I couldn't really find a thread on this particular topic:

I was wondering how deep would the aerodynamic body parts customization be in GT6.

Kaz did say that there will be something like ''thousands'' of Aero parts and that almost every car can be customized.

Will it just be more spoilers and wheels or will we be able to fit a variety of racing style bumpers and aerodynamic fins and even completely transform our cars.

What do you guys/gals think 👍

I think...we have no clue because we have no details released...have to wait and see.

The only thing I'm concerned about, is when they presented it at that conference all they showed were some wings that looked like subtle variations of the ones we already have.

Aero parts surely means the entire body kit, not just wings, otherwise it would be "thousands of wings".

Yes, I would hope for a proper racing bodykit, since the current aftermarket wings look absolutely hideous on many cars.

I'm honestly hoping for some proper Aero parts to be modded on each car. I hope he's not taking a short cut and only meaning 3 spoilers per car or something. Anyway, I think we'll find out more at E3.

I don't know if we should expect full body kits. Personally, I'd rather have the effect of the kit than the look. If GT6's aero parts are basically GT5's but with more performance variety, we'll have endless options.

Wings with various lift to drag ratios and overall lift coefficients
Spoilers for drag control and/or regulations where wings are banned
Diffusers for either downforce or drag reduction or a balance between the two
Splitters and front chin spoilers/tire deflectors for drag and downforce
Canards for aero balancing and possible for braking cooling or drag reduction.

On top of that, if we can position the wings, this will be pretty revolutionary. Making the car look different seems like a pretty trivial issue to me. I want to get really deep into aero tuning.

Assuming racing modifications appear again in GT6, I really hope this time most premium production cars can be RM'd as opposed to a very small number of them like in GT5. Please make this feature worthwhile PD. I would love to see more cars have a wide body kit, like the RM feature does to some cars in GT5. This, plus the normal aero options would be great.

In addition, when a car is RM'd we should have the option to remove the livery from it. That way, we can add our own (assuming GT6 has a livery editor) or just keep the generic Gran Turismo lovey if we so choose.

I don't see why we can't have both.

'Thousands of aero parts' can be achieved without necessarily changing much in what we can already do (I hope it's much more though), just slightly more options for more cars.
If you concentrate on the Premium cars alone (as I doubt Standard cars will have as many new possibilities if at all to be honest) and assume it roughly includes 450 of them, of which, say 300-350 will have the ability to have bodyparts fitted (as it doesn't include racecars and some unique classic/custom/other cars won't have the ability either whilst some cars like the Golf V for example will no doubt gain these options unlike GT5), then having only 10 different parts per car (divided between front/side/back) equals to 3000-3500 or indeed thousands of aero parts.

And 'all cars can have parts fitted' could also simply refer to wheels alone.

I want to be able to put exhausts on all cars, like the supra for example, so we can install an exhaust system that looks like the HKS Hi-power.

Instead of the toothpick for an exhaust we have on a lot of cars.

Also I doubt this will happen but adjustable wheel offset would be great, some cars look damn ugly because of their wheels hiding inside the arches.

Going off-topic now though...

Yeah, I know......Pretty worrying what PD exactly meant by ''Aero parts''

The message they seem to be sending out screams that you can do alot more with your car now than previous games,we will find out in 10 days though.

I really hope in GT6 we're able to race modify more premiums.

GT5 was such a disappointment with only 16 or so RM cars.

Would Love it if we could at least RM all the premiums in GT6!

If we get a livery editor and.more customization options wonder if the RM and TC cars will be dead

Good point.

Why? The RM/TC cars are raceversions with a different interior and specifications and in the case of the TC versions, also more powerful than the regular roadversion.
Customizing a car (even thoroughly) and putting a livery on it doesn't necessarily turn it into a race car, unless the things that make an RM/TC version different are now also part of the whole customizing process and you can pick and mix (having a car look like a regular roadcar/cupcar on the outside, with the RM/TC interior option and vice versa).

Doubt that it'll effectively replace the RM function though as then the difference in specification between road and race cars (albeit slight differences) would disappear too, although I can see the RM function being replaced by them being simply available in the dealerships as separate cars (like the TC cars are).

I hope they have wing deletes as well. I'd love to get a racing mod and delete the wing for drifting. Also, I desperately want an e92 race mod!

On second thoughts, you're actually right!!

Why didn't I think of that before :dunce:

^Hopefully people do realise that's most likely not the wing selection for a single car but just a random selection of wings available for several cars.
