Shuto Expressway?

@sems4arsenal

It had a HD option on the Red Bull site but they took it down >_>

EDIT:

Oh crud, it is just a "HQ" option, still pixelated. Still, direct link from SHIRAKAWA Akira is still working!

Thanks alot Kusogaki ,looks like they took it down because PD will release it later on.Another question guys will there be a private session or anything new in the coming days?

PD usually do studio tours for media during the TGS weekend, but being so close to release I wonder if they will do it this year.

Did everybody see this page on the Japan website?
http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/products/gt5/campaign/
I'm curious if it means that the Apex booklet will come with the standard game as well as the Special Edition?
Also, those cars at the bottom of the page. Maybe that's what the race mods button will do to all cars?
Japanese only get one option for the game which is the book & the game.
Those cars are the special Stealth cars you get with pre-orders.

Cool, thanks.

I really want the book but I cannot afford to shell out that much so close to christmas :guilty:

Maybe in Japan (but doubt it) as I am not sure what packages they're getting but not in other regions, you will need Signature/Collectors edition to get the book elsewhere.

Edit those stealth cars (all of them) also come with Signature edition

It's a replay, so it should be from a camera.

Plus my naked eye does it too, just in a different way, instead of large broad flares, there a smaller high frequency flares on any light source or specular reflections. It feels empty because of the flares are not there. Those lights are pretty bright, so they don't look right without them

Even GT4 had em

Lens flare isn't real, and you don't see "lens flare" in real life. What you do see is a glare. Like what they have now, and what KZ2 uses (but less pronounced then that).

We are so used to seeing lens flares in movies and games that it becomes a "norm" and something becomes "incorrect" when it's not shown. I'm assuming PD wanted the replay to feel more like you're watching it, instead of from a camera. Which if it was a camera, should have that flare.

As its mentioned on page one,

-* Please note that not all courses will incorporate these visual effects.

is this why we saw the premium tracks as well in one of those vids, ca't remember where?

I think they do that mainly to match their geographic locations and what not. It's unlikely you'll see Laguna Seca snow... it's on the coast line of Cali, closer to Texas than it is Washington. You also wouldn't see rain or snow in a NASCAR race, they don't do races with those sort of things happening.

I think he is refering to a track sporting "lesser" details (pre baked assets, remember the first version of the Ring featured in GT5 demos?)

Kind of like a touched up GT4 version instead of whole new version like Trial Mountain and Laguna Seca, but this is just speculation).

I understand the no snow on Laguna Seca or no rain/snow during a NASCAR oval race.

But it would be fun to do NASCAR in the rain on a road course.

That Trailer is epic, they really know how to make trailers! The music is kicking ass but the horse sound sucks a bit...

And as we can see in the video there will be more F1 cars :) Also it seems like it´s in the "windchannel" (or whats that called in english?)

? that's the X1. That F1 looking car was the X1.

The rally Special Event is just one example of Polyphony's dynamic design approach to GT5. The game's weather system is also auto-generated (on endurance-based and custom tracks only) based on a trio of interacting factors: humidity, temperature and pressure. The combination of those three elements can result in fog, rain, snow or a clear day. Yamauchi said the team cannot even impose specific weather conditions on a particular race but merely suggest them by creating cloudy weather, for example. From there, the system takes over to create weather on the fly. It's an impressive feat that I'll probably love until I have to drive in the rain.

Best thing you can get now till RB or PD makes a HD version available.

@SolidSnakex

Thanks!

Hahaha. Add damage and a handful of A-Spec points at stake and the experience can be a PITA, gotta love it ^_^

I was first wondering why the cockpit was so bright even when the environment was pitch black, but finally noticed the nice touch by PD. When the lambo was right behind the car, it illuminated the Ferrari's cockpit really brightly like there was a lamp in the car. But as the car started moving away from each other, the cockpits starts dimming and dimming and becomes real dark when the lambo was gone. Starts at around 1:50 in the video. Very nicely done.

Ok, why are people using only low beams in these videos(when there are high beams also), so they can't see more than 15m in front of them???💡
btw. I think I saw one of the AI switching between low/high on one occasion in the gamersyde night videos...
Corvette ZR-1 switches from high to low beams @ 2:45(watch from 2:40-2:50)

You have to manually activate high beams and people probably don't know that. I know some site said at gamescom that they're activated with R3.

Hmm I've watched a replay of that run, and now I think it was just a lighting glitch of some sort...
btw. Why aren't the back lights illuminating the ground??
