Wow, they changed Eiger a LOT. I had to watch the beginning three times to figure out where they were on the track, even with the map. :dunce:

This game looks amazing, I have no complains whatsoever. Except that November is so far away!

Actually if the camera was placed under the car or recessed in the bumper, there wouldn't be any rain on it. but I do agree, it is a little weird. But, I probably won't ever use bumper cam, so...

The Bumper cam in GT5 is actually at head height, and about the same position as the driver, but without the car body. There should be some camera water effects ala F1 CE or F1 2010

There would be raindrops on it either way, as the drops would just collect on whatever was covering the camera. But think about it, there wouldn't be wipers, so you wouldn't be able to see a thing.

I would assume weather will be available on all tracks, but dynamic weather is only available on tracks that can be used for endurance races. This leads me to believe, that dynamic weather is only available in longer races (10+ laps or so). Anything less, it's kind of pointless. Yes you'd see the weather change from rain to dry, but the effects wouldn't set in until the track dries up, which would be long after the race is done.

The AI car spinning at 1:38 is a nice touch!

That rain looks like it'll be pretty awesome to run in though, visibility seems to be impacted a great deal.

And it looks like they've included an alternate layout for Eiger too, in the first turn there's a continuation of the straight (which has always been there but wasn't open before), looks like it should be fun!

Has anyone checked which damage model this build is running?

From,
Chris.

I can't hardly wait for Nov 2!! I am going to look at the bright side to make it go faster. I got a haircut yesterday, so I only have one more haircut before GT5 comes out 👍

 👍

The lighting in the cockpit looks much better than Prologue (in Prologue the shadows make it so dark its hard to see). Also noticed some nice backfire on the Lambo when it downshifts 👍. Looks amazing, well done PD.

So with the X1, Vettel was able to beat the F1 lap record at Suzuka on his first lap, by 20 seconds. The record was 1:31. At that pace, based on the 4:39 lap of the Nurburgring in the F1 car in Gt4, the X-1 could do the Ring in 3:38!!! Jeebus!!! I think it could actually do it quicker, since theres more fast sections vs. slower sections at the Ring compared to Suzuka.

Well, the teaser did show the speedometer...and I'm not sure if it was in kilometers per hour or mile per hour. and it is a race car without limits.

It was in kmh I'm sure. In the E3 trailer, Vettel talks about a car that can easily to 400kmh, which has to be this car. 400mph is not realistic. Not saying 400kmh is precisely, but in the case of the X-1, it sounds like it is, lol. There was a report somewhere that said Vettel drove Suzuka in the X-1 and just tore up the track!

Nice spotting i didn't see the backfire the first time round :dopey:

Is that the first time we have seen it? Definately the first i've seen

So with the announcement of GT Home, and it's capabilities, I'm curious to knowif we can access our stats online. If so, how cool would it be to have forum signatures with our race stats? Something like Battlefield Bad Company 2 has with Sigg-o-matic!

We could have our most driven car as a background, with stats like races won, km/miles driven, # of cars in garage, # of credits, etc.

Yeah definitely. It would great for leagues and things like that, like having your driving "resume" available for anyone to look at.

guys - just noticed this - is this some form of new eiger layout?

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Yea, we have pretty much known that there is some form of alternate layout for Eiger since you can see where it separates and reenters the track. However, it also does that on the other end of the track just before the tunnel.

Kind of unusual that you can see the alternate route that you can't take though.

That's a long pit road!!! That's all I could see it being considering it's mapped as a narrower part of the course.
