wtf?
That's the problem with the sounds, somehow their sound samples are coming out way to digitalized. We shouldn't be trying hard to hear a proper sound, it shouldn't be an issue at all! That whine you hear isn't PD trying to model a supercharger whine, the car isn't supercharged in the first place. It's just the way they do things(maybe Griffith has a better understanding here) wich is ruining the final product.

Um, what?
Wasn't really trying hard at all, just took a listen and there it is. Also, I kinda got it the first billion times the sound samples are digitized (I play GT5 alot, I would know this).
Lol! Yeah why are we talking about this same thing for like the 100th time so late?? Damn coffee!!! Lol!
If only we could hack into the game files and re-arrange them properly...
That is why i NEVER drive the V8 M3 premium....as soon as i hear that sound i instantly change the car. (similar with the stock R8 V8)

diegorborgesTo show that people exagerate.
GT5 sounds are FAR from perfect like I already said imho. But calling them vacuum cleaners it's a bit childish and generic.
And the joke is old. Very old.
It's no exaggeration. You even just admitted that GT5 sounds are far from perfect. To show that people exagerate.

Still doesn't like an Aventador should.no freaking duh, it's a racing exhaust. why not put a video of the stock exhaust rather than one with the racing exhaust? or were you too lazy to look?
The problem is that when people say "vacuum cleaner", they're usually being antagonistic. Like the V8-muscle brigade throwing the term "sewing machine" around to describe anything that isn't an SBC with 280 cams, or whatever...
And it is an exaggeration, unless your hearing is so devoid of sensitivity that you can't hear that most cars do actually sound like cars in GT5. Of course, it doesn't help that they often don't sound like the right car...
RACECARSometimes, I think you are one of the few in GT5 section with common sense as this is exactly what I see. And then there's the oh so famous excuse when you call them out on it thats along the lines of "If GT5 sound's didn't sound like that", as if making the same overused joke is going to solve anything. People need to learn to be constructive and less childish.
Part of the problem with wanting sound accuracy is that on occasion you will have to put up with cars that don't sound aesthetically pleasing if they didn't sound as such in real life. It's very doubtful that the pseudo-DTM car that the IS-F Racing Concept pretty much is sounded like a Windsor V8, and making it sound like some of the other V8-engined DTM cars was the proper move. It may sound pretty non-distinctive now, but it sounds a lot closer to this than it did before. What the hell happened to the sound of the Lexus IS F Racing Concept '08?
Haven't used it for quite a while and so I gave it a try for the new time trial nad... couldn't believe my ears.
That Lexus was one of the best sounding cars in GT5, and now PD messed it up completely. Now it sounds like all the other cars... like a lawn mower.![]()
Anyone notice that the start up engine sounds in the garage much better than the in-game sounds? You know, when you get into a car in the garage menu.
I wonder what they used there...

Well said, CorvetteConquer.
@ CorvetteConquer: there is a difference between a raw recording and a sample prepared for looping ...
