thought it wouldn't. I would think PD would give us something because of the delay. But then I thought if they did then it might look like defeat on their part. I wish they would've just left the TT on our systems and just disabled the online time somehow.

No, I meant when you blip the throttle to drop down a gear to keep the revs matched, it should sound like a person has pushed their heel on the pedal. Not this tiny blip (that stays in the high revs) you get in Prologue and all the demos, that a person in real life couldn't possibly do. Plus it sounds better with a proper throttle blip

Prologue tuned 350z

Real, listen to the downshifts

Also nice bit of 350z drifting

The 370Z automatically rev matches on downshifts, in the auto and manual, so it does match the sound then. I've driven a few and it's a cool feature. Editor reviews will talk about this feature too.

It can also be turned off so the driver can have more control and do it themselves. 👍

Grrr, you people still don't understand what I'm talking about!!!

Have a listen to the downshifts at 0:32, those are what I call tinny throttle blips! Do you really think a Corvette ZR1 would allow you to do downshifts like that in real life?! Hell no!

In real life the downshifts sound like this

I know what you mean CoolcolJ, those automatic throttles blips are a cool feature but on some cars it doesn't fit right... they can be deactivated though, by selecting manual clutch. About that 370 tuned video, if we don't hear the throttle blips maybe it is due to the very close gear ratio, keeping the engine at high rpm ?

Actually what I was getting at, was that the GT5 Time Trial 370z, both versions had proper thottle blips that are missing in Prologue and recent demos. So hopefully this means the sound engine is different in the Time Trial, and an example of the final build.
The time trial blips also sounded a bit more varied and more human like

I'm afraid MCR's title track is going to suck hard...

Oh, you meant the CARS! Oh, well, I'd love for GT5's cars to sound like they do in real life. But, since no racing game has blown me away yet, I'm sure I'll be fine with the car sounds in GT5.

I'm pretty sure there is a merit for Polyphony to have picked MCR. My guess is that the title music would be so bad that the when your driving in the game it will sound better because of contrast. Smart! :sly:
