AH, I remember that car. I thought the concept was for DTM as it looks absolutely nothing like the Super GT car below it.

yes first it was a concept, but they found that the aerodynamic wasnt that good as an real super gt car, so they make it like a real super gt car, change the spoiler and the other aerodynamic flaps at the rear. i read it yesterday, in a german book about race cars.

Porsche 996 GT2-R '05
This is a race car based on the Porsche 996 Turbo.

Courage Oreca LC70 '08
Look it carefully and you'll notice a huge revisement in aerodynamics on this car in comparison to last year's car.

Embassey Racing WF01 '08
Not sure who exactly is the maker of this car so for now its under "Embassey Racing"

Spyker C8 GT2R (Coupe) '08
As its name implies, its the Coupe version. Also, the 06 version should be have Roadster put next to it so that these cars can be differentiated.

-> Ok, I've updated the list.

RACECAR-> I'll get back on your list. And besides, have you gotten my PM?

SR77-> I'll research that IS F Super GT car further, I'll get back to that one also. ;)

-> I revised some of the car names on DP's list, but all is good.

The Lancer Evo VIII FQ-320, 340, and 400 do not have a year after them, and there’s 2 FQ-400s, one with a dash and one without. The one without says ’05 after it, so I’m assuming that’s what it should be for all of them?

Some questions: first, you have 2 Peugeot 207 RCup ‘06’s. Second, what engine option is the Peugeot 207 ’06, and the Peugeot 207 CC ’07? What about the Peugeot 407 Coupe ’05? For that I think there should be 3:

I reckon we can substitute the normal BMW 320i sedan 07 with this, if we're trying to keep similar models off the list:

- BMW
- 320 si
- Sedan
- '06

The Si was the homologation special for the WTCC car, increased the normal 320i power output by increasing the redline, shorter stroke larger bore etc, higher compression ratio, no valvetronic to reduce moving parts.

Different suspension settings, 40kg lighter than 320i, carbon goodies, different aero, special wheels, only 2600 worldwide.

Ah, Darrian/Davrians are nice little race cars, read quite a bit about them in magazine features.

Thinking back to my post about the E90 320si, and looking at the list of BMWs on the first page, is it really necessary to have not only virtually every modern BMW on the list, but also the M-sport version of each? Has someone honestly "wished" for every single one?...

Yup, I saw one of them yesterday at Oulton Park, racing in a tuned cars championship, ripping it up against RX-7's, Tuscan's and Caterham 7's.

-> For now (and again), due to exraordinary circumstances.
I'm closing requests temporarily :guilty:

-> Due for the fact that I've been busy between school, work, and car (my WRX) at the same time. And I'm still updating the list at a spare time, it is really tough I should say. ;)

-> The requests between my last post and this one will be added (upon approval/qualification) though. :dopey:

-> You guys can continue disscussions though, thanks for your understanding. :nervous:

:dunce:

I like all the people who are still posting in the previous version of this thread. Bump for clarification.

Also note how requests are CLOSED in this thread as well. Even though pointing that out is futile, because someone will come in here in a few minutes and post "hi id like a 2002 oldsmobile osv concept plz".

:indiff:

I know, it was funny to open 4.5 and see people posting in it...even though the title says NO REQUESTS, it's like they just see Wish List and get all giddy with glee.

You know, TVB, perhaps you should put an index in the first post of this or the new thread, and link the first manufacturer with that letter to it.

Ex.
0-B,C-D,E-G, etc.

This, unlike UCP who has done a similar setup with their Hide-Out Index, will only link to the post, though. I don't know how you would be able to make it link to the page, but further down.

^ That is a good suggestion, however on where should I link it to? And since I'm going to start over from ground up, I'll have to figure out a way to resolve this issue. What I can do is, use these 'linkys' as a fast link towards to the real list within that thread or use it on my sig in the future. ;)

For **** sake,

NO MORE DAMN REQUESTS!
Why does no one read the damn Thread title?!

For **** sake,

NO MORE DAMN REQUESTS!
Why does no one read the damn Thread title?!

They just say "Ooh, look, a wishlist! Postpostpostpostpost." Not even reading anything after the word "wishlist'. Most of the time, these people also don't even read the rules of the wishlist or even look at it because they just want to post. So usually the cars they post are already on the list. Makes it even worse.

I think the best strategy for TVB to use to ensure no more requests is to put the "REQUEST SUSPENDED/CLOSED" before the rest of the title instead of after. That way, there's less of a chance that people wanting to post a request will miss it. Also, he should also put it in big bold letters (like you've done) at the VERY top of the thread so members have to look at it when they open the thread.

