Does anyone remember that back in 2000, EA signed the deal with Porsche to have their cars in their racing games until 2015? When 2015 arrives, EA doesn't have exclusivity for Porsche.

What's stopping them from renewing the licence/deal?

Hmm... I don't remember when EA did signed the deal with Porsche for their first racing game was Porsche Unleashed back to 2000 as PC and/or PS1.

You can't know that. Nobody ever had any evidence regarding EA terms and we have no idea about any details IIRC Through the past decade I read about 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012 and now 2015 from you.. I have no idea from where are those numbers pulled, but I am still waiting to see any true "business" link.

On another note, never underestimate power of the EA. Without Porsche they've lost appeal of one truly special brand they can exclusively control and negotiate about and use it as carrot and stick all around, because ultimatelly, everyone actually wants it because it is special brand.

And recent EA>MS tiein with Titanfall (news from few hours ago) showcases the continuation of strong relationship among companies and never frget EA is run by former MS employee who is very aware about actual power of the Porsche licence.

Very multi-layered situation.

It's amazing how sought after this really is. I thought at one point in time ferrari was impossible and I was proved wrong.

Would love to be proved wrong once again.

Dissatisfaction I'm how EA is representing (holding back) Porsche in video games. Same reason many think NASCAR dumped EA.
Might be, but NASCAR saw an opportunity to spread their product across the gaming industry in a more productive marketing promotion and took it.

Sorry, I thought I read somewhere it was expiring in 2015.

Isn't that car in the game screenshot Porsche too? That would be finally a hint, not this car on the show.

Note the car does NOT have the Gran Turismo banner found on VLN Porsche's... this a Supercup car?

The showfloor should open very soon. If this is more than just a fortuitous/misleading car choice, we will know for sure.

Am I the only one who think it's not a misleading car?
I mean, Sebastien Loeb is already featured in GT5, and will probably be in GT6.
He was yesterday at the PGW, which is in Paris, and Loeb is french.
The Porsche is one of the car from the Sebastien Loeb racing team
The racing team have an Playstation sponsor and Red Bull one (for the MP4-12C).
And why take the Porsche, since he also have an SLS AMG GT3, already in GT6?

If they really have Porsches in the game, why would they go with this roundabout way instead of come out with it? The game is out in a month, what's the point of hiding something so important now when they struggle so much to have good news to share?

Every coincidence involving a Porshe and a GT logo /famous guy has led to dozens of pages of speculation, hopes and dreams with nothing to show for it. I think people should give it a rest until we have an official announcement.

They didn't came with anything new for weeks. They are silent and all the surprises will be revealed when the game will be released. GT5 hype was mistake and Kaz knows it.

Hype is never a mistake when the hyped content ends up in the game. Hyperbole on the part of PD/Kaz is a mistake...the statements followed with "probably, maybe, technically possible" etc. would fall into that category for me. If it's ready to go in December, by all means talk about it.

When is the XBone /F5 release?
PD/Sony seems to enjoy timing things with Forza releases to take a little wind out of their sails...
Announcing "We Have Porsche and Forza Doesn't" would fit that bill nicely, don't you think?
Good reason to delay the announcement, I'd say.

Just a fun thought...
Not holding my breath though.
