You guys are forgetting that a lot of these people testing GT5 games tend to play fantasy arcade games more than simulation games. Some come with the idea it drives like a real car and assume that because in real life their car stops quickly, you can obviously do that in game; completely ignoring the fact that they do not drive their car with the pedal to the floor board. It hurts to watch people like that driving in GT5, it's like why would you think that you can turn that corner going that fast?

I just can't wait to try out my PSP collection with GT5 physics applied and using my G25. 42" is about the size of a windshield in a car right? I'm all set :D.

I was going off the assumption that all courses would include weather or some type just based off location, that would be a better idea. That would be great if it would also follow time of day at the location as well(optional of course). Well whatever doesn't make it in this game, should be improved upon and added to the next, which I hope is like 3-4 years away.

Actually, the site says "Not all courses will incorporate these visual effects." Whatever that means. I would assume that it means that not all tracks will feature weather, but who knows. I would assume the "standard" tracks wouldn't feature weather. But, again, it could refer simply to DYNAMIC weather and changing night and day. We'll find out in November, I guess.

What was mentioned at TGS by KY was that DYNAMIC weather is only available at courses that CAN BE used for endurance races. I would assume the different types of weather will be applied to every course, where they see fit (Laguna Seca probably won't get snow for example). To me, this means that longer races will have dynamic weather, and shorter races will not, yet still have different weather effects. Short races with dynamic weather just aren't worth it. There wouldn't be enough time for the real effects to take place, if it stopped raining let's say.

I was confused by that too, it could be taken either way but I'm hoping there's a chance of seeing static weather choices for those that don't have dynamic weather.

They don't seem to have any problems turning the rain on for the demo...

That's because the dynamic weather system isn't on in the demo. They just have it set to rain so that people can see what it looks like. What that article is saying is that Polyphony won't be able to force a specific type of weather to happen once the dynamic weather system is turned on.

The X1 looks like it's gonna keep the top laptimers busy for a while (it'll offer a level playing field for the elites) I'm also interested in what Red Bull's involvement could bring in terms of existing racecars (DTM Audis for example) but one thing perplexes me. What on earth does the Engine Block logo in GT Auto mean???? Engine Swap? Engine Service? a look at the engine? Is there anything alluding to it's meaning or was it just put there for me to go crazy. Oh, and looks like PD listened to me :P I guess the Racing MOD will let you change the color, add a wing and put a racing number on. Fear me and my Ruf RGT-R :D

Agreed. It's better to see some good drivers to what is supposed to be done here.......racing!!! In europe and US, it seems Gran Turismo is a demolition derby game.

Ever looked at the top 100 leaderboards in GT5P's time trial section? Most of the drivers there are from Europe and America but there's also people from Japan and the rest of the world of course.

Tried to get a better idea of the X1.

Somebody with more time can do the same in Photoshop or something if they wish, will never be perfect though because the camera pans as the car passes, so the angle/perspective is constantly changing.

Thank you.

So... an F1 car had a 3-way with an LMP and a fighter jet. Awesome.

What we know about online:

1-16 players in a race, up to 32 in a lounge (16 racing 16 spectating as I understand it.)
You can gift cars/parts to friends.
"Track day" events where you can simply join a track and race around as you wish.
Share your photomode photos online with friends
You can access your 'home' from any internet connected PC and compete in B-spec races.

There is more info available I just can't remember, just look around the forum :)

haha I've seen planes with smaller wings than that Citroen GT Race car...

But I'm not complaining. It looks gorgeous.

Yeah in addition to that we will able to make private races and events I believe... I wanted to know more if we will be able to create leagues, maybe tourneys.. how racing events will be organized/created by PD or whoever, will it be static or dynamic for general public; will it be like it is in GT5:P? I'd like to know those small details...

That Citreon looks like it would kill you and your family and your dog if you so much as shift gears a 100th of a sec:scared:ond late.

Now we have reverse light, damage, skidmarks and weather effect.
but, why PD still not change the weird shifting animation ?

Nothing wrong with the paddle shifting animation, as it makes sense to let go of the wheel as you shift up, it's the correct way to paddle shift(hate paddle shifting). Better than no shifting animation at all or late shifting. PD has gone ahead and made the driver anticipate shifting by taking his hand off the wheel when you get close to a shift point. Now enough of the whining and wait until you have played the game for a few hours, then come and complain after you have experienced issues that takes you out of the game. :D

Damn that photo looks so close to real if you don't stare at it too damn long, what an achievement by PD.

Give people a seed and they'll complain about the plant, but if you give people the plant and they'll complain about the seed. In other words, people will always find something to complain about. I agree, though, I hope his being sarcastic. There's so much great content that it's a little silly to cry over little things. Spilt milk can be cleaned with a paper towel. And complaining about such trivial things is what separates humans from the rest of the animal kingdom.

So you're, what, contradicting yourself?

I fail to see any problem with the shifting animation, the only way for it to be life-like, would be if the game could read your brain activity to determine when you're planning to change gear. C'mon people, accept that nothing is perfect at all.

i like the shifting animation, best thing they could have done with it really. Imo

So do I.

In terms of the animation, I saw an onboard shot of Kubica at Spa downshifting. With his hand off the F-duct, his hand was similar in movement to what we see here

The fact the hand is completely off the wheel means it can be turned at will, whilst avoiding the weird graphical glitch of the thumb phasing through the spokes like we saw in a few older demos.
