It's great fun checking out the monkey while spanking Trial Mountain in a car that's not too tweakable - we don't see much of these tracks during the Seasonals. Trial Mountain has been a long time favourite track of many players, not only for its very interesting and smooth-flowing course but also because of the many interesting sights along the track - from Nessie in the lake to Grease, the monkey, out on a limb checking out the racers below.

I see that you got both 2Js while wrangling the Big Cat. :dopey:

Nice work! It's interesting when we have a good spread of times down the leader boards; this helps us compare with one another's performances and gives us that bit of incentive to try harder - in the end it's ourselves we have to beat when we've done our very best and yet strive that little bit more to be better. Along the years in this project I've noticed many things including that some drivers are better at some missions than others - and this all goes down to how much any particular driver in any driving game focuses on a particular area of driving - whether dragging, drifting, rallying, pack-racing, high speed formula-level or prototype racing, or just plain demolition derby style handing of a vehicle.

Don't worry about using the wrong car - or doing anything else that deviates from the rules for the particular event - there'll be someone to remind you to set it right - we make mistakes all the time in here, but making sure it's put right is all that matters in the end.
As well, because you're somewhat new to the rather in-depth game we play in here (designing and challenging ourselves with intricate driving missions focused on all aspects of car-handling as well as reciprocative AI behaviour) it will take some time to be as comfortable as the GTHunters here who have been playing for years (even if just off and on.)

Adding your presence to the helpful, friendly (quite awesome) racers in here that enjoy good sport together is what matters and I think everyone loves to have you in here - warts and all. :D

Still the competition and camaraderie are great fun. Can't do anything today. The 🤬 Post office has delayed my meds so had to get a bottle of Tequila to ward off the heebie jeebies. Luckily I'll be able to pick them up in the morning. Your body being addicted to morphine is not a good thing. It does nothing for pain but when I go without it you wouldn't want to go through what I have to endure. The VA sucks, but I have had some good doctors. This score after five races with FL 1:32.114.

Actually I did it after 1 hour of Arena TT in which I have driven Suzuki on CH.
So you can imagine that SH around Trial Mountain has been a joke...

Pity Suzuki be part of this Offline AI HUB challenge since there some many nice stock cars just below to 500pp.
Therefore, what about to split in two challenges (one for Suzuki and one for the Others)?

The event finishes in 4 days wouldn't be enough time?

I just gave a shout-out to MidFieldMaven the other day about that thread - such lists are immensely helpful to those of us whose racing encyclopaedias are of a practical nature - we're always on the hunt for statistics that help us in our hunt for those perfect cars that fit the challenge.
The Seventh Haven Maven race is slowly but surely bringing the ultimate '07 Model year car to the surface, proving (with the Gixxer in the mix now at Trial Mountain) that old power-to-weight advantage again. Great job taking the top spot away (and keeping it) several times from challengers. Is the cliffhanger over?
I doubt it.
Anything can happen. Has been said many times in here before, too.
And as I was posting up all these exciting entries watching the back and forth as some entries were actually beaten then bettered I'm thinking there's going to be some upsets as we head into the home stretch. Grease Monkey is bound to cause some gibbering and scratching at armpits , running away as fast as possible in in the dark from the Red Devil in Midnight Hound while wondering how many seconds you put behind you and P2, Hondaful Life may yet bring us a P1, and . . . which car really blew everything else away in 2007 at the track that has remained unchanged since 2007?
The Big Cat running circles around some heavy-weights has also shown us what an exquisite car this was - what luck we actually get to experience it - even virtually.
This was a terrific round of events - and gotta thank you and all the others for some great enthusiasm - and some mighty fine racing. There were some good memories - Midgets, Beetles and all.

Plenty more races to come, Sire - patience. ;) We have a huge amount of Career Mode Events to go through; actually we've already done a score of them (including One Makes and Lunar Missions, etc) but because we were primarily focused on taking PD's Seasonal Events and tweaking them to suit our tastes (as well as provide some variety to the racing: Stealth Starfighter is an example) we didn't run too many Offline (Career Mode) events - till now. As the Seasonals wind down, those who still play GT6 (even if not the only game they would play) will be left with only Offline activities relating to GT6 - apart from the online-based interaction and interacting that GTPlanet offers via communities like this.
Kind of like playing GT4 all over again - no internet lobbies or instantly updated lap times or tracks to sit at and chat with total strangers who own some dashing-looking cars. Just forum posts about what we were doing, and pictures, and graphics and other data.

