I've got one I'd like to see based around my university here in Australia. Chances are we'll never see it, but I think it would be a great circuit ...
University of New England (or just
University):
It may not look like much (especially on the eastern side of the circuit), but there's actually quite a lot of curves; the black line I've used really breaks things up. There's also quite a lot of altitude changes.
The startline would be somewhere down around 'Madgwick' on the map. The Start/Finish line would be quite wide, but you'd have to brake hard to take the first corner,
Gate. The road goes through a bit of a dip as it narrows through the right-hander. The next few corners,
Robb and
Earle Page are very fast and flowing, but the road it pitted and rough. The next left-hander,
Duval (my college!) is a really nasty one; it's only semi visible through the sharp left-hander. A long straight carries you down over the creek and then back up the hill to
Trevanna, which is a quick uphill left over a crest that requires a bit of a dodge owing to small concrete island on the left of the road. The road widens through
Mary White and then
Faculty, with another blind crest thrown in for good measure. Hard on the brakes again for
Agronomy, the right-hander that puts you on the narrow ring-road. The next flowing right-hander,
Oorala, is off-camber before
Union, a left-right over another blind crest. Another hard right at the northernmost point on the circuit,
Clarks' I before opening onto
Nursing. It's a high-speed right, but there's a few dips along the way that mean you'll need nerves of steel to take at speed. Then another blind crest (a common theme here) before the drop down to
Clarks' II before the long drag race down to
Madgwick, the fastest point on the circuit. If you get the section between both of the Clarks' bends right, this part is even faster. The map doesn't show it, but Madgwick, the easternmost point of the circuit is followed almost immediately by
School, a narrow, nasty chicane created by a roundabout. Then there's another steep drop down to the creek before
Girraween, the southernmost point on the circuit, which is a hard ninety-degree corner. Then it's back along Queen Elizabeth Drive and while it looks like a drag race back to the Start/Finish Line, there's one final corner:
Overpass, another chicane created by a roundabout just after the point where the road crosses over the highway. It's about seven kilometers all up.
