Yes, you're right, I also noticed that, but it may been that PD cannot model F1 in so much detail (compare the F2007 to the real one, some user did that, and even silly details weren't as accurate as the other normal cars) because they aren't allowed to take photos that may reveal confidential data about the car, seeing that Red Bull are this year's winning team, and it may well have many things in common with last year's Red Bull.

See for yourself; the X1 is like a Le Mans car, and if you can't see the picture clearly, modern F1 have never had that shape nor headlights, and it's nothing like the car in yor picture.

Pause at 0:36, it has a Formula One style nosecone, with a Front wing that extends to the bodywork covering the front wheels.

It also appears as though the X1 concept has a transparent cockpit cover for maximum visibilty whilst removing the problem of the drag created by the driver and his open cockpit, hence why you can't see it in the other image.

The image at the end of the main trailer is NOT an F1 car.

12 out of 14 pole positions? (and Lewis' pole at Canada wasn't very legal with the fuel thing) In fact, the only thing that aren't allowing them to win everything are the poor exits that the car makes, and the fact that both drivers are literally fighting against them.

Thats not what I'd call the winning team, the team, Vettel and Webber have basically (along with the car itself) been their own worst enemies.

The Team Peugeot Total 908's qualified 1st and 2nd at Le Mans this year but they didn't win either.

You don't get trophies for qualifying 1st, at the end of the day its the race that matters.

On topic, from what Ive seen, everything points to it being the X1

Maybe it's gonna be used for the 2011 le mans 24 hours?

There are new set of regulations that teams must incorporate a f1-like fin at the back of the engine.

Thats what I know so far. ;)

PD would not model their idea of a RedBull F1 car, if they didn't have the license. They just wouldn't have it. The proportions look similar to the F1 car, yet take features from the T1 too. This will be a very interesting car. Over 400kmh, and doesn't need to abide by rules and regulations. Wonder how fast this will go round the 'Ring.

The "Ghost car" is a 71 or 72 Mustang.
Could be a Mach1 but if Kaz went for the premium muscle in that series, its a 71 Boss 351 Mustang. The top performer in that body style Stang.
Actually it was the fastest of the Bosses.

Yeah, when I listed it on page 97 of this thread, I put it as a Boss, mainly because of the stripe, and it doesn't look like a Mach hood.

Direct Feed X1 trailer

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced a unique partnership between Gran Turismo® and Red Bull Racing to create a virtual car which will push the boundaries of motorsports. The Gran Turismo development team at Polyphony Digital posed the simple question, ‘If you built the fastest racing car on land, one that throws aside all rules and regulations, what would that car look like, how would it perform and how would it feel to drive?” With the assistance of Red Bull Racing’s technology and the knowledge of their Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey , Polyphony Digital were able to produce the answer in the form of the “X1 Prototype” which will be playable in Gran Turismo 5.

Look at the video that SolidSnakeX posted (Thanks mate! 👍), turn on HQ and you will clearly see that it is NOT an open wheeler car, so it isn't the same as the last one seen in the video in GTP news section.
