Does anyone know if the sound going to be any better/clearer than in GT5P?, because to me it just sounded kinda flat and somewhat lifeless. Yes ok i know i dont have the best speakers (i dont use tv for sound btw) but GT4 sounded much better and louder than GT5P does. I booted up GT4 last night just to test that and it was definetly much better than in GT5P.

Anyway, these new videos are the ultimate proof that good sounds will sound good even on crappy recordings.
So much for those who kept repeating the "youtube quality is the culprit" mantra.

We still need interior/bumper/hood cam views to judge the sound as I'm sure most of us don't opt for the chase cams (I personally find it hard to control the cars in chase view).
Did you not watch the Honda CRZ video?![]()
It's not speakers. Owner of them is mad and deaf![]()
Jokes aside. GT5P Sounded WAAAAAAAAAY better than GT4 and new videos from retail GT5 souds waaaaaay better than GT5P
see griphit500 comparition IRL vs GT4 vs GT5
We can clearly put to rest Vacum cleaner subject. We can hear grunty and meaty voice![]()
EDIT:
Video of Motul Civic on SSR7.
Compared with the real one, and how it sounded in GT4...
Hmmm since posting that i did some looking around, and found quite a few people with that very same view.
Maybe i got the PS3 audio setup wrong or something?. Because on mine, when i played GT4 on my PS2, then went into GT5P on my PS3, the GT4 game definetly sounded much better.
My ears are tuned to sound quality, as i do spend a lot of time creating songs and making DJ music mixes. So maybe my audio setup is wrong or something.
I do believe its set to auto via HDMI in the PS3 settings, as well as being set to one of the Dolby settings (or whatever the setting is called).
I guess i should look into it, as i want the same, if not better sound experience that i had/have from GT4. Well thats when this damn game gets released

It also sounds just as whizzy in the interior / bumper views as Prologue's Z4.
It's possible that GT5 is plagued by consistency issues, just as previous iterations were.
It's a standard model and it sounds different to the M Coupe in GT4]
You do realise there are three audio settings within the game (GT5P) itself: Living Room, Small Theatre and Large Theatre. Unless you have proper Home Theatre setup, I'd opt for the first two. Even through my TV speakers, the second option (Small Theatre) plus a slight reduction in treble (-3 to -4 db) and an increased Bass, bring about a much improved sound.
And having a proper PS3 setting makes a huge difference. I can't remember my exact setting since I've sold my PS3 a few months ago. But it's worth doing a bit research and understand your basic audio setup. I remember when I finally got the right setting (on the PS3), the sounds of the cars improved significantly.
I still can't understand how people can make sound judgement (pun intended) of the audio quality, positively or negatively, when it's captured through a camera microphone and viewed via Youtube. The sound have gone through multiple compression/encoding. Just listen to the music in the background (if it's there) of any GT4/5 videos and use it to gauge the quality. If audio quality of music you hear on these videos sounds nothing like what you would normally hear on your system, then it's a good indication that it's not good enough for anything but casual viewing.

But you also notice how different his MX-5 on Tsukuba videos sounds to the other one
Vids removed by user / Sony!
Not really sure thats a fair comparison as thats a completely different (and older) car.
Yes i realise i can choose from 3 audio settings inside of the game. Ive tried all three, and i really didnt hear any difference.
Im probably gonna go out and buy some of those Logitech X5500's and see if they are better. Mine right now are the pretty much a basic 5.1 setup, so im assuming they will be a great step up from what ive got.
Jeeez with those, and the PS3, plus the 1080P LED i bought just for this game it BETTER BE WORTH ITActually i know this is like wayyyy off topic, but what would you guys recommend regards speakers for the PS3?. Im assuming a direct optical connection?, rather than going via the HDMI TV cable.

They are different cars - one is the 1800 RS, and the other is a 1600 from the previous generation. But they both do sound "good", I suppose, as far as I can tell.
Yeah, the GT5 one was a Z4 M Coupe, not a Z3, and was definitely a Premium car.
I would hold fire on buying new equipment. Try changing the PS3's audio settings and faff about with various listening devices you have to hand - if you've got some semi-decent headphones lying about, that'll help identify what's "missing" in your sound and should be more informative to any changes in the game's audio settings.
I send the optical output to my soundcard in my desktop PC, which then processes the 5.1 to either my (cheap!) 5.1 setup, or my headphones (using a 3D headphone algorithm for positional audio.)
This means my audio is largely controlled by my PC!
If your 5.1 setup has an amp, or master unit, try playing with settings on that instead - the low frequency channel is a bit low in the mix normally, so crank up the sub a touch if it helps.
