Well guys perhaps they change the sound in another update.. This happened before although i agree its such a shame to release this car with such a bad car sample :/ Thats really a turn-off!

I doubt it. I assume they have a certain procedure of making the sounds, and they can't completely change it just for some cars in this game. So I suspect the cars that will be added to GT5 will still sound bad, and the major overhaul should come with the next game (well hopefully).

But like the others already mentioned, the problem is most likely the way they record samples. I'm afraid that they will have to re-record everything (hopefully under the guidance of a good sound director) if they want to solve this problem.

They don't need a sound director, but an automotive engineer who knows how and why cars make noise/sound.

Having heard PD's vehicle sounds from GT1-GT5 & knowing that PD are fully aware of user disappointment regarding vehicle sounds for many years, yet PD still are plagued by terrible sounding vehicles to this very day.

Anything is possible, but these reasons are why I have very low expectations for GT6 in the sound department.

We did not expect that, what we expected was, PD would "try" to get the sounds "similar" to the real one.

Maybe I went too much off that guy's post. Still, I'm amazed at how so many people set themselves up for dissapoint knowing full well that PD hasn't gotten a large majority of their sound right. I just think that expectation knowing full well that they are supposedly concentrating on GT6 seems completely unrealistic. I've come to point where even as a GT fan, I don't expect anything great from them. I'm honestly surprised they bothered giving us the HSV-010 GT as I was not expecting any new or somewhat recent Super GT cars to be in the game.

They didn't "give" us the HSV. We are required to pay for it if we want it. As I've said before, bitching amongst ourselves won't change anything. Voice your displeasure (respectfully) on Kaz's Twitter feed. Maybe, just maybe, he will find it necessary to patch it with a sound file that better resembles the original engine note.

Well i actually bought the 3 cars...at least as collectibles.

The HSV sounds horrible but the gearbox is as bad as the sounds...the car as it comes can´t do no more than 260 Km/h in fifth gear! and in real life it can make over 280km/h using the 6 gears... I had to look at the other Super GT cars to make it similar at least...

This game is a huge beta...still feels like that after 2 years...incredible.

My hopes are for GT6...if they do the same mistakes as in GT5...

Even if they change it, it will still sound bad.
The only cars which sound slightly good are some American V8 powered machines and also only in the low revs.

I've given up on the sound too.

It's actually kinda sad, because I'd play GT5 a lot more if the engine noises were exciting. But the driving just feels so sterile this way. 8/

They really hav no excuse to continue to release cars with reused but slightly changed engine samples, they are treating like fools. GT6 will have to correct the sound issue or I will just stick with forza. Polyphony need to realise they have some serious competition wether the gt5 fanboys will admit it or not

I really have no problem with paying 99 cent for the HSV, but I atleast expect PD to put real effort behind it, not just modelling... This car is a legend because of its amazing sound!
Most cars don`t sound accurate, but some still sound good, like the MP4-12c with semi race exhaust, stock 458 or the 908 HDI FAP. Others just sound completly retarded, f.e. the GT-One or Sauber Mercedes which sound like a Dyson...

I could life with it, if they gave the HSV the engine sounds of the Super GT NSXs, but not with this

It wasn't given in the same sense as say the 2011 GT-R N24 car was so I see your point, but technically, you're still being given it after said transaction. I guess I could just rephrase it as they made it available to us.

Just watch some youtube videos and listen to the cars in GT5 side by side, you'll hear the difference right there and then, providing that your hearing ability is functional of course.
