Maybe if it actually acted as a preview for GT6, rather than the "here's bunch of ideas we'll spend two years tweaking and improving; but include very little of it when the 'real' game first comes out."

Probably not even then, though. I'm not so starved for new GT content that I'll pay $40 for an early version of the next game.

I won´t be buying more Prologues anymore. No one does this, PD shouldn´t. As simple as that.

Prologues are like Demos or Beta versions of the game that is going to be released, and they shouldn´t charge full retail price for it as if the game is "complete". No matter the content...it is what it is, a Prologue.

A different thing will be as other developers are doing (I must add: sadly) giving out the alpha/beta version of the game before release...so you know you are buying an unfinished product but then you´ll receive a full copy of the game without having to pay more.

Of course as everything, this is a matter of preference if buying it or not...But for me if we keep paying for this thing, they will be doing it, and thanks to that we are not going to see the "full" game while they can make profits out of the Prologue version.
Also it is a way to get "founds" to make or finish the game...but yet they charge you 60$/€ for it when you can have the other full version instead...and "finished". (by now "finished" is not a standard in gaming industry...they use to give us unfinished products with day one patches and so on...yet we keep paying)

Rant over...sorry is My opinion. I have GT5 Prologue and the HD Concept (which was free I must add), but not anymore. I´ll pay for a full game. (all features, details and advantages of it)

Yes I would buy it. It's not the route I want them to go but I would buy it as a fan of Polyphony Digital's work.

Probably not.

2.5 years since the last GT, and this would only be a demo. That'd mean at least 4.5 years from GT5 to GT6. No I'm not doing that again.

Oh. Still, I wouldn't pay for it because it'd be just an unfinished GT6. I'd prefer to wait for the real deal.

No, but depending on content and price possibly.

There's no way I'd pay full game prices. If I recall I picked up GT5P for like $10. I thought that was fair. For a similar level of content to GT5P Spec 3 I would certainly pay no more than $20.

This is also assuming that it doesn't suck. I would absolutely not buy it blind. I'd want to read several positive reviews and see quite a lot of gameplay videos to confirm that it'd be fun for me before plonking ANY money down.

[WIKIPEDIA]"A prologue is an opening to a story that establishes the setting and gives background details, often some earlier story that ties into the main one, and other miscellaneous information. "

In my opinion you shouldn't complain about prologues, the title says it all. If you want to pay for a opening story, you pay for it. If you want to just wait for the full experience, you wait til it's available.

For me, it depends on when the actual game will be released. If it's going to be 2 plus years, then yes, I don't mind Prologue. Honestly, GT5:P did great to occupy my time till GT5's release in 2010.

For those that don't want Prologue, then have a good time waiting two years playing nothing. The fact that Prologue is released, is because we may not get the full version for awhile. Otherwise, I don't think there's a reason to release a Prologue if we're going to have the full version soon.

I mean what can we get from saying no? It's not like it'll speed up development time. Where they are at in development is what it is. The only reason why I would say no is because I don't want them taking 5 years as the norm, and we should get the full version in 2 years or 3 years max after the a main predecessor.

Hey, I'd buy it, no question. Even $40 for what we got in GT5 Prologue was more satisfying to me than my $50 PC sims.

Except GT isn't a story game so that definition is irrelevant.

No, I'll have a good time waiting 2 years by actually playing other games. There's more than just Gran Turismo out there. And quite frankly, after how disappointing I found GT5 to be, I know I'm not going to be as excited for GT6 as I was for GT5 before it came out. So a GT6P is defenitely not going to be in my radar. GT5 destroyed a lot of my anticipation for the next GT game, so I don't really care about how long the wait is for GT6.

And what I get from saying no to a Prologue this time is the satisfaction knowing I didn't pay money for a so-called demo, filled with features that may or may not make it into the full GT6, like GT5P was. Prologues are just money grabs to me. I don't care for them.

What would be strange about a GT6 Prologue is no matter which platform it's on they will have no excuse not to include all 220 premium cars from GT5. If it only comes with 50 of them what is their reasoning going to be? We cut them out on purpose because 220 is a few too many cars for our paid demo?

If they made a GT6 prologue, maybe it could be a paid Spec III update for GT5.

But then again, that statement is going to get destroyed in about 3 minutes.

I'm not going to "destroy" it but it does sound like a ludicrous idea, yes.
