Come on, look at the 2 aliens dominating the series, why don't they have their specs changed? Aug won 4 out of 16 races and got 2 poles so far...

Practice more maybe you'll be able to beat them. 👍
look, I'm doing lots of practice but everyone like me is really struggling to beat them, I mean, look at fastest laps.

I'm just making a suggestion after all, if anyone wants to turn it into drama, it's their problem, not mine.

To be honest the weight is hard to handle mate .

i'm giving everything in each race .

but i'm ok to go with 1040kg , or less depends of what the other guys think about .

I don't know how the car is to handle but, mate, you and erazer are too fast. 👍

Anyways at Monza things will be very different.

Personally I don't see a huge gap between lap times especially in Qualy's recently look how close they've been... I'm sure I would be up on the podium if I had not crashed out in the last 2 races but hey that's life I guess... Just means one thing for me don't make that mistake again and if I can't beat them on pure speed/talent then I'll have to beat them somehow else instead - I find it exciting trying to hunt them down gives me a target to catch

I also agree the specs are fair.

Look at the Q times -

however the top guys seem to be able to drive at that apex every lap of the race, whereas many of us are very hit and miss, so it would really be up to us slower guys to get fast and consistent.

However - you must remember we do get quite a bit of help with better bhp, less weight, and better cars.

Before Gv Erazer mentioned, [ as he does before every race-by the way ] that the Lexus guys have no chance.

But for many of us it is not the outright lap time, it is being able to do it throughout the whole race, be right on the limit,
without messing up.

So i think although in Q and practice many of us can be fast, the biggest difference for our series is that
the elite boys can be elite every lap.

Couldn't have put it better my self

@CrazyJohn Surely all the GTR men could work more closely together and share setups, unless your driving styles are all a bit diversified in which case it might be more difficult. Plus I think it's always a good idea to analyse why Aug and Erazer are so fast and figure out what they are doing differently to us and perhaps try to copy them :D. This doesn't stop me from trying all sorts of stuff in an attempt to try and get speed via a different method (which I know to be true in some cases from track to track). Slowing them down too much is a regressive approach

Having too much handicap creates an even bigger issue - the top speed differences.

At Deep forest I had no issues overtaking aughablo, nissman, jontikis, ayhancan, etc, (the really fast ones)
But then I caught up with Petr and it was damn nigh impossible, despite being 3 seconds per lap faster. I was stuck for 4 laps (12s seconds lost) before I had enough and pushed him off (ignoring blue flags).
This is a real issue throughout this series, something that might need a look over, because we HAVE to be up front to even stand a chance. Yesterday 2 HSV cars beat us in qualifying, and an accident became inevitible really, the speed difference is on the straights is ridiculous, and when you come to the corner, the brakingpoints is so different a missunderstanding is bound to happen. (monkeywall handeled this very nicely, relying on his superiour tyrewear to work in his favour, and in the end it did) So far, him logic, and Luke (now in GT-R) are the only HSV drivers I've seen that can fight on a high level and stay clean, leave room, and be aware that the brakingpoints for the lexus is much later. everyone else seems to think the braking points are the same, showing no respect when a Lexus is behind.

@CrazyJohn If we we driving the same car, I'd gladly let you try some of my setups which aren't too far away now (at worst) to try and be helpful. I remember back in the days when I used to do Radio Control cars, how good both the cars and setups were of guys who were winning easily - the cars drove themselves and there's a saying "When it's light, it's right" which applies here too!

Well Erazer, when you or any fast driver comes up behind to pass, i generally try to fight for a short while,
however if they are clearly faster than me, all it does is slow me down trying to drive defensively.
I am happy to do this for a lap or maybe 2 but , if its clear they will get past and defending is slowing me down, then i try to let them through, then i can get back to my normal slow laptimes, rather than extra slow.

The speed difference is impossible to address in a way that is perfect, when we are all in the same race.

Many of you know i have tried many solutions to this over the years, but fast guys with low power and heavy cars somehow always seem to master it and need to overtake slower guys in faster lighter cars.
They can only do this going into and through corners, and so in fairness, although we dont need to open the door and let them through, we do need to be aware that they often take different line through corners than we do, as they need to keep as much momentum as possible.

The only way a truly fair system can be worked is if we all had the same car, power and weight, and then the fast guys would win by miles, and that is not much fun for me.

I am not saying we have to change at all.
Niss does an amazing job keeping everyone as close as possible regarding laptimes.
Fantastic to see we often all Q withing 1 second, i think that is fantastic.

But of course in the race, the fast guys higher skill level shows so much more, their ability to
drive through wearing tyres, to be mega fast every single lap, and not make mistakes.
So our races are so much more than just laptimes, their racecraft also plays a huge part.

Looking at myself, i can be fast, on occasion, given a track i feel happy at and a setup that feels good,
but even them, i cannot do it for 90 minutes, in fact getting 1 lap right in 5 is pretty good for me,
And going 90 minutes without a crash is also a huge achievement.

Maybe it's not a bad idea to try all on the same spec in say the Lexus & just having tunning allowed would be interesting to see who finishes where ?
That would be a good opportunity for everyone to realize the class he really belongs to, and use the suitable spec accordingly. But that requires time and patience.

Me, aug, and ayhancan will take care of the podium, followed by mirial, nissman, and jontikis

I'm not so optimistic about that. :P

Normaly a GT500 series has equal cars and specs, like our former series EGT, Pure, SGT Cup.

But as you all know this is a handicap series so more drivers are able to win is the idea. We had 8 diffrent winners last season which is the most I ever saw in a single sim season. Usually we had only 2 or 3 winners per season in EGT.

But if you ask me it's working very well, the grids are packed lately and the series looks to be very popular in the comunnity.

We just had the whole grid in under 1 sec in Q at GVS so the specs seems to be spot on, I'd highly suggest we dont change them especially in the middle of season.

I believe we'll have to wait for the upcoming "power tracks" in calendar (Monza, maybe Motegi or Bathurst), to see new winners and mixed results for this season also. For example, Daniel did great and won at Daytona.

Yeah then look what happened to me since Daytona lol