We will surely miss the lobbies - there is no substitute for human interaction, however hard Artificial Intelligence may try to satisfy us.
As for the vast amount of online clubs, leagues, 'cult' groups like the Beater/Sleeper, etc. gang, huge amount of privately set up lobby events that run regularly and have communities knit together over certain activities like nightly dragging or evenings of drifting . . . all these groups will lose that connection - or have to remake them over other games.
Any wonder the screaming going on when the announcements are made about the cut-off?
Still . . . . we have each other and GTPlanet. And for those of us who still like to tinker around with this game that offers us a practical encyclopaedia of cars and great amount of tracks to work with ( I do miss El Capitan. Every time I boot up the game. . . ) well, then we will continue to explore and enjoy the game while in the virtual company of those who do it - which, in a strange way, still keeps us 'online' with each other - and still pitted against each other - albeit with Artificial Intelligence in the mix.
Most certainly Trial Mountain races will be run many times - this time we made the GXR monkey surface as the 'Go To' car for the particular challenge - and that was great data for anybody having difficulty with that event while playing Career mode - especially for the first time (and I just spotted a member mention that he had recently acquired GT6.)
We ran some races previously with special conditions (such as 'stock' or 'non-NOS' or PP limitations) before and we will also certainly be repeating some of those events as time goes by.
Meanwhile - the chance to win a race and get the privilege of designing an event is up for grabs - and if you win more than one Ticket then you can put out a bunch of challenges (or even award that privilege to someone else.)
Finally - is there any car that can beat the Gixxer at Trial Mountain at Polyphony's Digital Cup? Only time will prove the truth to us, one way or another.
For now, I can see you are unbeaten at the top of the Grease Monkey leader board. :sly::cheers:

Players please note:
Events will end the moment PD takes down the current round of racing Seasonals and replaces it with the next round.
At that point will entries close for submission, too. This applies to all current Online and Offline challenges posted for this current round.
Remember that the Whoosier Rule applies to the 3 Main Online Events (not to the Bonus Events or the Offline Events. For now, the Whoosier Rule will not effect the Offline events and as many titles as possible may be won by any one player. This will change in the future to include some Whoosier-ruled events in the Offline Challenges line-up, too.

Final few days left for these events.
Appreciation to all for the great battles taking place. Very entertaining!

FYI: I chose 2007 built car due to this.

(hey mate, I did some research on the SPA track.
It was opened in 1921 and over the years it has been chopped and changed multiple times, but in 2007 it got changed one final time to what we race on today.
So keeping that in mind this is my idea.

You can use any car as per PD but has to be built in 2007, quickest time wins.
Call it 07 HEAVEN).

Kimi Räikkönen won the 2007 F1in a Scuderia Ferrari,
the ROCKET car shape is based off the 1960s F1 cars, so it fitting for it to be on top, For now.

GREASE MONKEY update.

This event has been really good,
Judging by this, when GT6 goes offline It will still be fun and won't be so different.đź‘Ť

The '07 Challenge at Spa was a great idea - I'm sure many would get the connections now. The Rocket seems to be the iconic '07 car for this event, now that we've thrown various '07s at that track and the Rocket eventually lands on top.

As for the GSX-R/4 - I took it out for a couple of spins to check if the monkey was still around and clipped a whopping 25 seconds off my previous time:

@Racin510s unfortunately I don't have the space for a wheel so I'm just a DS3 user with [] & X as my stop and loud pedal.
Most of the tunes I use are on GTPlanet although I do adapt some from other cars to ones I use.
Let me know which cars you want a tune for and I'll share or point you to the post.
Had a go at Midnight Hound I might need to slow down as none of the other cars crossed the line before the end of the slow down scene. :odd: Gap as I crossed the line below, although it was over 70s before this point.

Off to see the Monkey now :dopey:

I knew it could happen, and that it'd take some work but here it is.

Hondaful Power :mischievous:

I swear . . . there was a case of beer involved somewhere in that miracle . . .
Amazing job - not only great driving but acute gamesmanship, too.
Now let's hope no MTM Cards come flying in out of the blue.
Actually I never had but a couple of shots at this but realized that a savvy player could ace such a mission - as if it was actually a Career Mode mission - in which case you got Gold . . . and the rest of us are still trying to get some podium finish so as to level up. :)

This can happen - it has happened before - especially in long races or with lapped cars. Providing some sort of photo evidence helps in settling on an entry time. Makes the mission more tricky - as we can see the P1 - P2 gap is +00:53.036 - though it seems like lfm58 is the lead Midnight Hound for now. Is it possible to record more than a min/ten seconds lead in one lap at the Ring over the competition? Just a few days left to test that out.

Off to see the Monkey now :dopey:

The dino in the lake, the fisherman (or is it lovers?), the blimp, and the monkey are all distractions enough - but then there are the awesome cars that the AI drive:

There's a thread buried in the GT5 Forums where the monkey was christened 'Grease' by some member. Together with rest of the props for this course they've been with GT ( and GT Players) a long time.

Yes . . . I did say I was still wondering if it was a fisherman . . . or lovers. :irked:

:embarrassed:

@photonrider I wondered why you called it GREASE MONKEY, I had no idea about the monkey, fisherman or the Dino, I saw the blimp.

Maybe it's because I was to busy looking at the road.

Zoom in on the fisherman it looks like he peeing.

Stop it now. It's obvious he's holding a . . . rod.
Next there'll be a rumour he's planning to grease the monkey.
I'm sure some players here will remember the furor it caused when topless girls were discovered (allegedly) at Monaco.
I'm still curious, though, about the possible sighting of ghosts at the 'Ring when racing at night. Anybody spot anything riding on the Red Devil, let us know.
