imagine playing without driving lines on that track at night
You think that track is dark. Just look at the rally track. It should make for some interesting online play.

I hope someone grabs footage of the car selection screen (especially the VWs), scrolling through all the colors.
nice footage even though the new ones didn't have sound. loli loved the inside cokcpit views but hope they fix those darn jaggies plz.
Just think about what will happen when you are driving along with your super soft racing slick tires and suddenly it starts to snow!

btw, will it begin to snow in the middle of a race or will it just stay the same weather during the entire thing?
Ha an 800HP hippie van lol. The weather is dynamic so it can change during a race.
Somebody should do a better job of this but here is an edited shot.
The more I compare it the more I have to change my mind and agree the car behind the sheet has to be this.

The US site says that dynamic weather will be on select tracks (like LeMans and Nurburgring and probably Daytona)...basically, it sounds like any track used for an endurance race will have dynamic weather and I assume all the endurance tracks will also have changing night and day. That would mean that if the Special Stage Endurance Races return, we might see SSR5 at least in the daylight. Rally stages look like they'll also feature night/day and dynamic weather, which is just fitting.
That said, it does sound like ALL tracks might feature both day and night versions and weather will be included on all tracks. Like Edgar. I doubt it'll be used as an endurance track, so the weather probably won't change during a race. But it might rain the entire race....or snow....or whatever.

This just in: Japan(TGS) has better drivers that Europe(Gamescom) and U.S.(E3)!!!!!!!!!
(Nice to finally see videos in which people are aware that there is a brake pedal on the DFGT)

The official GT site says that not all tracks will have weather effects.

I found this one on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_-w0E9603s
LOL... I know! I don't need to see the drivers push really hard... all I'm asking for is that they stay on the racing line and hit their braking points. A clean lap, thats all. This just in: Japan(TGS) has better drivers that Europe(Gamescom) and U.S.(E3)!!!!!!!!!

Mario Galaxy is from Japan... but that's beside the point...
I got a few vids (very low quality, excuse my phone camera) from my test yesterday:

The rally Special Event is just one example of Polyphony's dynamic design approach to GT5. The game's weather system is also auto-generated (on endurance-based and custom tracks only) based on a trio of interacting factors: humidity, temperature and pressure. The combination of those three elements can result in fog, rain, snow or a clear day. Yamauchi said the team cannot even impose specific weather conditions on a particular race but merely suggest them by creating cloudy weather, for example. From there, the system takes over to create weather on the fly. It's an impressive feat that I'll probably love until I have to drive in the rain.
They don't seem to have any problems turning the rain on for the demo...
