Im going out on a limb with the idea it could be a race with the X1 Vs an F1 car. The previously posted image from one of the trailers with a Red Bull driver and an F1 car in the background is there for a reason. What you think guys?

The X1 certainly isnt the car under the sheet so question is could it be a 1997 Red Bull F1 car which Sony had the F1 rights for and still would be entitled to use?

I guess the custom paint will be limited to some preset colours, otherwise the screen shouldn't say "McLaren Orange" when you picked a colour. Look back some cars in Prologue, such as Citroen GT, which has plenty of colour to choose from. We may have those colour variations in GT Auto. For sure this is going to be for Premiums only, but I do hope we can switch between factory colours for Standards as well.

I like the addition of custom wheel paint also. Please let us spray original wheels too, not just aftermarket ones.

The car in the background is the X1 I think.
From the trailers The X1 seems like a mix between an F1 & LMP1 car.
Its got the front wing of an F1 car & has things over the wheels (which arent allowed in f1 regulations) the X1 also has a glass cockpit which isnt allowed by the same regulations.
It seems to have the rear end of an LMP1 car though.
It really looks like the X1 from what we've seen. & it makes sense to keep it under covers too as it hasnt fully been unveiled to anyone. Just glimpses.

It could also be a case of having an entire colour wheel to choose from, but for ease of use a selection of famous car colours, such as the Mclaren Orange shown. That way you wouldnt have to go searching the colour wheel for the exact colour when its already available. Forza has a system like this.

Or it's another option to choose colours from another brand/model in addition to creating a unique hue yourself.
But like I said before, if it were indeed "just" the colours already existing on other cars in the game, for me that would be enough as the possibilities would be endless ( not literally ofcourse ).
I'm already chuffed this feature is in.

Well, Red Bull wasn't in F1 until 2005... but the issue is how the F1 gaming rights are set-up. The previous F1 license belonged to Studio Liverpool/Sony (for a certain year, I assume) so I don't think Polyphony can just "use" older F1 cars simply because its a game for Sony. Having said that, I was very surprised to see the Ferrari F2007 in Prologue, which could mean Red Bull might have a say in whether or not they can include an older F1 car in the game. Since Codemasters has the current license, I'm pretty sure, we won't see the RB6 in GT5, but for RB5-and-back, who knows...

Incidentally, there is already a glare effect (visible in the Miura video, when the HDR kicks in initially, and when he ran over the green bollards...) but perhaps it isn't comprehensive yet; although there was that picture of a green murciélago, where the light was glaring off the bodywork. This nicely covers the light-bleed effect on the retina, just need the (above) aperture effects now

Custom Paint but no Custom Liveries, better than nothing, but hopefully well be able to custom paint even R mods so it wont be so hard to be individual, at least a little.

I pointed out the lack of 03 in the special events when those images first came out. It could be F1 related, but my feeling is Vettel was just there for the X1 stuff. They wanted the feedback from a driver, and maybe Newey didn't want to do the voice work. We likely won't know what it is until November 2nd, and I have a hard time even imagining that it's some sort of goof-up on PD's part to skip a number.

Remember these menu screens are still mock ups, since E3 we have already seen quite a few changes. In the special events as far as we know there could be a 08, 09, 10 etc (why else use double digits) that they just didn't want to show yet.

I'm also curious to find out how the experience point system to gain A-spec levels will work.
I wonder if it will be similar to the system used in Enthusia Professional Racing (PS2). That one promoted clean driving using cars at the same or lower performance level than the competition.

It would be really awesome if you could paint any car in any color that are offered by ALL manufacturers, like you could put rims of ANY car on any other car in GT4!👍 (I hope that returns!)

p.s. It would be cool to have additional options, such as "choose your own colour" and types of colors! Applying different colors to different parts of the car would also be welcomed!👍(matte black hood for example)

I think different colour for different parts is possible...take a look at the lambo behind. Blue, red and white!

Why do people keep mixing up PG4 with GT5. They look nothing alike and if you are having trouble differentiating the two all you have to do is look at the driver models.

I'd say you don't need to look anywhere specific. It's obvious GT5 looks 5 times better everywhere, at least I think so.