Just my 2 cents.

:-)

All these threads turn out like an "all cars ever" thread. I can't imagine someone wants the Abarth Fiat 595 really bad.

I wonder if it would help restricting it to one car per member, and only the car he wants the most - if the car is already there, don't wish for anything - or if people would still just try to name all cars in the world :)

Well see though, people like MORE than one car. I'm pretty sure a good majority of the members on here aren't trying to list all the cars in the world (though it would be close :P). There are just so many interesting cars it would be too hard for people to choose just a few. Me for example, I just listed all the American cars I would like to see. I didn't just list all the American cars ever built, but rather I chose the sportiest/rarest versions of each vehicle that I thought was cool (and of course of each generation.)

What buickgnx88 said is exactly right. With the amount of cars that I post, you'd think I'm just posting anything that I find without any regard if it's any different from other cars already on the list. For example, a Ford Explorer Limited when a Ford Explorer XLT is already on the list. But I don't do that. The way I see it, you don't need two cars where the only difference is minor trim changes and color/interior options. I only post cars that I really geniunely want and have checked to make sure they're not already on the list, and are significiantly different than the closest car to it on the list. TVB has done a good job not putting almost completely similar cars on the list. Some people may have different opinions about this, such as not having different versions of the same car, each having different engines and settings. The fact is, this difference alone can make the car behave and feel completely different than another version of the car with a different engine. That's why I support more than one engine per car when available. The most powerful engine is not always the most fun to drive, and I think that if we had nothing but highest-performance engines in the list, it would severely diminish the quality of the list.

Regarding how many cars the list should have, let me just point out that this is a WISHlist. This is not a practical list saying what cars will most likely make it into the game based on licensing and other issues. This is a "what if" list, as in what if SCEA and PD had unlimited funds, time, licenses, and programming capability? If this were true, this list might be valid. But the fact is, SCEA/PD will never have all of those things. GT will never have 10,000+ cars, except maybe 20 or 30 years into the future. So members should be able to post away to their heart's content. But ONLY after they have read the rules and made sure the cars they are about to post aren't already on the list. Half the posts made in this wishlist are cars that are already on the list, and not formattted correctly to the standards TVB has laid out. I'm sorry, but that's just too much. People need to read the rules and use their brains. Even after the thread is closed from requests, people are STILL posting cars they want which, by the way, are usually already on the list anyway. This needs to stop. Anyway, back to my point. Because this is not a practical list, members should have no limit to the cars they can post as long as they're not already on the list. But that doesn't mean we should just say "every car ever made" and be done with that. This is because, as Jim Prower has pointed out in has Racetrack Wishlist, it's the process that's fun. It's fun to compile all these cars and see the result. Some people may not agree with me, but you're not running the wishlist. If you want to make a wishlist saying "every car ever made" and nothing else, go ahead. It will probably be locked by a moderator.

Sorry for the long-winded post, I just want to clarify things for everyone.

:-)

^ That is a well-stated post there DP! I am trying to blur the difference between similar car as the best way as I can comprehend. And since the wish list is so huge to begin with, keeping up is a tremendous task as it is. The Wish List established by the previous editor did his tremendous and grueling work, but it had so many flaws and inaccuracies that I had ask that person to help him out TWICE (Ver. 3.0 & 4.0)!

-> As for the delay, I am still on the process of clearing out the list, but leaving the nameplates along as a default starting point. But as we go on (by the time the 5.5 starts up again), I will slowly pasting those previously requested car back in the list again (this applies to rare, small, and un-noticed car companies). :dunce:

-> So the upcoming Ver. 5.5 will be a freshened up list, with new revised rules. Race/Livery cars will not be included and Tuner/Concept/Movie cars will be limited according to my compliance from V5.5 and beyond. :dopey:

-> I am still waiting for someone to take over the Race Car version of the wish list. I thought RACECAR would take the job, but I PM'ed the fellow with no reply. But the position is still available. Either reply here, or PM me. :)

-> Thanks for the patience everybody. :)

~> WTH!? Who had any idea of re-posting at the V4.5 thread? That thread should have been closed for a long time. Oh well some people can't/don't want to read. ;)

Whaaat?!! I didn't get a PM. Also, I thought once GT5 came out that was when the list was gonna be started  I'm still up for it, but youmight want to remind me because I've been busy as of late.
